  1. Hello, I enjoyed your review very much!:D

My question is regarding your cabin TV.

We were on the Regal 《first time on Princess) and loved the selection of tv shows, movies, etc. All for free.

Do the Caribbean Princess have this? What size is the TV? Is it a flat screen?

We spend a lot of time in our cabin, and we were wowed with the Regal TV size and free entertainment!

    Thanks in advance.

I can answer that for you because when the OP was on board they had old TVs. Less than 2 weeks ago during the 1/13 cruise new 43" TVs were installed and the other day they activated the on-demand movies.

  2. Thanks for the links, these photos are great. It was mostly the Caribbean Princess reviews on Cruisecritic.com that was causing us worry. Bye, fellow passengers, hope you have a great time.[emoji907]

We're on the Caribbean Princess now and have been for over a month. The food is good. We were in Barbados yesterday. Crew is great, service excellent and no complaints at all about the food. We also just booked more cruises on this ship for May.

  3. It seems a map of which cabins are in which muster stations might be helpful but I don't know of one. I was really looking forward to checking out the medallion on our upcoming Caribbean Princess cruise but that went down the drain pretty quickly once they started trying to get the thing to work on Regal.

We're on the CB now. We'll be coming back in May and the captain told us not to expect ***** them. They have to finish the Regal, then the Royal and then the CB. We're at least getting upgraded TVs this cruise. For now the internet is about as bad as any we've ever experienced on Princess. BTW the internet mgr. knows nothing about the ***** progress. He said he thought we probably knew more about what was happening than he did!

  4. We’re looking for information about cabins C106 and C109 onthe Sapphire. Checked out the obstructed view website but am still a bitconfused since it has two photos that show a decent view and a third that looksalmost totally blocked.

Could someone that has stayed in one of those cabins let us know what the view is like and includea photo?

  5. It should be noted that there have been three Royal Princess's. Princess Di was the Godmother for the first. Princess Kate was the Godmother for the third (current) Royal and (you guessed it) Lorraine Artz was the Godmother for the middle Royal.

Yes and it was the Royal-1 that she considered her favorite even though she was the godmother of the Royal-2. Princesses recycling of ship names can create a lot of confusion for those old enough to have sailed on all of the "iterations" of a name. Such as Pacific, Royal,Regal, etc. and now Sky.

  6. We were supposed to sail in the cabin next to her on the old Royal in 2012 (not sure about the year).

She became ill and got off on the cruise right before ours. "Her" cabin (suite) remained empty for our entire cruise (35 days) but I was so disappointed not to meet her. (Although reputation said she didn't speak to passengers - just crew).

When we first met Lorraine on the original Royal in 2003 we too thought she was standoffish. She was catered to and pampered by the crew especially Alan and Alana as well as the CD J J King. We didn't talk to her much on that cruise but after the Royal was transferred in 2005 to P&O she moved to the Sea Princess and that was when we got to know her. She grieved for her husband a long time and spoke often of how much she missed him. She moved from the Sea to the little Royal and while on that ship she was much more outgoing. She would sit in the bar and hold court there practically every day. She was a cool lady. Of these ships she always said she preferred the Royal 1 because that was the ship she sailed on with her husband. She could be charming if she liked you but not so much if she didn't.

  7. The most traveled guest from North America is Ilene Weiner with 2277 and at the end of this cruise it will be 2287. The most traveled world wide are the Kings and the Darby's are way up there too.

Princess marketing changed the title from Most Traveled Passenger to Most Traveled Guest. Probably the same person that came up with the idea to replace the crystal award with the cheap and ugly black box that no one likes or wants.

  8. It is cold for FLL,isn't it?

You should be boarding soon. We arrived on schedule this time. We're onboard and had a really nice cruise. Looking forward to this one.

Also looking forward to meeting you. Have always enjoyed your live reports. Only major issue onboard has been the slow internet. Won't be good until ocean medallion goes live in March.

    Welcome aboard.

  9. We were on the Caribbean Princess in April on B2Bs. Lot of OBC. The onboard account rolled over but only refundable OBC did. I had spoken with a passenger services rep the night before the 1st segment ended and he reassured me that ALL of the OBC would roll over. It did not;only the refundable did and the non-refundable disappeared. I complained and the rep I spoke with next said that non refundable did not roll over on separate b2b cruises. Because the other rep had told me it would, after discussion with a supv it was reinstated. At the end of the cruise I had refundable OBC left and expected a check. When it arrived the amount of the non refundable OBC from the first cruise had been deducted. I called and was told that non refundable Credit was lost if not used during the specific cruise it was for.

