    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

Well, 100 people completed the survey, and the results are now in. I uploaded them here: http://www.alaska-cruise-advisor.com/alaska-cruise-survey-results.html Thanks so much to everyone that participated. I hope you find the results as interesting as I do! In a last minute come-from-behind victory, Juneau beat out Ketchikan as favorite port. That was actually one of several surprises to me in the data. Anyhow, feel free to check it out and comment on it. --Scott

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

I would have liked that feature to be available too. Instead, I'll have to post the results when the survey is finished (It almost is, since it maxes out at 100 responses).

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

That sounds like a great trip you are taking this summer! You said you didn't take any of those cruise lines? Which did you take then?

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

I figured it would probably come down to a close race between Skagway and Juneau, and that's what's happening. Skagway has the advantage of access into the mainland and the train rides, which is a definite plus too.

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

Well, what really surprised me was that NCL was quite a bit below even Carnival, and they only run the one ship in Alaska. Of course, the poll is hardly scientific, but I find this interesting anyhow.

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

I had seen somebody else using this polling site, and I was just interested to find out which ports everyone likes best, so I set up the poll . The only real surprise for me so far is how few votes NCL has received compared to the other cruise lines (like 5% of the votes).

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

Not really, somebody just suggested using polling this site, which seems to limit access to results on free accounts. If I do another poll, I might use another site that offers more options.

By the way, the poll is still open, if anyone else wants to take it ;)

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

I'll definitely post the results once the survey reaches 100 (I think that's the max for Surveymonkey, which I used mainly because I like their name ;) ). It's obviously strictly an informal poll, for fun. Thanks to everyone who has checked it out so far! PS - All glacier viewing is definitely different, but some people seem to have favorite locations/ports. Maybe I should have used the word "favorite" instead.

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

Well, thanks for the info! And thanks everyone who has answered it so far. I'll post the results on my blog when the survey is done. So far Skagway is ahead as the favorite port. And Glacier Bay is (as expected) getting the most votes too.

    Quick Alaska Cruise Poll

I'm taking a quick survey of everyone's favorite Alaska cruise ports, etc (I pasted the link below - I set it up on Surveymonkey). If anyone would like to take it, it's just a few questions, and I'd really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. :) --Scott http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=2SNgcsDO0ppflHv5pFa0OA_3d_3d

    Seeking Alaska cruise advice

NCL would also be a good choice with a 2 year old, since they offer a wide range of restaurant options on their ships, and you can eat whenever you want ( they call it "Freestyle Cruising").

    Can't decide which cruise line?

For me, it really depends whether you want to leave from Vancouver or Seattle. I really like Princess out of Vancouver, but from Seattle I tend to prefer NCL's itineraries. I know you said you're open when it comes to itineraries, but I think Glacier Bay really is superior to the other Inside Passage glacier viewing alternatives, and NCL sails there out of Seattle on the Norwegian Pearl. (The Pearl also happens to be the newest ship currently sailing in Alaska).
