Not only can you use it in the casino, but you can get $25.00 extra by vowing to use it in the casino. The only hitch is that you really need to be honest about it, because it will be loaded onto your card and it can't be removed....but winnings you make can be removed....like certain types of free play in a land casino.
Can someone please explain how this works?

Please tell us more....
My Mom and Sister are booked in an Aft PH in February.
How did the bed configuration work for you two? Were you able to have the bed separated into two twins? Did one of you sleep on the sofa - if so, was it comfortable?
Thanks!

On the Getaway this past July I used $1700 in OBC for the Casino. $400 was OBC given to me for booking a suite and the rest was pre-purchased OBC bought in $100 increments from the NCL website before boarding. I downloaded money at the slot machine charging it to my onboard account. The money I downloaded was de-ducted from the OBC. I have also purchssed OBC for my up-coming Epic cruise and assume I will be able to use it for the Casino. I am assuming if I get cash advances at the Casino Cage and charge it to my onboard account it will be deducted from the OBC I have pre-purchased.
Did they charge you 3% on the $1,300 you pre-purchased as OBC for the casino? I have sailed with Princess and Holland - we liked purchasing our casino credits ahead of time. Princess and Holland, never charged a fee to use the casino credits.

We are on the Getaway and dh loves Ruebens.
Thanks!

Silly question....Does O'Sheehans have Rueben Sandwiches on their menu?
Thanks!

What is the seating like? Can you get a table for four? Or are seated at large tables?
-
Just want to make sure I understand this....
We received obc of $400 when we booked our cruise. I assume this is non-refundable, as it came from NCL. From what I have read, this may NOT be used in the casino, nor may it be used to cover the daily service charge.
Our TA is also giving us an additional $300. It is my understanding that she purchases this as a gift. So, it should be refundable and therefore available for casino usage or to cover the daily service charge.
Does anyone know how they apply the obc to offset your bill? Do they use the non refundable obc first and then apply the refundable obc?
Thanks!

I have searched the board for an answer, but no luck.
No I will ask the experts.....
Is it possible to do Express Luggage Delivery to your plane?
We did this last year on Holland and it worked great.
We placed our luggage in the hall on the last night and did not see it again until we reached our home airport.
Thanks!

I wondered if anyone can explain how the priority disembarkment works on your final day, when staying in a suite.
-
We certainly will - we always books suites and have had zero issues with smoke on our balcony.
If permitted in the cabin- that would be another story.
-
Hmm - I was afraid of that. Thanks!
-
I wonder if anyone knows if you can use the non-refundable OBC in the casino?

I need help from the experts!
My mother and sister have booked an Aft Penthouse Suite. They would prefer having two twin beds, rather than sleeping together or one of them sleeping on the sofa.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks!

Great review.
Do you know which pier you docked at in St. Thomas?
Thanks!

Hello:
Has anyone gambled on the Getaway? I am wondering about the variety of penny slots available.
I am also curious about the table limits - min and max - for Let It Ride and Blackjack.
Thanks!
-
I wondered if anyone you has sailed on the Getaway can share their casino experiences.
How big is the casino? What type of penny slots do they offer?
We have never sailed NCL.
Do they have Poker Machines at the bar?
Thanks!

Yes, the "full" bathroom is the Master Bath, and there is a very large tub in it. The "half bath" (or second bathroom) is located in the living room/dining room area, and only contains a stand up shower. I have several photos of the master bathroom in this review.
Thanks!

