  1. Good afternoon all, I have the dining package on my next cruise in October.  I tried book reservations on the NCL app, but this does not allow for making reservations for 1 person.  Is there a number I can call to make dining reservations or should I just wait till I board to book?  Thanks in advance for any tips or advice you may have.  Have a great 4th of July weekend 🙂

  2. I saw the $30 sale too but when I went to look at airfare to FL the last week in November (which is when I can go) it was more than the cruise fare - yikes!

Anybody else notice the airfare was more than the cruise?

  3. Hi! I have a history similar to yours - I started inside, then ocean view, then balcony, then suite.

Afterwards I also had an opportunity to take a quick cruise in an inside cabin. I can tell you from experience I had an absolutely wonderful time and actually did another couple in an inside afterwards - no problems whatsoever!

Go and have a wonderful time!

  4. Hi All! Hope everyone enjoyed this great weekend!

I will be doing a solo cruise on the Splendor at the end of October.

I usually go to the steakhouse the first night of each cruise, but I am usually with a traveling companion. This time it's only me and I feel kind of funny eating in such a great place solo.

To my fellow solo travelers - have you ever visited the steakhouse by yourself? Did you enjoy the experience?

TIA and have a great week ahead!

  5. Hi! When you get on the ship the steakhouse usually has a table in the atrium where you can make reservations. You can also call from your stateroom. I think the phones may have a button for the steakhouse.

Also, if you want to do this beforehand - online in manage your booking, there is a link there as well.

    Enjoy!

  6. Good Evening Everyone!

Hope all are enjoying this weekend before Thanksgiving!

I have a question I could have sworn I've seen addressed here before, but I could not find it in a search.

I have a friend who wants to go to Puerto Rico for a week, then come back to NYC via cruise ship that would be heading back to NY.

So I guess my question is: can you join a cruise in the middle of a trip? I kind of thought it was not possible but I wasn't sure.

Thanks in advance and have a great Sunday!

  7. I know there is a new platinum gift that will be starting in a couple of weeks. Pretty nice looking tote from what I've seen.

I was expecting the hat that everyone has been mentioning but much to my surprise (and delight!) I received the Tervis Tumbler.

Just wanted to let you all know in case anybody was wondering....

    Have a great day all!

  8. Good Morning All!

I am on the Splendor this week. We are enjoying ourselves but have noticed something peculiar going on. The last couple of days Malcolm the CD has been reminding everyone to wash their hands. Videos have been looping on the TV showing proper hand washing etc. Nothing too weird about that - safety and all - I totally understand, but starting last night we haven't been able to serve ourselves on the Lido buffett. And boy are the cleaning like mad around here - even more than usual!

Wonder if we have been visited by Noro?

    Have a great day everyone!

  9. Hi Everyone! This will be my 9th solo cruise (15th total)

Actually I just came off the splendor with my sister-in-law (Sept 6th sailing) and we had such a good time on the ship that when I realized I had some extra vacation time left, I booked the second sailing as a solo!

Love cruising solo - so relaxing to be on your own timetable!

  10. Hi all! I am currently booked on cruise number 9 with a sail date of September 6th. When checking out my profile on Carnival, I found the following information:

"Close to advancing to Platinum in our old program? Complete a total of 10 or more lifetime cruises by December 31, 2013, and you’ll automatically advance to Platinum in the VIFP Club."

What do they mean by "lifetime cruises"? Do they have to be a certain length to count? If they don't I was thinking of maybe adding in a "quickie" before the end of the year.

I know it's kind of silly but I sure wish I could become Platinum sooner rather than later ;-)

Thanks in advance all and have a great weekend!

  11. Mine was on the Big Red Boat (anyone remember who owned that line? was it Premier?). The itinerary was Bahamas, and the date - this is where it gets sketchy for me ;-) I believe was around May of 1994

Loved that cruise - I've been hopelessly addicted since then! :-D

    Cathy
