  1. Mary Mastony was also known as the QE2 Diva a name given to her by a wife of one of the QE2"s captains because Mary always liked to sing opera at the passenger talent shows aboard ship. Mary was also aboard the QM2 and maybe Queen Victoria. Mary passed away on June 27,2018. Beatrice Muller was known as the lady who lived aboard the QE2. In January, 2000 she and her husband boarded the QE2 for the world cruise. During this world cruise Bea's husband passed away and after his funeral Bea's sons suggested that she would be much more happier living aboard the QE2 full time than living in an old folks home. Bea agreed with her son's suggestion and sold her house in New Jersey to move aboard the QE2. She stayed aboard the QE2 from 2000 to 2008 when the QE2 was sold and taken out of service. Of course when the QE2 was placed in the drydock during this 8 year period Bea had to leave the ship. Bea was not happy when the QE2 was sold and taken out of service that she wrote an angry protest letter to Micky Arison who is the chairman of the Carnival Corporation which is the parent company that owns the Cunard Line. She was offered cabin space aboard the QM2 and Queen Victoria. Bea tried both ships but did not like either ship and turned down Cunard's offer. Beatrice Muller passed away on October 4,2013.
  2. I remember seeing a model of the first Queen Mary aboard the QM2. Why does it seem that model of the first Queen Mary was taken off the QM2 because I can't find it anywhere aboard the QM2 but at least there is that painting of the first Queen Mary about to dock at her New York pier that is located in QM2's Grand Lobby
  3. When the Queen Anne goes back to the shipyard for her 1st refit, they should hang paintings of Cunard ships all over the ship and place models of Cunard ships in many areas of the Queen Anne
  4. Is Queen Isabella the Queen of Spain who gave Christopher Columbus the 3 ships that he discovered America? the names of the 3 ships were the Nina, Pinta and the Santa Maria
  5. Another idea I have is a King name since the current monarch is a King so how about King Charles?
  6. How about some White Star Line names like Oceanic or even since Royal Caribbean uses the words Of The Seas in the names of their ships, how about Queen Of The Seas
  7. To be sure is when it is Brooklyn Wedding dancing the music is coming out of the QM2's sound system in the night club?
  8. Is the silent disco every night? I would accept if the silent disco thing was every other night
  9. I hope that there will not be any silent disco in that room whether it's called Bright Lights or G32. I think that it looks awkward dancing to the music while wearing headphones on my head.
  10. So will the Bright Lights Society replace the G32 Club in the same room that the G32 Club occupies?
  11. If Cunard decides to no longer use Illuminations as a planetarium, maybe what they could do is to remove the domed planetarium screen and hang a beautiful crystal chandelier from the center of the domed ceiling like I remember seeing crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceilings of the grand movie palaces that were built in the 1920s. If Cunard decides to keep the planetarium, I hope that they do install state of the art movie projectors and show both current & classic movies
  12. Well now that I think of it, I now remember that 35 mm film was no longer used starting around 2010, I'm not to certain of the date or if that is the exact year but I think that the movie is distributed either via a secure internet link or is it via a satellite link?
  13. i agree with your opinion that Illuminations should just become a state of the art cinema that shows current hit movies & classic movies. Does anyone here know that when movies are shown in Illuminations are movies shown using 35 millimeter film which is the same film used in movie theaters or do they use DVD discs or Blu-Ray discs?
  14. There is this other song called "Dancing Fool" by the late rock star Frank Zappa. It was a hit in 1979 and it was a spoof of the disco craze in the late 1970s
  15. Thanks for the great pictures. I being such a ship fanatic enjoyed viewing your photos.
  16. I'll ask the same question of "Will there be a bow to bow picture of both Queen Anne & Queen Victoria?
  17. And a Gold or Yellow neck tie could be an alternative to a Red neck tie
  18. Well for the 1st formal night when I'm aboard the QM2 for the November 20th to December 3rd Caribbean Cruise, I will be wearing a double breasted Black suit with a White dress shirt and a Red neck tie, so Karen of PA husband as a suggestion from me could wear a Red neck tie instead of a Black neck tie and the Black suit will be fine.
  19. If there are any Cunard passengers who did not like either Mary Mastony or Beatrice Muller well you won't see them aboard any of the 4 Cunard Queens anymore. Mary Mastony aka the QE2 Diva passed away on June 27,2018 and Beatrice Muller passed away on October 4,2013. And this morning with the help of Google I was able to find out the dates that both women passed away. I do not have anything bad to say about either woman so I'll leave it at that.
  20. I did get to see the QE2 Diva perform or sing opera during the passenger talent show aboard the QM2 in the Queens Room. The passengers enjoyed her act and applauded her at the end of her gig and I admit that I applauded also. Though I can not remember if she threw plastic roses into the audience but I did enjoy her act.
  21. What ever happened to Bea Muller who was the lady who lived aboard the QE2? The last I heard of her was when the QE2 was sold, she was not happy about that and wrote a letter to Micky Arison who is the chairman of Carnival Corporation the parent company that owns Cunard. Bea was offered cabin space aboard either QM2 or Queen Victoria but she turned down both ships. I did see her aboard QM2 in 2010. And does anyone know what ever happened to another elderly woman known as the QE2 Diva? She was very talented in singing opera and it was the wife of one of the Cunard captains that gave her the name QE2 Diva.
  22. So I see that Queen Anne is docked at Ocean Dock Berth 46 where the current Ocean Terminal is located. I'm an American and I know that Ocean Dock is a U shaped 3 sided dock and I have been to Southampton 4 different times on round trip NY to NY transatlantic crossings aboard QM2. Where Queen Anne is docked, Berth 46 is the West side of Ocean Dock. The East side of Ocean Dock which can be seen from one of the pictures that Westcoasttech sent in this thread, is Berth 44 where the Titanic docked at and the original Ocean Terminal was located at Berth 44. Anyway enjoy your cruise aboard Queen Anne, Westcoasttech
