  3. I’ve not heard of an hours long photo shoot. Is that a new thing? I dislike having my picture taken so it’s not for me but I hope you find out what you’re looking for.
  4. Thank you phabric for asking my same question. I used my credit card to purchase excursions before I got my shareholders OBC. After, I purchased more excursions using OBC. Princess has cancelled our Israel stops so I thought the refund would go back to my credit card. Only one excursion refund is showing on my bank statement. I wanted to find how much OBC is showing as perhaps they refunded that instead of my credit card. Sigh. I’m guessing I have to call Princess. Cross your fingers for me that I get someone who knows what they’re doing.
  5. I’m so sorry this is happening to them on their honeymoon. They don’t need to be standing in line and then trying to explain to guest services what’s going on. I hope it’s cleared up quickly in their favour.
  6. I don’t think they need to wait until December 2025, why couldn’t Princess implement these on NEW bookings as of yesterday? Anyone already with a booking number gets what they expected they were getting when they booked. Or for the packages, you get what you paid for when you purchased it. Don’t change the goalpost each time! I’m close to feeling the resentment you mention. I know that the onboard experience is better than the shoreside but it’s exhausting keeping up with the changes (are any of them good changes?), the ignored emails and the dread if you have to call the 1-800 number.
  7. I’ve tried chat and I’m not impressed. Sure they answered right away but they must have been on five or six different chats because it took that many minutes before I got a response each time. In the end he didn’t answer my querie, he must have thought he was talking to someone else. I said that that isn’t what I asked and he never came back to my chat. I kept checking in for 20 minutes and nothing. I don’t have much faith in chat either.
  8. I’ve been away from the boards for a while too so the email I got today did get my knickers in a knot. I cruise in November. I thought their timing interesting as final payment for my cruise was on Friday and I get the email Monday. I wouldn’t cancel over this but what angers me the most is when I booked, these things were included. As of this afternoon they are not. Booked passengers should be grandfathered to whatever they booked. Princess doesn’t care about my ‘little’ standard fare. I can’t drink so any package isn’t cost effective. I have been a loyal Princess cruiser but Virgin matching status has peaked my interest. Any line really. Starting somewhere from scratch seems comparable to Princess taking perks away. I pay the same and get the same but at least I don’t feel $crewed over. But that may be my knotted knickers talking.
  9. Most of the walk is gradual until you get to the steep bit. I’m only five feet tall and not in good shape, some of those steps are high for my short legs but definitely doable. I’ve been three times in the past 15 years and am going again this year. To walk in the steps of history is amazing. I went with the cruise tour and none of the guides scooted us along. I hope your experience is wonderful! Milhouse, your photos are great!

  11. I usually book EZair because I like Princess to take care of me from beginning to end. However my November flight roundtrip Rome is $500 more with EZair. Exact same flight.
  12. Yes, my first email I thought was high. The second was only $5 less. I’ve gotten two or three more emails this month and they haven’t changed from the $5 ‘discount’.
  13. Not a dumb question at all. The medallion does unlock the door but after a few seconds, it locks again. Yes there is also a manual lock inside the door.
  14. I remember years ago one of the loyalty perks was a direct phone line to the captains circle department. I never used it or made note of it and a quick google search just now didn’t find it. I also googled the loyalty perks and it shows it’s available from Ruby onwards.“Exclusive shore side access to captains circle help desk phone line”… but nowhere can I see what that number is.
  15. I’m following along closely as I’m sailing on her in 13 days. I was one of the ‘lucky’ ones that had a Covid cruise last year so I’m ready for a vacation! So ready that I’d be fine if we stayed docked in Vancouver while she was being repaired.
  16. I cancelled an excursion and it took about a week to get the refunded amount to my credit card. I did get an updated email showing me the excursion amounts still booked and paid. It all looked to be in order. Unfortunately it was for a different booking number for a cruise I have a hold on. That took a phone call and holds and escalating until finally I got someone who knew what they were doing. Sigh.

  18. I booked with a $1 deposit. I refared once then there was another price drop. I called to refare again (re-refare?) and was told they can’t do it because I refared once already. Wait, what? Okay, then, cancel it please. And I rebooked at the cheaper fare. I miss when cruise ‘navigators’ knew at least a little bit.
  19. You can customize an order with the basics: ketchup, mayo, mustard, also lettuce/extra lettuce, tomato/no tomato etc but nothing I’ve ordered has an option for hp or vinegar.
  20. I too will share anything I have. i’m relieved it’s not just me feeling the heat and mugginess on board. I thought I was having hours long hot flashes! so yes, no puerto Vallarta or manzanillo, an overnight in mazatlan (we leave at 2 today) and an added port: Loredo, tomorrow. I’m quite fine dodging the hurricane! I agree the crew is terrific and we’re having a great time.
  21. Sorry for piggy-backing on your'Live'. I'm on board too and checkin around noon was easy - peasy. I cruised a disappointing short coastal in April so didn't have high expectations for this cruise. I'm happy to say that this appears to be the normal cruising experience we're used to. Activities, entertainment, menus... all up and running. This is the cruise that we got the notice about filming. Here's what I found in my travels this morning.

  23. I’m glad to hear it’s refundable. We have lots of port days, a cheap roaming package and a ton of data. It should be fine.
