We just booked a B2B on Viking Ocean. Viking insisted that the two cruises had be booked as a single cruise. FYI.

We used to eat at the buffet every night but Club Class has won us over. First, no waiting for a table (usually). The staff is topnotch, and that's a huge plus to me. And it feels more intimate though it is part of a larger dining room.

Alaska 2022: Thought on doing back-to-back cruise
BabsinTX replied to Cobber76's topic in Princess Cruises
Last year we took Viking up to to Seward, rented a car for 10 days, then took Princess back to Vancouver. Amazing! I will say that the smaller Viking ship was better for close glacier views. We've doing a driving trip to AK and a few cruises, but the combination of two ships plus a rental car is my favorite. -
We took the Crown to Norway and Scandinavia in minisuites D732 and D733. Both have balconies about twice the length of the other cabins on port and starboard side. On Emerald deck I would avoid MD E730 or S6 Vista E732 as it is above the Club Fusion band stand. If you want a largish B4 aft-facing balcony, look at B4 D735 (D734 will be too close to the band stand). Enjoy!

Our Canada/Greenland cruise was cancelled for this year to we're booked for 2022. Can't wait!

If you choose an aft-facing balcony, try to get one on the corner as pictured in post #9. Check a photo of the stern of the ship you're booking. In Grand Class ships, there are metal beams which can block your view. I've borrowed this photo of Caribbean P. to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. The cabins next to the corners have a beam smack in the middle of the balcony. When you look out from your room, you'll have a divided view. Personally, we book aft-facing cabins every chance we get. For the view and the lack of wind!

Another Throwback Thursday - Norwegian Sea leaving Bermuda
BabsinTX replied to bluesea777's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Our very first cruise was on NCL Sea out of Houston in December 2004. It was a 7-day Western Caribbean. We returned to Houston on Christmas Day, and it was SNOWING as we passed Corpus Christi. They ended up getting over four inches! -
We had two cruises booked for January 2021 that we weren't comfortable with, but one of our CNs would have expired if we cancelled. My TA from a big box store said we could keep the same booking numbers/CNs and change the cruises themselves. That's what we did and it worked fine. FYI, Princess handles future cruise credits differently. When you purchase them, they are charged to the credit card you used to pay for your cruise, rather than your onboard account. Instead of getting OBC immediately, you get it on the future cruise you apply the FCCs to. Princess' FCCs are good for

What a great idea1 However, I read through the announcement and didn't see any mention of NCL. They are two separate corporations. What did I miss?

Guess what? They changed the recipe. Used a different gin and added bitters. Yuk! Be sure to ask for the old recipe.

Washington Post article about cruise ships spreading COVID-19
BabsinTX posted a topic in Cruise News
I love cruising, but I think big changes will be coming . https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/politics/cruise-ships-coronavirus/?itid=hp_hp-top-table-high_cruisefallout-1020am%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans -
We were on the 28-day Hawaii, Tahiti & Samoa cruise on Emerald Princess in February 2020. Amazing cruise, though we missed Samoa. Our favorite bar was Crooners and I discovered the Dunes cocktail there. I've worked up a recipe that's pretty close to the original. In Texas liquor stores are deemed "essential businesses" during the coronavirus outbreak; maybe they are in your state or country too. 1 ounce coconut rum (I used Malibu brand) 1 ounce Midori melon liqueur 1 ounce banana liqueur (mine is imitation, which I didn’t realize for a while) 2 ounces pineap

July-October 2021 Canada and NE Schedule Released
BabsinTX replied to idahospud's topic in Princess Cruises
Has there been an official announcement from Princess about these cruises? Seems something should have been announced by now. Thanks.
