That's right. As far as the excursion credit is concerned if you don't use it for that particular cruise you lose it. Phil

Sorry to hear that Lesley, but I hope you had a good time in spite. Love to you both. Phil

In my road we have a little community of four houses we dub “friendly neighbours” on the social media group we belong to and of the six of us, three have or have very recently had covid. Fortunately nobody has been terribly ill with it, but they have not felt at all great. Of course I used to get colds on the ship, but it does bring it home. Too many times I’ve been under the weather on a cruise and it does temper the enjoyment. In the past I’ve been a hugger. That will change, certainly for now and I will be more careful generally. Covid seems so damn easy to catch. phil

Zenith back in the Retreat
excitedofharpenden replied to cruising teacher's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Absolutely. Very disappointing, but not surprised really. Phil -
I'm not as fearful of covid as I was, certainly as long as the vaccines remain effective. We are going to have to learn to live with it. Trouble is the likes of Azamara and other travel companies still fear it and the reputational damage so the cost and inconvenience to you if you do catch it is real and can spoil your trip. That's why I'll do my best to limit the risk as much as I can and wear a mask. They've been doing it in Japan and other parts of Asia for years and is part of the culture. Phil

Totally agree with you. In confined spaces I too will continue to wear a mask. For me it is common sense to do that regardless. Currently (or at least very recently when I looked) 1 in 13 people in the UK have covid. Phil

It's definitely not that simple. I am not a fish lover, but still enjoy Aqualina. The pea and fennel soup is delicious. Phil
-
I don’t think you could go wrong with either. I might be in the minority, but since the introduction of a revised menu there I prefer Aqualina, but as you are first time on Azamara I think you’d like either of them. Same nice service. Phil

I’m not sure what your qualifications are for these and your other observations, but in my opinion you are talking out of the top of your hat and worrying people unnecessarily. Phil

There is an issue in the Living Room. I've been in there in the morning and the music is left on from the previous night by the DJ I would guess. Trouble is he's been playing at high volume all night so even the lowest volume is still too loud. I now know how to sort it out 😉 Phil

And please, not the horrendously loud music they have in the martini bar on Celebrity. I sound like an old curmudgeon, but I felt like this some while ago when I was a lot younger and I'm not the only one. If they crank up music on Azamara or pipe muzak around the ship I'll likely walk away. I'd like to think they are more sensible at pitching the product to a different market. It will be very interesting to see how the new bar on Onward goes. Phil

Understand. To me it sounds like they've messed up and haven't attached the offer to singles. Unless buried within the terms and conditions it says not applicable to singles. Which is ridiculous because you are paying for two people. Every such offer I've booked in the past as a single gets the same offer as two people. I'd check it with them. It's not the first time there have been mistakes in the booking engine. If you find out then let us know. Phil

Is it a guarantee? Guarantees aren't always offered to solos. Phil

Telephone Wait Time To Talk To Azamara on the Telephone

I'm in the UK and usually phone about lunchtime here which equates to early morning in Wichita and I have got through pretty quickly. Phil -
Venice Port changed to Ravenna for 2022 sailings
excitedofharpenden replied to CC71's topic in Azamara
I did that one too a few years ago and it was amazing. Best of all I did a test drive in a Ferrari California afterwards around the streets of Maranello arranged through one of the concessionnaires on the day. It was a Sunday so the roads were quiet and was great fun. Phil -
There is a steam room in each of the changing rooms available to all. The two hot tubs by the pool are public. The thelasso pool on the spa deck terrace near the steam rooms is for the use of suite guests and those that have paid for a pass for the cruise or for those that have had a spa treatment that day. Phil

As others have said, don't be concerned. I've been on a couple of cruises when Perry Golf have been on. You'd never know. I only found out by accident. Phil

Good advice all round. Phil

Venice Port changed to Ravenna for 2022 sailings
excitedofharpenden replied to CC71's topic in Azamara
Ravenna is a nice place. It's no Venice, but it's a nice place. The mosaics there are stunning, the shopping not bad. It's not a very attractive port that you dock at and you take the shuttle into town. Phil -
No, I'm pretty sure you can't. You can use one certificate on more than one cruise and have a balance left over to use for another, which is what happened to me. Phil
-
It's always been like that. Phil
-
Thanks for the comparison Ann. I know you love Azamara as much as I do so it was a very good read. Phil
-
It's odd 😉. I guess we are all different and most definitely it can change from cruise to cruise and even within the cruise. I've found Spirits to be extremely warm on many occasions, especially when there is a good gathering there for dinner. More often than not I now go to The Den because it's more tolerable and a nice atmosphere. Or if the weather is good, the Pool Bar. Phil

A very salient point at the moment. Phil
