  1. Kind of like restaurant prices in general...
  2. And I can promise you that unless you have an extraordinary appetite, you will not leave hungry.
  3. Same here. I bring no "good" jewelry on any vacation except my plain gold wedding ring. It's that much less to worry about.
  4. You can order any juice that is available at the bar, such as pineapple juice, orange juice, or cranberry juice.
  5. To be fair, if you want to go to Disney, staying on the ship at Port Canaveral would be a lot cheaper than a hotel and meals at Disney World. 😁
  6. When I worked in a large city and used rideshares a lot, I carried my shoes, lunch, etc., in a large Kate Spade tote bag. I would text my ride and tell them to look for the woman with the giant pink purse.
  7. If your child struggles with lines and crowds, there are going to be far fewer of that at the port at 1:30 than there will be earlier.
  8. I am pretty sure the shower walls are not magnetic. In any case, I have found that my travel size (3 oz each) shampoo and conditioner fit just fine in the soap dish in the shower.
  9. If you thought bars were crowded on embarkation day before, imagine when all the diamonds and plats are all trying to get the fancy frozen drinks as their first beverage... 😁
  10. I don't know about that, but it is super easy to get a cab or Uber to the airport from the New Orleans port - and probably about the same or cheaper than what Carnival would charge.
  11. That wasn't hacking, that was phishing. 🙂 With phishing, it is the victim that gives the information to the scammer.
  12. If I deal only with my PVP, whose name pops up on the phone when she calls, who has a dedicated extension we type in when call her, and whose voice I recognize, I don't see how this could happen to me.
  13. Each coupon is for one bottle. If you order it in the MDR, they will store an unfinished bottle. Otherwise, I think you will have to bring it back to your cabin.
  14. When you sign up for Cruise the Vineyards. They give you coupons for the number of bottles in the package and a list of wines to choose from. When you are at the MDR, a restaurant, or a bar, you hand the server/bartender a coupon and tell them which wine you want. I have never eaten dinner in the buffet in over 100 sea days, but I would think you can stop at a bar first and get your wine. The bartender can give you glasses if you request them.
  15. I would bet anything that she responded to some sort of phishing email or text about a fake upgrade. Then they cancelled her cruise with the real Carnival when she disputed the charge. That's something that could happen with any business one deals with. That being said, it's something that would never happen to someone who uses a PVP exclusively.
  16. Or book it on the night of embarkations, which is never Elegant Night.
  17. The daily program for the entire cruise is available on the Hub App as soon as you board.
  18. Unfortunately, as far as the dress code goes there is no longer much difference between Elegant Night and any other night.
  19. I agree as well. Plus if you are a member of Rakuten you can get a rebate on the cost of your tour. Often they run specials that are up to 10% cash back.
  20. I don't believe they can do a chargeback if the vendor no longer has an active merchant account, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case here.
  21. If I am not mistaken, she fought the charge backs, and changed the refund policy on her website to show the credit card companies that no one was owed a refund.
  22. Or do my handy-dandy hack of hanging the clothes in the bathroom, turning the shower on as hot as it goes, and closing the bathroom door.
  23. Yep. I feel your pain. DH and I tend to be bargain hunters when it comes to travel, we would never spend thousands on a cruise and flights and then pass up a once-in-a-lifetime experience because it was a few dollars more than we wanted to pay.
  24. I am not sure that Diamonds and Plats get priority once you have checked in for YTD, Diamonds and Plats get priority as far as your initial dining choice (Early, Late, or YTD), but I am almost certain that getting seated for YTD is based on when you check in and the size of your party, not your status. Journeys cruises have longer waits because they skew older, and older people (myself included 😁) tend to want to eat earlier. As a result, there is a huge flurry of check-ins right when the system opens up, resulting in longer waits if you want to eat before 7:00 or so.
