  1. Sorry to jump on the party late, but do you have to pay for Wi-Fi to use the Cruise Compass part of the app?
  2. Hi everyone! I am reading through "Things to Know" in my Guest Ticket Booklet. I see the following: "The following are examples of items that are not allowed onboard. These and other similar items will betaken by ships Security upon being found. Prohibited items: Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas; Sharp Objects, including knives and scissors.*(Note: Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed.) Illegal Drugs & Substances; Candles & Incense; Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons & Hot Plates; Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, Bows & Arrows; Illegal Drugs; Skateboards & Surfboards; Martial Arts Gear; Self Defense Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks. Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks; HAM Radios, Dangerous Chemicals including bleach and paint; Personal Alcohol; Hookah Pipes." Now, I bring this up because I recall clothing steamers being listed online as forbidden. While it does not specifically list that here, it does say "similar items." So...do you think I can get away with bringing one or would it be confiscated? I typically iron all tops and pants, so going without an iron will be a big deal to me. If I can't bring a steamer, I plan to iron before we go and use Downey Wrinkle Release with the hot shower. Before I get flamed, I understand that these rules are for the safety of the ship and the other passengers and I have no desire to put their safety at risk. Thanks for being patient with me!
  3. Hey everyone, I've haven't posted in a long time, but I really need your help. My husband and I booked the Norwegian Getaway, but now we are pondering switching to the Escape. Other than different ports, could someone tell me exactly what the differences will be between the two ships? Thank you in advance!
  4. Hi all! It's been a while since I have been on the forums, but I am hoping that will change soon. :) My husband and I are looking to take a 10th anniversary cruise on the Allure of the Seas. Our honeymoon and 2nd anniversary were on the Caribbean Princess and we loved it. Our 4th anniversary was on the Carnival Freedom and we have no intentions of ever sailing Carnival again. 1. Can I expect that the quality of passenger on RCCL will be similar to Princess, especially since we are sailing a newer (aka more expensive) ship? 2. We had a mini-suite on the Caribbean Princess, but we are debating going down to a balcony on the Allure of the Seas. Has anyone else done this? If so, did you regret it or enjoy the extra money? (I will miss the bathtub though!) 3. What are the differences between the various D category rooms (superior stateroom with balcony)? Is it basically location? If so, what exactly are the location differences? Thank you in advance for your help!
  5. I'm a very sensitive person too, so I understand. I think it was more a subtle comment to the first respondent for being a bit short. While the first respondent wasn't rude, they were a bit too succinct. Elaine was trying to make sure your question was completely answered. (hug) We don't want you to keep your comments to yourself. Rather, we want you to be honest so we can clear up any misunderstandings. I hope this experience doesn't "put you off" from CC!
  6. As much as I would love to bring my cat, can you imagine if you were stuck beside a dog who barked all night? What if your pet got sick? Disposing of droppings? Allergies? I love my kitty, but I understand why they do not allow pets.
  7. As much of a Disney fan as I am, I really hadn't thought of the comparison. It's true though. I doubt it will be Los Vegas because that is really just a compilation of great areas too. I could see the spa area being Ancient Greece...columns, togas. I could picture a Paris cafe for the coffee area. I would absolutely love a space themed club, with something like Skywalker's on the Caribbean Princess as a basis. A rootop themed bar? Just thoughts :)
