I had a similar issue. Since I arranged my own transportation from the terminal to the airport at the end of the cruise, I just changed everyone to driving. It really did not matter for us. If you are using Carnival transportation to and from the airport you will have to enter the flight information.
We had a similar situation in March. We booked 4 people in a suite and one could not go. The email I received showed a cancellation fee of $199 which was the fare for the 4th person. We did get the port fees and taxes back as a credit on my credit card.
I agree. We have stayed there and are booked again for our cruise in October. There is a ton of restaurants in the area. There is also a grocery store about two blocks away if you need to purchase soda or anything that you may have forgotten.
To share my experience:
Applied last night for a cruise scheduled in October. It was a reduced fare booked under the RU2 cheers promotion.
Received approval and $100 OBC this morning.
We sent my sons passport off on May 17th and received notification that it is in the mail on the way back to us. We did not expedite but did normal service. So 7 week turnaround. We leave on October 1st.
I cancelled an excursion while on board the Legend in March and it showed up as OBC on my statement. I cancelled an excursion for my October cruise and it took about 5 days to show up as a credit on my credit card.
If flying into Fort Lauderdale is an option to use you companion passes, then that is also a good place for a cruise out of Miami. It is a little further away but still a great option. Flight prices for me are always drastically better there so that is were we typically fly in to. I too am partial to the 8 night option and love Amber Cove as a relaxing day.
I pay for everything on our cruises. I spend more time and money in the casino (slots and tables), purchase from the Cherry on Top and gift shops. Yet, my husband (plays table minimally) gets all the casino offers. I have never received one and have been on eight cruises. Makes absolutely no sense.
When I went from Baltimore in March, the earliest check in time was 12pm. They do have to clear the parking lot. The ship came in late on our boarding day and it really messed up everything. They held everyone except 12pm and 12:30pm boarders outside. They were told to go back to their cars and wait. It was about 1:30pm by the time we actually got on the ship. Definitely a different experience then other ports we have debarked from.
I had a few gift cards with partial balances for my trip in March. I was able to go to the kiosk and apply them to my account. I did not go to guest services so I am not sure if they would have added then or not.
My daughter had the opposite issue. Vaccine card in her maiden name and all the rest of her paperwork and reservations in married name. Carnival told her to bring the bridging document. She was not able to use verifly because they did not match. She took her paper documents with no issues. The rest of us used verifly and really liked the ease of it.
Try going through your hub app. That is the only way mine worked. I could not do it on the computer. I kept getting the invalid code regardless of the browser or computer I used.
So to add more mystery, if I go in on my HUB app and do manage my cruise, it does allow me to use the promo code but only for my room, not the three other rooms linked to my account. I purchased $500 in cruise cash for $400.
What is really weird is that it worked for someone on my cruise on October 1st but it won't work for us on the same cruise. I tried different browsers and different devices.
I always get a hot stone massage. I get it on the first day and it relaxes me to start my vacation. The only thing to know is that they will try to sell you products. Just tell them you are not interested. the massage is worth it to me!
