Good morning almost afternoon. We are on the ship!

Drive went smooth, traffic was light. We got to the parking garage just before 9 am and they didn’t open the garage until 10:30. There was no explanation for the wait and no one came out to tell us. Once we got parked and in the terminal it went smooth. We even said hello to Linda who always checked us in (just darn luck we go to her station each time)

FYI Construction going on at the parking area

Since we were last at Port Canaveral they have torn up the area where we used to drop off our luggage. They are building a new parking garage.

We will be parking at the port as well for our cruise in January. Do you recall what the daily rate is?

Really excited to follow along with your cruise this week!

  2. Has anyone done this excursion?

It says it's a "private ferry ride"….does the ferry pick us up at the cruise port? Or do we have to go to Red Hook to catch this ferry?

Just trying to determine if this 4 hour excursion is worth it or not based on travel times.

    OVERVIEW

Explore neighboring St. John, the most naturally preserved of the U.S. Virgin Islands, at your own pace and however you wish. During the private ferry ride to the village of Cruz Bay, enlightening commentary will describe the attractions of St. John, which will help you decide how to spend your time there. Of course, you are free to do whatever you like. Be assured there are abundant choices. If you prefer to simply stay in Cruz Bay, it’s a delightful setting for one-of-a-kind shopping and dining, especially along the waterfront. If you’re looking for something more unusual, drop by the visitor center for a recommendation. Outdoor activities are particularly inviting because two-thirds of St. John is protected national parkland. You won’t have to go far to find a beach, as many of them overlook the bay. As an alternative, you could just walk around the village and visit the place you find most attractive.

Allow me to share on two (2) situations.  First, the Haven 2-bedroom Family villa.  this is an extremely nice suite.  The second bedroom is just fine with a topper. The balcony is about the size of a Penthouse. The two-bedrooms have a smaller and larger veranda. Deck 18 is the smaller one and Deck 17 is the larger one.  The larger veranda has a very small area that extends in front of the shower.  No Two Bedroom Family villa are NOT in the bow of the ship to my knowledge.  They are on the sides.

On (H2) Deluxe Owners Suite with Large Balcony.  There were only two of these puppies on the ship. They are in deed located above the Horizon Observation Lounge. They are indeed located in the front Bow of the ship where the veranda goes around the the side of the ship.  I was in one on the Joy for my Anniversary with my adult Children end of 2022.  I got this suite by being cancelled many times due to covid, took 125% FCC, had a 20% off coupon which was given after the third cancellation.  I LOVED this suite.  I even did a YouTube video on it.  This was without a doubt the nicest suite I have ever stayed in.  It was HUGE, it came with three bottles of spirits and all the mixers one could ever need.  When the ship was going at full speed, the balcony was windy for sure.  It did not stop us from enjoying it at all.  If the wind got to you, you had two choices.  You could go around the side which had a wind door and problem solved.  You could also go to the balcony connected to the Master Bedroom suite which was completely blocked by the wind.

My family is very hard on me because they don't like cruising as I do.  I have never had a time where we all were so happy with everything as that 7-day cruise.  I enjoyed the experience so much being on the Bow that I just upgraded my upcoming trip on Oceania Cruises to a Vista Suite about the same size as the Owners Suite on the Joy in the same location (Bow) of the ship. We are actually, the deck above the Captains bridge.

Cruise well everyone and enjoy every moment.

Thank you for this! We recently booked the DOS with large balcony on deck 17 of the Escape for a Caribbean cruise in January 2024.  We will be a family of 6 in this suite (all adults).

I'm really looking forward to that large balcony!

You will get 2 sets of vouchers, for a total of 4 vouchers for the Sapphire and Platinum members - 2 meals each.  You might have to ask for the 2nd set.

How you use them is up to you - other than just giving them to the first-timers. In other words, I believe at least 1 eligible member must be present but can bring a guest.

And to stave off the "but vouchers are per room" argument that is sure to follow:

Thank you this was the info I was looking for. We are sailing in the Haven so maybe the concierge will be able to get us the 2nd set if we end up needing them. I was also wondering if each of my kids being platinum could take their significant others to a specialty restaurant without incurring any an additional  cost which it appears that is also okay to do.

  5. We are sailing 6 people in one cabin.
    Our levels are as follows:

My husband and I are both Sapphire

Each of our adult kids are Platinum

and the other 2 are first timers.

My question is how many coupons per cabin are given?  Do we all get coupon’s except for the first timers?

Well this is unfair…lol.  Curious…remember those random labels they applied to our accounts earlier this year.  Mine was JADE…although we really don’t do much gambling…maybe $100 or less on the slots.  Others had things like 20DISC.  For those who have been fortunate can you please share your label is and what offer you have received.

Ours says Jade as well. What do the codes mean?

We are not gamblers so it has nothing to do with the casino.

I happened to log into my account a couple days ago and saw this.  I had no idea what it was, and I had never received such a thing before.  I didn't receive any emails on it.  Now I'm wondering if it's stackable with other discounts.  I already get 20% with my casino card and 10% military discount.

Definitely worth asking….they allowed us to combine the 10% off with the triple up promo to an preexisting reservation.

  8. Sorry to dredge up this older thread but can anyone confirm what the bed set up is like in the 2nd bedroom of this Deluxe Owners Suite H2? From this thread I see the couch is a sleeper sofa but is there a Murphy bed that comes out of the wall as well?

  9. What is everyone's experience with getting to the airport and flight times from the cruise port to Orlando International (MCO) on departure day? The cruise goes from Saturday to Saturday in January. We would be doing easy walk off.

JetBlue has a 10:55am flight non stop or my next option is 6PM.

I would rather do the morning flight back home but I'm not sure how doable it would be.

    Anyone help/input is appreciated.

They have for me on previous occasions..Best way to find out is to contact them either by calling or using their chat function.  Just an FYI, I've experienced situations where the website was showing Haven availability to include the stateroom number only to find out that when I attempted to book it, it really was not available.

I gave them a call and they were able to put a hold on it.

    Thanks for your reply!

  11. Does NCL allow a 24 hour courtesy hold for Haven category suite?

Just trying to figure out some logistics before booking and there's only one suite left in the category that we are looking at.

I hope someone is able to help me with this question.   At the new Miami terminal, there is a skyway/covered walkway connecting the second level of the garage with the second level of the terminal directly outside of the Haven check-in area.  In April when we were there this doorway to the terminal was not open.  We ended up going down to ground level where we found a Haven Kiosk outside of the main entrance.  We are going Sunday and I called the NCL Concierge Desk to ask if this was now open.  Unfortunately, neither he nor his supervisor knew the answer.  Has anybody here on CC been able to access this skyway to get to the Haven check-in area directly, without going down to ground level, after parking in the garage?  Also, on that same level in the garage there was an area with signs for VIP luggage drop-off.

I also searched the Florida Departures forum but found nothing.

    Thank you.

The skyway bridge was not open for us in December.
