  1. Note that Test Kitchen changes the menu halfway through the 7 day cruises. I’d recommend making reservations for the first menu.
  2. Happy hour was changed for my cruise on Valiant Lady from 4:30 to 6:00.
  3. I forgot to mention. You can link your friends to your account on the app. It lets VV know you are traveling together. That should solve the dinner reservation issue.
  4. I’m in the same boat. Three couples and two couples are in suites. The third couple wanted to save money without doing any research regarding perks that come with suites. Yes, they can afford a siite. A few weeks away from departure and we are realizing threw a monkey wrench in the vacation. We are all schedule to dine together. But we may have to pass on some perks in order not to isolate them.
  5. Brilliant! I love your cape. I will do the same and add a little something to my outfit. You may be the start of a fun trend for Scarlet night.
  6. I find it curious that no one responded to this post. I too have the same question. Although, technically the question should have been about car rental agencies in La Seyne-Sur-Mer. That is where the cruise ships dock. Toulon is a 15 min ferry ride away. It does get confusing as the cruise lines play loose with the names of their ports.
  7. We were there a few years ago. From port we walked into Old Town next to port and through the market, Marche Forville. The market connects to a pedestrian area lined with small shops. By the sea you will find the Palais Des Festivals and Cannes walk of fame lined with hand prints of famous actors. You can continue along the seaside and lunch at one if the seaside restaurants or turn back to the pedestrian shopping where you’ll find some chain stores. I think it’s called Rue D’Antibes. Cannes has plenty to fill 4 hours. It’s not worth traveling to another town. My favorite thing to do when in the Riviera is to splurge and have lunch at one of the beach clubs. I do, however, research them before so I don’t end up in a tourist trap. Don’t forget to enjoy a bottle of rosé wine with lunch.
  8. We sail in July. Unsure of the taxi situation at the port we found a driver to transport us to and from La Spezia train station for 160€. We will continue to Vernazza and Monterosso by train. After lunch we will ferry to the remaining towns and take the train from Riomaggiore to Las Spezia. A taxi to the Carrara train station is the faster and cheaper option. But my experience with Italian taxi drivers 2019 at Salerno’s industrial port makes me nervous about waiting until we disembark to find a driver willing to lose his place in line for a short fare.
  9. Can someone clarify the Moet by the glass. Aside from the 5:30-7:00pm free champagne at RR do Rockstar Suite guests get complimentary champagne by the glass throughout the cruise?
  10. Regarding Carrara, I’m facing the same dilemma of where to visit. I’ve been to Florence and Lucca a couple of times. I thought of returning the Cinque Terre but that requires a taxi to take our group of six to one of the towns, maybe Vernazza, as we will be there on market day, and a taxi to return. Did you find taxi’s waiting at the ship upon your arrival at port?
  11. We booked a private tour that I would not recommend to do a wine tasting, a quick drive through a beach town, and a nice lunch at the deserted village of Castelet. We were left with ample time to stroll though Toulon. This year I will be making another stop at this port. My plan is to taxi to Bandol and Sanury-Sur-Mer.
  12. This will be my first and probably only time in Scotland and I’m trying to decide if I want to spend several hours in a car touring a Loch Lomond or three hours round trip to see Edinburgh. I’ve seen videos of both and the loch, while lovely and a more relaxed tour, doesn’t compare to the Italian lakes or those of Austria. I’ve done my share of traveling and am fairly jaded. Edinburgh has history and considerably more to see but it is further away and my time in the city may feel rushed. Any advice or opinions to help me choose between the two options would be greatly appreciated.
