  1. An option is a pre arranged Uber. You can book using wifi calling on the ship, get confirmation, then disembark and find ride. Usually get confirmation the night before I've requested ride. Set a time to have a comfortable cushion.
  2. The OP is from Canada. Looks like 59 CAD= 44 USD. I commute between LAX and Long Beach and a taxi runs around $60 USD. Ubers with surge pricing can be about the same. I have a pre arranged UBER taking us to catch our next flight and it's $39 USD.
  3. We got the Princess notice of shipping on Saturday 09/28 and Medallions arrived today Wednesday 10/02. Cruise is 10/17. We leave on 10/09. Perfect.
  4. I used to take off my mask and hose and store it in the drawer during the day. I did this so "if" the room steward used a cleaner on the bedside table, my mask wouldn't get any on it. Now I use magnetic hooks to hang it up after I've cleaned it.
  5. I have it downloaded and set up. I haven't personally used it, but have a few friends that have used it. They started using it for food deliveries during layovers when Covid starting letting up and have been using it for rides. I've run a few test rides to see what fares would be. Have it on both our phones. Here's a quote from the airport to our hotel tonight.
  6. We leave LA at 0600 on the 9th flying to SFO, then on to Singapore. Early wake up, but we arrive in SIN at 6:45pm. We will be flying Business class, as a UAL retiree I get a great rate! We have "Welcome Pickups" meeting us to take us to the Holiday Inn City Centre Orchard Rd. They aren't much more than a taxi and after a 16hr flt, I like easy and convenient. I've been to Singapore several times, only on layovers, and usually stayed in the Orchard Rd area. I have a lot of IHG points and the hotel has an executive lounge so we chose that location. We usually just go with the flow and have the Zoo and night safari on our plans as well as eating our way around the city. I'm familiar with the MRT and have the Grab app downloaded and ready. We needed to go a week early so Suzanne could get every variety of shirts and souvenirs for the Grandkids. With the exception of Thailand and Vietnam, I've been to all the other port cities on layovers. Suzanne has been to Japan several times working. Once again we get to stop at home to get things done at our house. It's been awhile since we've been to Kauai so I've rented a car so we can go see my Uncle's old house in a subdivision he and my Father developed. A stop at Hamura Saimin will be a must before we get back onboard. Touring big cities doesn't appeal to us and we like to head out on our own to see local non touristy sites. We haven't been on the Coral, but have been on the Island twice both before and after refurb. We are booked in a fully covered mini. The one thing I'd Love to see Coral get in the drydock will be new mattresses and sofas. In the past I've had to order many Hamburgers from room service to get enough trays to "fix" my mattress. If pool towels become scarce, then I've gotten a broke down sofa in our cabin again and I've had to fix it. On sea days I'll be holding down a barstool and Suzanne will usually be on our balcony. Looking forward to getting this adventure started. See you aboard! Aloha.
  7. Guess I have to add a needle nosed pliers to my travel kit.
  8. I know people who vape and I'd take getting in an elevator with them over someone that has bathed in perfume.
  9. Ours shipped today. It will be interesting to see how long it take to get from La Puente to Long Beach( 20 miles). Says delivery 10/01.
  10. YouTube actually schools a contributor on how to make controversial bylines to attract clicks. So many know it alls with just a few cruises done that are now experts. Watching Cr*p like that are minutes you can never recover in life. Keep moving. Always check the source. Believe that one is a litttle old.
  11. We have this booked. He has good reviews and it's a private tour for the 2 of us. About $105.00 at todays rates. He will adjust tour to what you want
  12. Looks like the Royal docks on the 30th, a Wednesday and a work day. A taxi from the ship should take about 15 minutes to the airport( Contraflow into town takes away a lane, but even in heavy traffic, shouldn't be more than 30 mins)) When we docked from Moorea, Immigration was about 1/2hr late in opening. If you can get first group of walk off with a 0700 arrival, you have a good cushion for a Noon flight.
  13. It's all about who you know😀. We have 3 future cruises booked in E730 on the Emerald and E728 on the Grand. We've sailed several cruises in those aft mini's. If we can't book one of the 2, we won't go. Who needs the sanctuary when you have that balcony and room service.
  14. Sailed in E730/E728 both last cabin on Emerald deck many times, and have another 40+ days booked in those cabins, and never have been bothered by noise. We like those cabins as the smoking area is on the starboard side and bothers E731.We had E730 on the Crown for a 28day South Pacific and found out the cameras don't just look down the railings as we were called about towels on our balcony attached to our chairs.
  15. We will be touring with Xuan out of Phu My. I read somewhere than Xuan recommendeds a tip for each richshaw driver. I believe it was $10USD but not sure how old that was. Mahalo
  16. We weren't allowed to have cameras or phones on the tour. It was definitely on the Bridge.
  17. I was at wits end with my email being confused with my Mothers. Did like you, several chats, calls, onboard services, etc.. Wrote a letter to all the top execs and got a quick reply from Miles Clark at Carnival who straightened it out in a flash. try him: Miles Clark <mclark@carnival.com>
  18. For us, the ability to just walk into a waiting lounge and then be let down to the water shuttle is the best perk. Beats having to get a ticket, then wait to be called.
  19. I would've loved that as she doesn't drink much and orders a daily 8 beers and water to our cabin for the fridge. 😀. I was charged. On the Royal, one and done, not again.
  20. Island Princess April 2018, Champagne served on the bridge at end of the Behind the Scenes ship tour. Captain opened the first bottle, but no crew member had any.
  21. I've had the total opposite. Ordered at a hot tub and my wife got a knock at the door and my beers had arrived at our cabin. My medallion was with me on deck.
