  1. This is yummy. I even had it from room service in 2022 when in COVID isolation! Slightly different each time.
  2. I completely agree. Will not sail this ship again - it is poorly designed and feels crowded. Had a very similar Crown Grill experience with a mariachi band right beside our group of 7 celebrating a birthday with a splurge specialty dining. Untenable. Couldn’t hear ourselves think nor each other nor the poor waiter.
  3. I think I’ve learned on here that if you have OBC you can pre-purchase with credit card pay dining and excursions and then when onboard go to guest services and shore excursions desk respectively and swap the payment method from credit card to OBC. Can one pre-book the Thermal Spa access in the same way?
  4. Type “air tags for Samsung” into google or Amazon and it will tell you about “Tile” or “SmartTag”. And yes, I think Best Buy will help.
  5. Welcome! Book early is my mantra. Book a refundable deposit and watch the price. If you’re fanatical check every few days, weeks or months. There are apps for this price watching too! Yes, definitely I use a travel agent. What location are you from… guessing North America as you reference overseas. I have had a similar cruise booked about 5 times including this coming summer and it just seems to not happen. A great itinerary. Consider finding a similar 2024 and 2025 itinerary and read and “follow” their cruise critic board. Also of course the 2026 one for your sailing if it’s been started. You will learn so much from the generosity of others. Definitely add on a few days. I find, for me, before is better to add on as it helps with jet lag and you’re still full of enthusiasm and energy! After I usually become focused on getting home so it’s less easy to enjoy my surroundings! Consider cruise air. Bookable about 330 days out. Refundable until close to cruise. You can still do cruise air with a few days before or after. There are threads on here about getting from London to Southampton. Consider doing a few smaller cruises before your big celebration one! Ask away! Folks are very generous with their time and wisdom!
  6. Was on it in 2015 & 2018 and on sister ship Eclipse a few times more recently. We find we beat a narrow path to the “old favourites” and I’d like to branch out and experience a few new things! Try some different foods & cocktails! Sit in a different bar! Try a different fitness class. See some different ship art!
  7. I’ve always walked by world class bar but never have been there. We have premium drink package. I don’t know anything about this bar. What is fun to try? Is it certain times/day?
  8. Hi there - sailing Solstice in 2024… where are your favourite places to hang, drinks to try, food to not miss, be sure to check out, etc…. We are Aqua, and interested in martinis, wine, coffee, yummy food, mild fitness, the library, quiet observation of the sea. Please pass on your favourites! Thanks.
  9. Celebrity MoveUp Offer Tracker - Please Do Not Post Questions Here! for some reason it’s not posting as a link, but these are the exact title words.
  10. There’s a thread that’s quite helpful about this. Celebrity MoveUp Offer Tracker - Please Do Not Post Questions Here!
  11. Congrats! I’ve wanted to do this … sometime maybe! How lovely. We were just in Puerto Vallarta and we took the bus one way and walked back to the ship. About the same distance walked as you after we zigged and zagged a bit. A great way to see lots and have time to be with oneself in thought.
  12. Did you book online? I’ve done this pre-COVID and there was I recall a $5 charge. Did you walk there? I heard they have a slightly different location but still walkable (uphill) from the ship. Great pics. Thanks!
  13. This is the answer, I think! Why give it away? There’s a chance someone may want to go on the cruise, say 6 days from sailing, and pay regular retail.
  14. I had this last night on Crown Princess and it looked very similar to OP. Like cat irk. But, it was yummy!
  15. Aw, we had him 3 different Koningsdam sailings, a year apart and really enjoyed conversations and his drinks. Thanks. Where is off to?
  16. I’d be concerned the ground is uneven which would be freaky. But a good tour leader can choose a smooth, less pedestrian crowded route. It’s actually hard to stand that long surprisingly and that’s my memory both times I’ve done a Segway tour is that my feet and legs were exhausted! They’ll give you a quick instruction before you take off. It’s pretty easy, but, not everyone “gets” it. The last time I did this was in Seattle and we did a few hills which were a bit challenging for some (lean forward to go, back to stop)… as we’re going down the hill, this person thought leaning forwards would slow them down…. No! Opposite! Stop! Yikes! Cars! Pedestrians!
  17. FANTASTIC! Thanks. Here’s my complicated story! I followed helpful instructions in this thread and submitted 2 separate emails to reservations_submit@hollandamerica.com with proof of my AARP in 1st email and educator proof in the 2nd email. I received confirmation email #1 within a few days, subject line “teacher status” saying I’d been awarded $100 OBC for each of my bookings for “teacher appreciation benefit”. I received confirmation email #2 quite quickly after, subject line “member status”, and a different reference line, BUT, same wording as email #1, $100 OBC for each of my bookings for “teacher appreciation benefit”. I don’t think there’s any way I can see my OBC but my TA was able to tell me I have $100 OBC more than I had before, for each of my bookings. So, I’m thinking they applied the teacher appreciation benefit twice, and the 2nd time it didn’t do anything. Some of my cruises are long enough they should have received $200 AARP, which further supports my theory they tried to apply the teacher OBC twice and the AARP not at all. I’ve re-emailed that same address and explained my theory but now haven’t heard back in a week. What phone # have folks used? Thanks for sharing all this wisdom & experience!
  18. Is the AARP OBC always $200 or doesn’t it vary by length of cruise?
  19. @OttawaJohn I’ve done this princess Hawaii cruise and it feels like a lot of sea days (which I like, and are decadent), but not enough Hawaii time. Consider a Celebrity one way cruise where you fly one way. We’ve usually done the fly to HNL, stay a few nights then board the ship and sail to multiple Hawaiian ports, then to Vancouver (RCL has done this too). Or, HAL does a there and back like this Crown that you did, only out of Vancouver and is 10 days at sea and 6 Hawaii days. Just feels like a bit more Hawaiian time. Thanks for the review!
  20. It says participation in the parched pig brewery tour.
  21. I had this drink on Princess and didn’t like it either. It’s gin, maraschino liqueur, bitter truth violet liqueur, lemon juice. it’s the violet that made it funky tasting for me. And sweet.
  22. That’s what I use, tucked into my waist band. A little challenging if I wear a dress! But, with more and more needing my phone with me, so carrying a small purse, I can put little silicone medallion holder in my purse.
