  1. Kenato, Thanks for the info. I was sort of hoping that the Jacuzzi tubs were a thing of the past. While there is no need for us to have an accessible cabin my DH and I can sometimes have trouble stepping over the side to get into the tub.
  2. Quick question for those of you on the Volendam....have they replaced the tubs with a shower? We are in a Vista room and wondered if we would have to deal with the tubs. Thanks in advance....Barb
  3. On 2 cruises we rented a scooter for my DH to use as he was recovering from extensive foot reconstruction surgery and would get tired with the long walks on the ship. The only problem that we had with a regular stateroom was getting the scooter around the bed. In both cases the bed was next to the bathroom and it was VERY difficult to get the scooter beyond the bed. On the KDamn we had to remove parts in order to do that and on the Celebrity ship because of the room shape there was enough room to park it next to the bathroom and still open the door. He didn't have much trouble getting it through the door but he had lots of practice with his scooter at home. Good luck and hope you enjoy the cruise.
  4. Thanks for the replies...I might have been confused as we have been on HAL also. For our next cruise we will hope for the "fill the bag" specials and if not just get a few bags done. Barb
  5. It has been about 3 years since we had been on a Celebrity ship. At that time it was possible to pay a certain amount of $$ (forgot the price) and have unlimited laundry service. I just wondered if this is still available? Thanks in advance...Barb
  6. Thanks to both of you! I've also posted on the West Coast board. Barb
  7. Hi! A quick question for those of you that have cruised from San Diego. I've posted this on the disabled board and there was a suggestion that I also post here. How long is the walk to get on the ship in San Diego? We will be renting a scooter for my husband to use on our cruise but we were wondering how long the walk is from the dock onto the ship. He can walk but will have a wound boot on and it can be tiring. I was trying to decide whether or not we should request a wheelchair for embarcation. We are familiar with Ft Lauderdale and Baltimore but not the West Coast ports. Thanks for any help. Barb
