  1. I don't think it's possible to give you a definite answer except say yes, Azamara will allow you to do aqua aerobics providing it doesn't interfere with other guests enjoying the pool. As Trend says the pools are extremely small and if there are any more than four people in them it's actually quite difficult to do lengths. If the weather is nice then they get quite busy. I also don't know how much space you'd need. Early morning when it's quiet might be a good bet for you. Phil
  2. The issue I have with YouTube reviews is that many of them put themselves across as the definitive review when in fact all they are, as you point out, their personal opinion. I've seen some of Gary Bembridge's stuff. Some is ok, but when you have a dramatic title like "cruiselines to avoid" I think it's more to do with attention grabbing to get views of his channel and that makes me lose respect. I don't think Gary is very keen on change from what I've seen. Take the review with the pinch of salt it deserves I think. And it's not just Azamara he says to avoid. Phil
  3. It's not good, is it? I changed to a new ta fairly recently. Before I booked she said not good, but getting better. Since I booked and had an issue. that's changed to "they are very difficult to deal with". This is not sustainable. They need to get to grips as a priority. Stop sending me daily marketing emails and get your house in order! Phil
  4. He had a poor experience recently and I think that has weighed heavily on his "avoid" rating. He said there were signs of cutbacks and a fall in service standards. I can't agree with either of these from what I've seen, but shoreside yes. However, that alone would not make me avoid. So I think his opinion is unfairly skewed. Phil
  5. I didn't ask for mine. The HD onboard did a letter for me. All very efficient. I am still waiting for this to be applied to my upcoming cruise. The letter from the ship is dated the 26th July 2023. I did another chaser a few days ago to the US email address I have. No response. It's often talked about here how good the onboard service is compared to onshore. Here's a classic example. Phil
  6. To me it's more about the ambience and service. Phil
  7. Not sure how many solo cruises you've done. I did a lot on Celebrity and then found Azamara. I loved it. You never feel alone on an Azamara ship. Knowing you, you will have plenty planned onshore. Enjoy. You'll love the CC suite I think. Breakfast in Aqualina is a real winner for me. Phil
  8. Hi Monica. Yes, you'll get one free bag on a 12 night cruise. Phil
  9. uktog has already posted about a couple of your inaccuracies of information here. I also wanted to comment about what you say about butlers and food service. I'm not sure if you are trying to be funny or not, but the "poor butlers" will already be in their suit. They don't dress up just for you. Providing you give them adequate notice, they will be very happy to serve you in cabin. Some will take more pride in doing this than others of course. My recent butler on Quest, Robert, used to be a waiter in the Specialty Restaurants. It showed. He really knew what he was doing and loved serving the food in the cabin. Phil
  10. Thank you for posting this. Very interesting. Phil
  11. Nothing makes me more cross than being fobbed off with "nothing has changed" when it obviously has. It's also known as lying. Celebrity need to take a big note of this report. Sad to see it. Phil
  12. I wish it was all so simple. You remember the cruise we were on in July? Despite three emails and three phone calls I'm still waiting for the FCC for the days I spent in isolation to be applied to my next cruise. Before I know it I'll be requested to make final payment for that one. At least it's been picked up by someone in the US and I have their dedicated email address. The UK customer services have been truly awful in that and a couple of other matters. However, my loyalty details are correct! Phil
  13. I don't think so. Once been on quiet sailings and there have been two shows on some nights. Quest does seem to be the common denominator. Maybe uktog with the comment above is onto something? Post #9. Phil
  14. Your post made me laugh because that's what they call me on the ship 🙂 Phil
  15. It's purely location. V1s are midship on deck 7. V2s are either more forward or aft. The cabins are identical. Phil
  16. I wonder if it's to do with the cast onboard at the moment? Purely a guess. If they are doing the production shows there are usually two of an evening. They were new onboard Azamara Quest in July and had quite a learning curve. Phil
  17. The other thing is, the crew are getting tired toward the end of a West to East transatlantic. It does make a difference for them. Phil
  18. Just to say, for me at least, dining takes less effort to arrange on Azamara than Celebrity. You'll get into the flow. The majority of nights in the Cabaret Lounge have two shows, but there are some that have just one. If you are running a little tight on dining time don't be afraid to ask the wait staff to "keep it coming" as you'd like to see the show. They are always obliging. Phil
  19. Here's are a couple of examples. I could give more, like the loud music in the Martini Bar of an early evening when it's been tough to hear my friends speak. I used to love that place, but the music drove me away. And I'm not a fan of the musak that's piped around areas like the Lawn Club either. If I want music up there I have some great noise cancelling headphones. Which are now used to good effect! Lol Phil
  20. I'm going to go a little further and stay on topic. I haven't seen mention of this so far, but may have missed it with all the off topic posts here. For me personally the one major benefit of its return which has me thinking again is that it will once again give me a quiet haven. The ships have become increasingly loud and the lounge was a great way of escaping that. Coupled with the true benefit of being looked after by the staff there, from concierge to bar staff. Phil
  21. Just had the official email and am delighted to see this Zenith perk back. The underhanded way the removal was done had me walking away from Celebrity, but am very happy that the new President of Celebrity has seen sense. Definitely now an option again. Phil
  22. I would say that over the past five or six years the focus for ballroom has most definitely moved away on Azamara and it's very much a "do it when and where you can" with no formal input from the ship. It all started when Azamara revamped their entertainment. It's a shame. I remember the days when professional ballroom dancers formed part of the entertainment staff and gave group and private lessons to those who wanted it. Free group in the show lounge, paid private usually in Looking Glass which was dead during the day before it became Living Room. Hopefully you'll get a chance, but it's not a priority for Azamara. I love watching ballroom dancing. I never became very good at it, in spite of private lessons on the ship, but I had a go. If I was on your cruise I'd come and watch! Phil
  23. Similar reason they didn't add the Sunset Bar to Pursuit or Onward. Or indeed take them out of Journey and Quest. Too expensive on ships that are nearing 25 years old. They'd have to sell a lot of drinks to recoup the cost! I'm not sure Captains or a marketing executive are that reliable a source, but yes, we will see. Phil
  24. Who told you that? My understanding is that Onward will be the only one to have an Atlas Bar. It's too expensive to convert the others. Phil
  25. I'm guessing that a guest with clout staying in the big suite complained loudly and got a change of chair. Wonder if they are in every large suite? Phil
