  1. We were on Royal Princess last year from Nov. 30 to Dec. 5. It was fun walking around the ship each morning to see what new decorations had 'magically' appeared overnight.
  2. Our worst excursion was a snorkeling trip in Loreto, Mexico. Our group had ~40 people, but there were other groups using the same area. For those of us who didn't have our own snorkeling gear, they dumped some boxes on the ground and everyone got to scramble for equipment. I ended up with flippers and a mask, but no snorkel (probably just as well; I doubt they do any kind of sanitizing between trips). There were no instructions on how to use the equipment. The lunch they served us was pre-packaged sandwiches and bags of chips. There were dozens of bees flying around the picnic area,
  3. I just saw on the Princess website that cruises are cancelled through June 30.
  4. We're booked on the Star Princess to Alaska on April 27, so we're long past the final payment. The price of our cabin just dropped by about $1400 pp. I'm wondering if it would be possible to cancel using the Princess Platinum Protection Cancel for Any Reason, then book with the new price. I realize the refund would be in the form of a future cruise credit, and I'm assuming that I can't use this to re-book the same cruise. I'm mostly wondering if we'll be out any money other than what we paid for the insurance to being with.
  5. I'll let others give the excursion recommendations; they're all going to list the same things I would😀 For your anniversary, make sure it's listed in the Special Occasions section of your Cruise Personalizer on the Princess website. You'll get a sign and balloons on your cabin door, and a card for a really good chocolate dessert. I would also recommend going to a specialty restaurant that night. We really liked Share, but other people hate it. You can view the menu on the Princess website to see if it appeals to you. If you're more of a carnivore, the Crown Grill has good steaks.
  6. On our upcoming Alaska cruise, the Princess rep on the phone gave us an extra $30 each of OBC. Not a huge amount, but better than nothing. Also, when I've tried to book on the website, I can't find a way to enter my husband's Captains Circle information, so I end up having to call anyway.
  7. For those of you who gamble in the casino, and still have money left when you're done, what is the maximum amount you can cash out? What do they do if you have a large amount of money? We're going to have a decent-sized chunk of OBC on our next cruise, and are thinking of using some in the casino (probably on machines, not tables).
