  1. Hmm, I wonder who we'll see for the FLL to Quebec trip coming up in a couple of weeks? Sounds like we'd be Xtatic with the current staff.😉
  2. Ok, I didn't look at every post, but I did read Princess's FAQs. Does anyone know if one is considered to be "up to date" with only one booster? Even if one is qualified to get a 2nd booster, age, comorbidity, etc? I ask since we'd like to due our test 3 days and not 2 days before. And one has to be up to date to meet the 3 day window. We are only vaxed and single boosted. TIA
  3. The book is by Princess, but it comes through the TA. But it's clearly a Princess book. Thanks for the responses! As my opening post indicated, yes, most are useless, but I know we'll use the casino one and probably the bottle of whatever at the SR. LOL I guess I'll print out those two and if by some strange act, I can use others, I'll try my phone or go to Pass. services. Happy sailings!
  4. I hope that changes sooner than later. When we took the Royal when she just came out, the buffet was outstanding. We felt it really differentiated itself from the other classes. We're planning on being back on her in February. With that, here's some hope that this is a short term situation. And coincidentally, we'll be back on the Caribbean Princess in a couple of weeks, after over a 10 year hiatus from her. We'll enjoy her!
  5. Yes, I know the coupons in the coupon book are worthless to many. But, lucky us, we'd likely us at least of couple of them. The question I have is for those of you that used at least one coupon. Did you just show them the coupon on your phone? Or did you have to print out a hard copy and hand it over? Curious, since there really is no direction in regards to using one. It does say that one can print it, but never describes what "presenting" the coupon to use it means. I know I could print out the couple we might use, but I'd much prefer the convenience of just showing it with my phone. Thanks for any tips on that.
  6. We rolled the dice and booked the SR. It wasn't clear, but sure enough, it looks like it used the "perk" that was part of our booking. It's not clear that it does so. But it's been a few days and we still haven't seen even a pending charge show up on the attached CC. FWIW, the app didn't indicate that we had 2 dinners available.
  7. It probably still isn't.. due to covid. But it was never publicized. One had to sign up on the ship. I don't recall that it was ever described online.
  8. I might be amiss, but have you tried purchasing it through the medallion app? We're Platinum so we see it there. But I agree that I don't see it on the web through what I think was called the cruise personalizer.
  9. Hmm, I wonder if my doc would write me a script for me to get some before. I took it in Feb with great results. I agree, I wish the cruises would be allowed to have some. Though I also don't know what the consensus is on 2nd time effectiveness. Seems like I read both ends of the spectrum. Of course, I don't think it's clear about taking Pax if boosted.. though my doc had no issues with putting me on it. Glad she did, even though I had mild stuffiness... cleared up in 24 hours.
  10. Whoops I saw the correction. Sorry, Can't delete post.
  11. At best that is quite speculative. If through the years one looked at data, noro for example, it is LESS contagious on cruises than for the general population. It's just that the numbers aren't totaled in most places. Now, look at covid, many places have high positivity rates.. over 20%. Care to shoe me that cruises have that high of positivity rates? You may find some, may. But the vast majority are much much lower. In life MANY things aren't as they may appear to be. And just because something gets repeated time after time, it doesn't make it a fact. This false narrative of petri dish like cruises needs to stop. Take your precautions, but spreading speculations does no good for anyone.
  12. I'll just comment that we got one of the best upgrades with the shortest notice. It was less than a week from cruising. Hope you get lucky too. Happy cruising.
  13. I'm pretty sure that Princess leaves it up to yourself for flying back from Canada. If any of you are so inclined, firing off a short note to your Rep. or Senator about the inconsistent nature of the requirement won't hurt. One can fly within the US with no tests. And one can enter the US from Canada on a bus, train, or ship without testing. CDC has no data to show this requirement has much value.
  14. It's a tough call. So if the patient winds up in the hospital, that $2k will be spent pretty quickly... not even addressing the potential health ramifications. As is typical in the health profession, different folks are treated differently by different docs. Case in point, I tested positive at home, called the doc and within 3 hours I was picking up the Paxlovid script.... based only on a self home test. AND FWIW, I was a boosted patient, though, some 5 months since last boost. I've known others with similar experiences. BUT, I also know others that were denied a treatment due to lack of enough "factors." And yes Pax cleared me up within a day, though I know others that have had minimal impacts, but no one hospitalized. So, in my opinion, there is no absolute in this arena. Take what wants to when one can get it.
  15. I guess they'll do what they think is right, but our CDC admits that surgical masks aren't that effective with the current strains. Add in the frequent taking off/on, one really has to wonder if this is more for show than anything. I wouldn't be as critical if they required the 95s, but for me, it's at least 95s or heck with them. Even then, 95s have their issues, but that's another topic. Let's hope this can die down ASAP.
  16. Yeah, I find it hard to justify these compensation packages. As for the future of the industry, true, it may be a bit of a crapshoot, but out of the gate, it's not slowing so the signs are seemingly in a better direction. Yes, some regions of the globe may become more dicey, but these ships can and are being moved to reflect some of that. Staying tuned. (Full disclosure, I don't much invested in this industry.)
  17. You may not like the bonus, but he lead the team to avoid bankruptcy. Not sure when you bought the stock, but consider that angle.
  18. My daughter did a similar itinerary for their honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. They were in their late 20's. They mentioned at times things slowed down after midnight, but it was fairly port intensive and they wanted to see the ports. And Rome and Barcelona are great cities to spend a day or two at as well. They spent some extra days on both ends. We're US though.
  19. It looks that way. But it's a bit ambiguous in that the final dose may in fact be the booster. So, if you got the booster 9 months prior.. one could take it to mean a 4th shot is in order. I see your point, but IMO, they could have said that anyone boosted is all set. And yes, I understand that this entire requirement can change.
  20. I think I tried hard enough to find this answer, but I haven't seen it clearly stated. I suspect some of us may be in this situation. Let's say you got the 2 doses of the vax.. so you're vaccinated. Now you got a booster in Sep/Oct. Does that mean that once you got that 1st booster, one is all set? Or is there a number of days when one then needs to get a second booster (4th shot?) I can't tell from the wording if booster is now considered to be part of vax series or not. TIA
