  1. We are currently approaching our pierside location in Shanghai, China. We will be called for a face-to-face Immigration contact. We will be given our passports and a photo copy of our passports. Immigration will stamp the photocopy and we will return our passports when we get back on the ship. We need to take the stamped passport photocopy when we leave the ship for excursions and such. They will be returned to Reception when we leave China on April 10th.
  2. Our guide for that tour lives in New Territories. She was very enthusiastic about life there. 😁
  3. Yesterday was our second day in Hong Kong. We ventured out for an excursion called New Territories - Heritage & Tradition. The New Territories is one of the three main regions, alongside Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. It makes up 86.2% of Hong Kong's territory and contains about half of the population of Hong Kong. First stop was the Tang Chung Ling Ancestral Hall..... Next was the Man Mo Temple in Tai Po.....
  4. Yesterday Myster headed out solo for the Ancient Hue and Perfume River excursion. I canceled. The tour was rated extensive and it was 8.5 hours long. The heat and humidity would have done me in. Hue is also known as the Imperial City of the Nguyen Emperors. It is home to treasures from the last ruling family of Vietnam. Photos from Myster's tour.....   5. Today is a sea day en route to Chan May tomorrow. Last night we had another of our special meal requests served in our suite. It was Sarawak Laska. It was delicious!

  7. Today we were in Ho Chi Minh City. I ventured out with Myster for the Saigonese Coffee Culture tour. The first bit was a challenge. Walking and stopping in the heat to listen to the guide over the roar of bikes and traffic. First place we entered was not much of anything. Second place had great coffee. Third place had biter drip coffee. Lunch was very good. Pictures to follow.
  8. Today we were in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo. Myster went out solo to the Borneo Traditional Living excursion. He enjoyed it. Photos from the tour.....
  9. Yesterday we were in Kuching, Sarawak, Borneo. For the first time on this adventure, COVID testing reared its ugly head. All passengers and all ship staff and crew had to have their temperature taken before the ship could be cleared by officials. This resulted in delayed departures for excursions. We went on the Sarawak Cultural Village tour. It was a very good tour. There was an excellent cultural performance at the end of the tour. Today is a sea day.
  10. Today was a sea day en route to Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. We did a Food & Wine Pairing in La Dame ($125 pp). It was awesome.
  11. Today Myster went out solo to Gardens by the Bay & Observation Deck at Marina Bay Sands. I have found the heat is becoming a challenge so I sat this one out. Here are some of his photos.....(portrait photos are a problem)..... Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck.....
  12. At the Temple of the Tooth! Vegetarian meal! It was interesting! 😅
  13. Yesterday we docked in Singapore at 1:00 pm. We had booked an excursion called Sights and Sound By Night which departed at 7:00 pm. First stop was Marina Bay for the Lights and Sound show. The music was from various operas. It was spectacular. Next came a river cruise on the Singapore River..... After the cruise we went to The Fullerton Hotel for a Singapore Sling.
  14. The second day of the trip we headed to the Pura Mangkunegaran, a palace complex in the city of Surakarta, Central Java. It is the official palace and residence of the Duke of Mangkunegara and his family. There was a cultural dance performance, a tour of the complex and lunch.
  15. Indeed it was @lincslady ! Even the heat did not impact on the wonder! The whole experience was very well organized, the entertainment was wonderful, the food was delicious! Kudos to Silversea!
  16. Some description and pics from the World Cruise Event which left from Semarang, Indonesia. We left the ship in 24 mini-coaches at around 9:00 am. The 130 people going to this event were divided into 2 groups. Half went to Borobudur on the first day and half went to Mangkoenagaran. On day 2 the itineraries were reversed. The 24 mini-coaches traveled with 2 police car escorts. Our group visited MesaStila (a resort and coffee plantation) first. Here we has a welcome coffee, peanuts and cassava chips followed by a coffee plantation tour followed by lunch. Next stop was Borobudur. This is the largest Buddhist relic in the World. Myster climbed to the top. We then went to our hotel the Yogyakarta Marriott. At 6:30 pm we were taken by the mini-coaches to Prambanan. This is the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. We had dinner on the lawns facing the temple. The day 2 itinerary will appear soon.
  17. Today we will arrive in Semarang, Java. We will depart by mini-coaches for the World Cruise Event and overnight at the Marriott Yogyakarta. The dinner will be at Prambanan. We will visit Borobudur. Exciting! Photos will follow once we've recovered. 😁

  19. We had amazing fun with @drron29 and @rojaan19 this afternoon! They are truly lovely people and our time together was an absolute delight! Have a spectacular cruise you two! 🥰
  20. Today is our second day in Bali, Indonesia. We aren't doing any excursions here. We are eagerly looking forward to a visit from @drron29 and @rojaan19 for lunch on the Shadow today. 😁
  21. Today we were in Lembar, Lombok, Indonesia. Lombok is one of the thousands of islands in Indonesia and it lies due east of Bali. We took an excursion called Lombok's Cultural Heritage. We rode from the pier in air conditioned buses for about an hour to the arrival at Mayura Water Palace. Here are photos..... Next we visited NTB Museum..... Last stop was a crafts market. Tomorrow we are in Bali, Indonesia.
  22. The rice alone was amazing! 😋 The meal was a real treat!
