We are not happy about this, since we do enjoy our wine pre/post dinner on the balcony. We also purchase the wine packages, but did enjoy tasting the local wines in Germany( Rostock ), so any itinerary that would allow for this would be impacted. We cruise as a party of three, so will have to ration our consumption on our Alaskan cruisetour in 2014. The Explore4 promotion is nice, and I did send an email to our PCC re: our upcoming Canada/New England in October. Hopefully, we can be included in this, at least.

Just the reassurance I needed! We are on a day trip the first full day in Amsterdam with Edwin. I will be sure to come back with our experiences,
Thanks,

Hi Marilyn,
Thank you for your reply!! Wayne and I are on the same cruise with you. Very much looking forward to meeting you.
We are in Amsterdam first, and had asked for a price from Edwin going to Rotterdam. The train seems difficult with a lot of suitcases.
Blessings, Carlotta
I had checked a number of other transfers, and the prices were quite high; so once we had a quote from Edwin, and compared this to the train fares for three pax, we decided to confirm the details. We will transfer from the ship in Rotterdam to Amsterdam, post cruise. The next day we are travelling to the Canadian cemetary in Arnhem, where I have two uncles buried and Edwin designed a great day trip to include two other venues. We were satisfied with his attention to our needs, and so have placed ourselves in his hands. We too are very excited to meet the members of the Roll Call; and hope to spend some fun times with the members of this group,

Please help, has anyone used this service, and were you satisfied?
Thank you, Carlotta
This company was recommended on CC; and we have arranged transfers from Amsterdam Schipol to Rotterdam; Rotterdam to Amsterdam post cruise, as well as a day tour to Groesbeek cemetary, and two museums in that area of Holland. I have received very prompt attention form Edwin. I did check for comments on Trip Advisor, and there did seem to be positive response. We have booked excursions in Alaska because of comments on CC, with great results, so we are hoping that we will have the same experience with this company,

They are picking us up at the airport in Amsterdam and then a few days later taking us over to Rotterdam. They have lots of other options available also. Fast email response and the prices appear reasonable. I am happy we found the reference to them on the board. Edwin is easy to work with for ideas.
Mary
Edwin has responded very quickly, and with great prices as compared to other operators. We will take the kinderdijk tour on Tuesday morning, and will take the Rotterdam walking tour in the afternoon..

We followed Lair Bears walking tour of Tallin. It was excellent and we saw so much. We walked from the ship to the gates and then followed the tour.
We had a very enjoyable day and can thoroughly recommend the walk and Tallin.

I have pdf'd all of LairBears "walks" for the Baltic. I'm thinking that that "Rick" guy should be careful!! LOL

So if I am reading this right we could drop our luggage at the ship and then go tour Rotterdam with Lair Bears information? We are taking a taxi from Amsterdam to Rotterdam so could set our time to match our planned activities.
Are there pitfalls with this idea I am not seeing?
thanks,
Mary

We will purchase the Holland card for seven admissions. There is a one year usage for these cards, and since we will spend four days in Amsterdam post cruise; they seem to be a good idea. Have you used this card for these excursions? The harbour cruise is one of the inlcuded attractions and we will include this on Tuesday's itinerary, since Mondays are not included in the available schedule.

The hotel is right next to the cruise terminal. You cannot have it any easier.
If you have some extra time, take a water taxi from the hotel. They can take you to a lot of interesting stops in Rotterdam.
Thanks for the reassurances. we are in a deluxe suite for HAL and there is a priority embarkation line for this cabin class. Do you have any ideas for a day of free time before the cruise; and how the embarkation process is managed at the port,
thanks,
Marilyn

We will be embarking on HAL Rotterdam, in Rotterdam this September. Has anyone an expereince with embarking at this port? We are staying at the Hotel New York the days before embarkation; and are hoping for a reasonably effortless embarkation,

We purchase the grandaddy bottle of ColdFX at Costco, live in Northern Ontario where the common cold reigns supreme. We also have an annual flushot; so with these two precautions, we are hoing to avoid any episodes of crud on our Baltic cruise. My DBIL had chronic bronchitis, so we are extra careful with all of the previousle prescribed precautions

Just last evening DH an I were trying to remember the schedule for the two for one cocktails. We are early diners, and wondered if the special was avaialble after early seating,

Thanks for the info. I am interested in travelling on this line, but I can see that it probably is not the best choice after a very long day of travel. We will have quite a bit of luggage, and can't see the true value in the small $$$ difference.

We are arriving at YVR on August 30th; and are staying at the Waterfront in prep for our AK cruise leaving the 2nd of Sept (Volendam). We are a family of four adults with quite a bit of luggage. We would really love to use the new Canada Line; but how difficult will this be, and what if any are the drawbacks to using this mode of transportation to the hotel instead of a limo from the airport. We are arriving around 5:30 P.M.

This is an Oceanview stateroom with " a unique" configuration as per the TA. We will also have memebers of our group in 6110 ( Verandah ). Both are on the Verandah deck. Any comments?
thanks,

Bringing Unlimited Wine Policy Officially Change Yesterday

Is it likely that two bottles of wine/champagne could be packaged together with a party of two, or will the bottle be checked as per pax. We use a wine caddy built for a few, so then we would need to separate them at the security checkin.
