  1. Just received full refund on CC today from Princess for cruise and prepaid shore excursions. Dealt with our PVP for booking 6/2/20 Alaskan cruise tour, paying in early March and canceling directly with PVP on 3/17/20. She credited our FCC deposit immediately and said we would not receive our refund until up to 60 days after our cruise date. Have worked with this PVP for a few years, always felt she was honest with us and handled any questions or concerns we had in a timely manner.
  2. "I found my checked bag right away. The line for Customs and Immigration moved quickly. I was out the door in about 10 minutes. I repacked my bag to transfer my Dopp kit to my checked bag along with other items. I then checked for an Uber. With dynamic pricing, I decided to wait a few minutes. These price came down from $15.90 to $14.30 and I ordered it." Wondering here you find Uber or Lyft after disembarkation, thought it was by the taxi or hotel shuttle drop off area. Enjoyed your comments, will be one the same itinerary in March 2020.
  3. Thanks for the suggestions. If its not to warm, a walk to the taxi stop would be nice, otherwise, a cab ride it is.
  4. On a B2B Caribbean Princess and looking for something to do for the time between cruises. Thinking of doing the Intercoastal Waterway water taxi. Wondering how close the pick up point is to the cruise port, hopefully within walking distance. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. We are doing a b/2/b next March on the Caribbean Princess. Appreciation the comments on how the process works on moving to a different cabin.
  6. Thanks for the responses. Will order some Yuan, mostly in smaller denominations to use for tips, etc.
  7. Will be in China in a couple weeks on Viking Ocean. When on a tour, wondering if the dollar is okay or if the Chinese Yuan is needed. Also wondering if most Chinese ports have ATM's available for local currency.
  8. Will be on the Far East Discovery Tour in September which I am looking forward to. Will be making dinner reservations soon and wondering what time any evening entertainment usually starts. Also interested in any comments on ships tours, which ones are worth doing and which ones to avoid. Thanks Mike
  9. Wonder if there is any problem bring small liquor bottles into Beijing, China for a post cruise land tour after an ocean cruise. Thanks for any suggestions.
  10. Was on the Caribbean Princess end of January and had one of the flooded cabins on Lido deck. Happened last day of cruise, middle of the night. Crew was very efficient in replacing carpet and taking care of us. Only problem was could not enjoy the fresh smell of new carpeting for the majority of cruise. Thoroughly enjoyed the ship, plan to cruise on it again next February.
  11. Also on the Far East Discovery cruise in September and somewhat concerned about the comments on the various land tours. Glad to hear some of the positive post-cruise comments about staying in Beijing what we are doing. As Ike stated about, I hope Viking will be addressing the tour concerns for this itinerary. Mike
  12. Thanks for the information. Getting some Yuan before we leave makes sense. Credit card will be AmEx, hope this is not a problem in China.
  13. Will be going to China with Viking Ocean this September. Wondering if Chinese currency is needed or if a credit card can be used at most restaurants. Thanks for any suggestions.