As promised, an in-depth look at our Breakaway S6 on Deck 11. This suite has a different layout than most other suites. Deck 11 and Deck 14 are the only decks to have this configuration.
I will begin with some photos and will try to embed some you tube videos at the end. I know many of you are eager to see the photos, so I'm trying as quickly as possible to get as much info out here as I can.
Our cabin was 11908. When you first open the door to your suite, you will notice the doorways are very narrow, and the door is very heavy. Directly ahead of you will be the "small bathroom" or half bath, as it is called. It was tight, but my teen DD had no problem using this and it had plenty of space for all her toiletries. The small bathroom has a shower, some shelf and some cabinet space, is also appointed with Elemis products. You will not find a soap/shampoo wall dispenser here. Back of the door has 2 hooks for hanging clothes/towels and there are 2 cups hanging on the wall. It is pretty tight for counter height space, but toiletries fit on the lower shelves next to the toilet and a shelf behind the toilet. Here are some pictures of the "small bathroom". I know they were hard to find here in the past.
Turn to your right, and you will be entering the dining area. Our first impression was both "Wow!" AND "This looks bigger in photos". However, even though it was a bit smaller than I imagined, it was roomy enough for the 3 of us AND about 20 guests that came to our cabin crawl.
Attached to the dining area is the living room. It's also the bed where our DD would be sleeping. Beyond that is the sliding glass door to the balcony.
BUT FIRST, the master bedroom...one word...AWESOME!
Hello:
I know this cabin is configured differently than the other aft penthouse cabins.
Does anyone know if there is a tub in the full bathroom?
Thanks!

Because the on-line reviews were mixed, we decided to try Le Cirque, hoping for improvement.
It was a mistake.
I ordered a chateaubriand medium rare. I requested béarnaise sauce. (one of several sauces on the normal Pinnicle menu).
For dessert, I ordered the chocolate soufflé.
I received a good sized piece of tenderloin, which seemed of good quality. But, it was between medium and medium well. Still flavorful.
When the waiter brought the beef, he said the chef wouldn't make the béarnaise sauce.
What was supposed to be the chocolate soufflé seemed like a dry inedible cupkake. It was way overcooked, and was clearly not a soufflé. The waiter who brought it must have known it was dry and inedible, because he never checked back.
While we - and the other diners- were finishing dinner, the staff brought out irons and began ironing linens on the tops of the unoccupied tables between the guests. It was surreal.
I have had many exceptional meals in cruise ship specialty restaurants. This was certainly not among them.
We just got off the Westerdam on Saturday. For our last night on board, we wanted a special meal in the Pinnicle Grill. Service was very poor. The steaks were good. Our baked potatoes were still hard. We had to ask for bread plates and silverware throughout the meal. When we were served our dessert we had no silverware. We waited about 5 minutes assuming the waiter would return with silverware. He never did. I finally got up and found a waiter in the backroom. The waiter would serve my husband his plates by leaning over me through out the entire meal.
We could not find a waiter to refresh our coffees.
We too, experienced the ironing of the table clothes.
During our last cruise service was exceptional. Very strange.

I don't think it will affect cruisers that much. Maybe the ones staying a day or so extra in Condado and would want to take the bus to OSJ. The buses don't allow luggage so cruisers going to the airports or hotels can't ride them. And in OSJ its mostly walking. Trolleys are too few and far between to make much difference there.
We had a horrible experience with a taxi strike a few years ago.
Will the trolleys be effected by this strike? Are the drivers part of the same union?

I am curious if anyone has visited this casino?
I can't remember ever seeing a casino? Is it left or right from the ships?
Thanks
-
I am curious - has anyone actually been in this casino?
I am trying to picture where it might be??? If it left or right from the ships?
Thanks!
-
Does anyone know which aft penthouse suites have the largest decks?
Also, do these cabins have two bathrooms??
Thanks!
-
Wow - We have always sailed on Princess and Holland and spend a TON in the casino. We have never been offered free cruises. Princess "invites" us to purchase a cabin on their casino cruises and offers free play. Holland has never given us anything.
Can you share your experiences? It sounds like NCL is the way to go....
Thanks!
Casino Credits
in Norwegian Cruise Line

I have been looking at NCL's gift website and could not find where I could gift casino credit.
Does anyone know where I should be looking?
Would there be a 3% surcharge when redeeming this credit in the casino for slot play?
Thanks!
