  1. Our Alaska in September was cancelled in February, Still waiting for FCC. Princess manage it in a month. Robin
  2. Don't forget to add the Cruise extension.
  3. Silhouette was upgraded in January 2020. Don't know about Reflection.
  4. Perhaps this 15 minute blood test is the answer. https://www.surescreen.com/products/covid-19-coronavirus-rapid-test-cassette
  5. Not exactly the same, but I ordered some vouchers for a hotel group. I could not use them because the particular hotel did not accept them but the Parent group did. Phoned Tesco and they cancelled the voucher and re-issued the club card point with an expiry 2 years later which was handy. You could always apply for a P&O voucher at a later date if required. Robin
  6. We're doing it Sept 21. incl 1 night in Lake Louise, gold leaf Rocky Mountaineer and 7 nights on the Celebrity Eclipse to Alaska. The whole package was advertised on TV cruise program. Hope it goes ahead.
  7. Perhaps this rapid test with results in 90 minutes could be the answer. Passengers could be tested when boarding, and the crew once a week. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53632043
  8. The EU have just issued their guidelines. https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/sites/default/files/documents/COVID-19-cruise-guidance-27-07-2020.pdf
  9. How about a covid test on the ship in 20 minutes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52762153
  10. I would be happy to do a round UK cruise for UK passport holders.
  11. It's not obvious, you need to click on "CHANGE CABIN" when you get to this page.
  12. If cruise lines published the maximum capacity for a particular cruse it would probably give confidence to passengers to book. I would not book Iona if it was fast approaching 100%.
  13. We were the other way around. Many years ago we were holidaying in St Lucia and in the morning we used to watch the cruise ships arriving in Castries. We said we would do that one day and we have, several times. Hopefully will again. Robin
  14. If you are thinking of Venice this may be of interest. https://www.*****.com/2020/06/18/royal-caribbean-moves-summer-2021-cruises-venice-ravenna You will have to google it as CC edit out the competition blog
  15. August and September bookings may have been removed from the booking systems to reduce ship occupancy with late bookings if they do go.
  16. It depends if the US ports are open. European ports are opening so they may try to do some European cruises during the winter with the Apex. Anything to bring some money in. Crystal ball time.
  17. Does the CDC only cover the USA as it has a .gov website. WHO has a .INT website?
  18. I would have thought that there's a better chance of a European season compared to the USA. Italy, Spain and France are planning to open resorts in the next few weeks.
  19. Will they sell of the smaller ships as they are not so profitable. "According to Jason Liberty, CFO and senior vice president, the newer ships only need a 30 percent load factor to break even on an EBITDA level, compared to 50 percent for the older ships. He also noted that newbuild programs industry-wide will slow down with yards and suppliers also being impacted by COVID-19, which, he said, will weigh in on capacity growth in the foreseeable future." 20. Has somebody put 2 and 2 together and got 5 from this pre-announced financial statement that was being made today by RCCL. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/22975-royal-caribbean-provides-business-update-reports-q1-2020-earnings.html
  21. Or is it taking crew to the Apex to prepare to start sailing in June with some European ports opening
  22. Destination now Fra NZR Just leaving Ponta Delgada
  23. Is the Infinity off for it's upgrade. Currently in Ponta Delgarda with a destination of FRA NZR which I assume is St Nazaire the STX shipyard.
  24. In St Lucia a few years ago the captain was wise to the passengers that frequented the Rum Shack and Karaoke in the dockside bar. He sounded the port leaving signal 15 minutes early. Amazing watching the revelers stampede back to the ship staggering and weaving all the way. You don't realise how much you have consumed until you stand up. Later cruises they stationed some crew members in the bar to move people on. Not so exciting to watch.
  25. The over 70's requirement has only been partially removed on the Celebrity travel alerts website. This must have been overlooked. https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/Coronavirus_Updated_Travel_Restrictions_and_Health_Protocols_Universal_Guest_Ltr_(3-12-20)_70_YR_EUROPE_FOR REST_OF _WORLD.pdf I think there staff should be more diligent. I wonder how many cruises have been cancelled or Doctors fees paid over the last few weeks by the oversight of Celebrity not to delete this requirement after CLIA removed it in early April?