Even though this credit appeared in my onboard account throughout the cruise and in my final statement, it was removed after I had disembarked and accounts were closed for that cruise. They sent me a copy of this to prove that it had been a mistake to carry it over and that mistake was taken care of when the account was officially closed.

It took several phone calls and emails to get the money back and then it wasn't cash but a non refundable credit that had to be used on our next cruise. It was also made very clear that I was getting it only as a goodwill gesture because of the situation and that I should be aware that the Princess policy is that non refundable credit will not roll over. Use it or lose it.

In previous years I had credits roll over but I really never paid much attention to the credit type and just assumed all of the unused would rollover. After the aggravation I went through to get the money back I would NEVER make that assumption again. If you note the info in your cruise personalizer as well as the credit listed in your ship board account you'll see Princess explicitly denotes what type of credit it is. I now know that is done for a reason.

Refundable credit just that...refunded if not used. Non refundable goes poof if not used on the specific cruise for which it was given.

  10. A few years back we were on a "magical cruise" that was almost perfect. I was so happy with so many crew from the captain on down I sent an email to the CEO. Of course it was someone on staff that responded. But copies of my email were sent to the ship and everyone I mentioned got a copy. So an email to customer service will do the trick.

Glad the cruise was wonderful. Still sad we had to cancel.

  11. If your luggage is damaged you should take it to customer service and it will be sent to the folks onboard that will try to repair it for you. If it can't be repaired you can file a claim with Princess. It also is documentation for an insurance claim. We were pleased with the repair job they did onboard for us.

If it was hard-sided luggage that is really prone to damage. We've had so many of those damaged by the airlines and Princess we've gone back to the soft-sided luggage. All the crushed corners and damaged wheels just aren't worth the effort.

  12. Yep that's the one I got.

I sent it to correct email address.

    Oh well

I'm out of ideas. :( Can't imagine what the problem is other than I know they are back-logged. Guess the only thing you can do is to try calling them through customer relations and/or sending a fax. Good luck.

  13. No bounce back. I did on email I sent on 4th

You should have received an immediate auto response saying this:

"Thank you for contacting the Access Office for PrincessCruises and Cunard Line. Ouroffice has received your email and it will be answered within 10 business daysand in the order it has been received. We recognize that our email replies accessoffice@cunard.com for somePrincess inquiries. Please know we are receiving your emailsappropriately. We look forward to assisting you.

    Thank you,

    Access & Compliance Specialist

    Fax: 661-284-4408 "

The email address above is correct, but it you sent it to princess instead of cunard, you have to use this email address: accessofficeprincess@princesscruises.com

Hope this helps. They've been very responsive to me so my guess is something went wrong with your original email. Also it isn't too early to start your request since they need plenty of lead time.

  14. I sent a copy of our excursions on the 18th and have not heard a peep since

Did you get the auto response after you sent the email? It says they will contact you within 10 business days. They don't provide a phone number in the email, but there is a fax number.

  15. Is anybody else having problems with contacting the access office? I have sent them our Tour itineraries to make sure that they what tours we're doing and make sure that we have sign language interpreters for my partner? Yes I know my cruise is December 3 months away but it's kind of nice to know who they are and everything is in order.... Even my TA is not happy as well....

I contacted them this month and it took 5 days for a response.

  16. Thanks for the updates...that adds more confusion about why the Majestic isn't scheduled to be one of the first 7 ships with *****.

Wonder what they plan to do on Royal-class ships (and the Island's added cabins?) that require placing a card into the cabin's slot to activate the cabin power?

Some of us prefer to use another type of inactive card instead of our cruise card to activate the cabin power. However for those who use their cruise card they'll either have to be informed to bring another card or Princess will need to provide a card to activate cabin power once ***** is implemented. Or maybe ***** will automatically activate the cabin power when opening the door which would make the slots unnecessary.

But until November all we can do is speculate about how the cabin power will be activated on the Royal-class ships

Actually you don't need a card for the power slot. You can fold a piece of note paper to the same width of a card and use that. Worked for us on the Regal.
