  1. I would stay in Yokohama area and visit Tokyo Disney because I don’t want to haul the luggage from Tokyo Disney area to Yokohama port. Also, it depends on which airport you fly in and out of Tokyo. We stayed in Shin-Yokohama Prince Hotel before and after cruise last month. The airport shuttle bus from Haneda airport stop at this hotel, it’s very convenient for us. Since it was Golden week while I was there for my post cruise stay, I saw many kids at the hotel. We just slept and did laundry at the hotel and we’re out all day. Or you can stay near Minatomirai area or China Town area, which is near the port also it is convenient to go to both airports via YCAT (Yokohama City Air Terminal). It is a bus terminal for both airports. Yokohama Bay Sheraton or Intercontinental Yokohama Grand are near the bus terminal.
  2. We’re on the same cruise. My daughters were in group 12 and we’re in group 14. We decided to go to the waiting area and plan to sit there and wait our number when they called group 7 or 8. I also ask the crew member if we can go with my daughter’s group and he said “Okay”. But many people didn’t show up when their group number are announced and he needs to send people down to immigration. There weren’t many people in the room. So, he decided to let everybody in the room go regardless of the group number. We’re at the JR Hakodate station little after 10 am. We went out and tour our self like Hiroshima and Kobe. Then we walked to the morning market and ate second breakfast there because one of my kids wanted to try the fresh seafood.
  3. We cruised April 13th to April 27th Round trip Yokohama to Yokohama/Tokyo cruise. We saw remnant of Sakura in Himeji Castle park (Kobe port) on April 15th and peak full bloom in Hirosaki park/castle (Aomori) on April 23rd. According to some websites, Hirosaki Park/Castle is the best place to view cherry blossoms and according to our guide, there are about 2600 cherry trees in that park. Unfortunately, we’re few days too early for Hokodate on April 23rd and few days late for Miyajima (Hiroshima) on April 17th. So, you have better chance to view cherry blossoms in southern ports (Himeji, Osaka and Hiroshima) if you take April 5th cruise and you have chance to view them in northern ports (Aomori, Hakodate) if you take April 19th cruise.
  4. I booked a Celebrity cruise that sails from HK to Singapore that calls ports in Philippines and Vietnam. We plan to stay few extra days for pre cruise and post cruise hotels in HK and Singapore so I am planning to exchange some HK $ and Singapore $. But should I get Philippines Peso and Vietnam currency? Do you know any reputable tour operators in Boracay, Palawan Philippines and Chan May, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. My cruise is in January 2021, so I have plenty of time to research and plan. Thanks
  5. Andy, Just saw your post and thank you for posting detail account for your cruise with beautiful photos! We'll be taking 14 days japan and South Korea cruise with her in April. I saw the menu on post #99 and pretty much the very similar menu when we cruised in Caribbean. I was expecting to see local cuisine while we're in Asia. I've a question for you if you don't mind. How many times they offer the laundry special during your 14 days cruise? I assumed that they offered you twice during your cruise. They offered once when we had our 7 days cruise with Silhouette. We can stuff as many dirty clothes in a brown paper bag for flat fee. My daughters want to know so they can pack accordingly.
