  1. Feb 2022 on Reflection if you won a trivia game you were given little papers that had "points" on them, and at the end of the cruise, you presented the # you had and got little things like cards, glasses case, hat; don't recall what else, according to the # of points you had accumulated. Oh, wait, I won a lanyard at a name that tune--anyone who was first to name the artist of the song got one. But that was 2022. FFWD to February 2023 on Beyond. Nothing. "Applause" and the game host thought that was funny. It is fun to win little logo items, and really is free advertising for the line. Not sure what lines are still giving prizes at this point.
  2. Thanks; had not seen deck 7 video before!
  3. bumping to top. Would someone please post pics of an aft wrap (corner) balcony cabin on VENEZIA.
  4. Coco Cay has come a long way from the first time I was there in 2019. I'd happily do a stop there any time.
  5. Had the BEST and freshest lobster in NS at Hall's Harbor a few years back! I watched the boat come in, dump the lobsters into a tank, and chose the one I wanted. It was wonderful.
  6. I pretty much like all of them. Cant' say we've had a bad cruise yet. Tried out Virgin Voyages late 2022 (fabulous!), and going on MSC out of NYC this year as well to see what they're like; already got my status match set up. Best to try them out more than once to see which you prefer. I'm at the point where the loyalty perks do weigh in a little bit (thank you Royal/Celebrity) for next cruise planning. . . and Carnival's platinum perks don't have any weight for it to tilt the scale. I've heard they are in the process of revamping, but I doubt there will be huge improvements.
  7. Used to swap papers on Royal Caribbean. . . not anymore though. I agree it was more fun when you didn't have internet help!
  8. I was on Scarlet Lady in October 2022 at half-capacity. That didn't feel crowded but I don't know if full capacity would. Pool area isn't large but there are other great public spaces. And yes, no kids. No pushing photo packages, bingo, etc. No announcements! I wanted to see what it was like and am glad I tried it out. I'll go again sometime, and yes, I agree that they need better itineraries.
  9. Virgin ships are very nice! Loved the hammock on the balcony; all food is included in the cruise prices, plus wifi. Would go on their ships again tomorrow. Major difference is no big production shows.
  10. ah, ok. I thought you had some secret intel'! I checked last night if deck 7 was open on my 2023 cruise and it isn't. Only deck 6, and I think that's too close to the public deck below. I guess I'll see how it goes.
  11. I like that the person on the ship now took a pic for you. Honestly, I'll say that after that pic, I went and checked if deck 7 had open aft wraps for my upcoming cruise, and they're gone. We are thinking of bringing something we can put in that door to soften the sound when it closes! Also, how do you know the bathroom is right there? I haven't seen pics of these cabins yet.
  12. When are you going? Whichever of us goes first can report back! I hope the door doesn't slam--especially early in the morning.
  13. yikes; you're right. I was looking at the doorway to the L shaped cabin. Hopefully OP can answer this for us.
  14. Hi; I'm with you on not wanting to hear the crew door (it has happened -- can't remember the ship but it was deck 7). The latest (now updated) deck plans show the stairway door away from the corner aft wrap door and next to the tunnel-like cabin on the side.
  15. Thanks for this review. Were your card key thingies given in the terminal or are they outside your cabin doors? Good to know about printed docs; I haven't printed them out in years (even pre-covid!)
  16. Thanks for this thread. I asked TA to check price on our SV and got it for about $200 less. A little less OBC but so what. I'll check one more time before final is due end of the month!
  17. ok thx. I suppose it'll just be the fanny pack and maybe pin for the subsequent cruises.
  18. We have a stop in Miami and plan to Uber to the beach and then Bayside for a mojito afterward. Personally, I would not want a cabin under any public deck.
  19. Just curious; my ages-old Carnival Tervis tumbler just bit the dust. . . TIA 🙂
  20. I asked the same question a few weeks ago. I notice the deck plan now has a doorway to the stairs that is not next to the aft-wrap cabin's door (oddly, this doorway did not show a few months ago when I booked). Experience on deck 7 of (maybe) Glory was I got to hear the crew door slam shut at all hours so I did not want to be right next to it. Wishing that by now we had some aft wrap pics and videos from this ship!
  21. If the aft wrap I've booked doesn't have a lounger, I will surely be asking for one. Two would be better. They have time to fix their "shortage"! Have never had an aft wrap or aft-facing on Carnival that did not have loungers. I'll report back too!
  22. I wouldn't let that stop me from trying it out though.
  23. We cruise on both, though we haven't been on Carnival since 2019, and have been on Celebrity twice in the past year. Yet, Venezia is coming to NY and I want to see what she's like. Best to try them out for yourself! Have not had a bad cruise on any line or ship yet. Remember, ALL major cruise lines have had cutbacks, and they are evident on every ship. I have lowered my expectations and still enjoy watching the sea go by from a ship balcony.
