  1. My experience too - plus I’m a little nervous straying too far from the ship in case something goes wrong 😃 In Tenerife and Norway I compared the cost of P&O excursions vs doing the same thing independently and the price differential such that it wasn’t worth the bother - plus you remove the “hassle factor” and anxiety about missing the ship.,,
  2. My P&O refund (different brand but still Carnival) took three months on the nose. I knew from this forum that I wouldn’t get a confirmation email so just took a screenshot shot of the confirmation message from the website for my peace of mind. Mine was slightly involved as it was booked using 125% FCC from an earlier cancelled cruise, and the initial amount refunded was slightly “light” - about £100. But easily resolved after a quick email. I agree a confirmation email giving an estimate for timescale would be reassuring and don’t know why Carnival don’t do t
  3. What do you think will happen to Devon’s infection rate if you “open up hospitality” and get a load of visitors from London where the rate is over 200 per 100,000? Or from Bristol where they have a rather nasty mutation?
  4. Half a day off work is a faff and an unexpected £150 bill was unwelcome. Everyone’s different but if I can forget going away for less than a week if these requirements remain
  5. Also managed to get to Cyprus for a diving trip booked well before this mess kicked off. The faff and expense incurred in getting a negative COVID test three days before departure means I wouldn’t do the same again...
  6. I imagine the viability of fly cruises depends on when (if?) travel corridors can be reopened? Can’t see them being viable if passengers have to go into quarantine on return to the UK...
  7. ERTS are called ETSFs now - External Temporary Storage Facility
  8. Struggling to see how a travel company advertising on a travel website is “incongruous“...
  9. Indeed, thank you The cruise was booked using FCC from a cancelled April cruise. I remember when rebooking thinking that of course this mess would be over by December. Little did I know...!
  10. Applied for refund in Sep for cancelled Dec cruise and credit card was refunded on Friday so just within the three months timescale suggested by the TA. Just a shame all the shops are shut... 🤣
  11. When my second P&O cruise was cancelled (that I had booked using FCC) the email said this at the bottom If a cancellation of the whole cruise is necessary due to COVID-19, guests who had used their FCC for that cruise will be offered the same options as other guests are offered at that time. I took to mean that I could apply for a full refund of money paid - I don't see how else to interpret that sentence. I have applied for a cash refund and am now playing the "waiting game"...
  12. OK thanks. I didn’t know this and didn’t want to cause the TA hassle unnecessarily. I have used chargeback once before (when a TA went bust funnily enough) and it was a painless procedure. I won’t go down that route just yet but it is worth bearing in mind. Thanks.
  13. I considered this but wouldn’t chargeback claw the money back from from the TA rather than P&O (assuming one didn’t book direct)? I am loath to do this - this isn’t the TA’s fault, and don’t see why they should be inconvenienced. I will carry on waiting...

  15. Here you go... Face coverings are not required for employees in indoor settings [...] where face coverings have to be worn by members of the public This also applies to banks, building societies and post office staff. This is because employees should continue to follow guidance from their employer based on a workplace health and safety assessment Source https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own#face-coverings-at-work
