    Mariner Review - 8/31/08

Great summary review! We also cruised on the Aug 31st sailing. It was our first cruise and there were 4 of us (two adults and two children (14 yr and 11 yr old). We had a Superior Balcony Cabin as well. I will definitely sail again with Royal Caribbean. The ship is beautiful and very well maintained, the food is good, the service incredible. I slept soooooo great! It was difficult to pull myself out of bed each day. I have so many great things to say about the cruise - not enough time to write at this moment. If anybody has questions - I will try and answer them. My daughters had a blast in the teen club, they met several other girls and hung out every day together. The shows were good - we saw Ice Under the Big Top, Love and Marriage game show, Quest, Revolution and a singer (can't remember his name) he was OK. Rock climbing wall was awesome and challenging - took one of my daughters ice skating (on Tuesday when the seas were very rough) and we had no problems. We did everything we possibly could while on board and there was never a dull moment - unless we wanted one! Looking forward to cruising again!

My Mariner Of The Seas report Aug 3-10...

How did you find out about the zipline activity? Did you sign up on the ship or once you were at St. Maarten?

    Restaurants in St Thomas

We are booked for the Aug 31st cruise to the eastern C on Mariner - we were wondering if there are any places that anybody can recommend to eat while on St. Thomas. We have a snorkeling/beach excursion from 1 - 5 - so it would have to be around 11'ish.

First time cruisers Mariner of the Seas

Thanks for all the info - I will check out the thread from Five-Rileys - we are sooooo looking forward to this cruise!
  6. Our first cruise is this August 31st - can't wait - 23 days and counting. Has anybody ever done the St. John's Beach and Snorkel excursion? We signed up for that and we have two daughters - 14 and 11. What we are wondering is how is the excursion and what to expect? Also, does anybody know if my daughters can stay together in the kid's club with a 2.5 year age difference? Thanks for any info!!

    Royal Caribbean questions

We are cruising (our first one) August 31 on Mariner of the Seas. We plan to go snorkeling on one of the excursions and we have masks and snorkels already that we plan to bring - should we buy the fins also or just go without? Also, does anybody know if the ship allows passengers to carry on bottled water? We were going to bring a case - unless that just seems ridiculous. I'd appreciate any input.

    1st time cruising

Thank you so much for the information. We are going on the Mariner for Labor Day weekend. I'm guessing that the ports of call will be very crowded due to a holiday weekend. Tons of good info here - I'll keep browsing. Thanks again.

    1st time cruising

We are cruising Aug 31 - Sept 7th. We also read that St John - from St. Thomas is a wonderful island. We love to snorkel as well and think the children would love it. I just found this board and am trying to plan as much as I can in advance - with only 65 days left!!!

    1st time cruising

This is our first time cruising and we are going on the RCI 7 night cruise to the E Caribbean. Any suggestions for St. Maarten and St. Thomas? We have a 14 and 11 year old traveling with us. So we are looking for something fun that everybody would enjoy. We love the beaches - and have been told to rent a car and drive to Megan's Bay when in St. THomas. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
