Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I got my refund check! 90 days plus. I now see in the news a couple big travel agencies announcing they have suspended selling AQV cruises. I think we are seeing AQV circling the drain. Be very careful if you book a cruise with them and make sure you put it on your credit card so you can dispute the charge. Best of luck to all of you trying to get refunds. It is a very long and timely process.
  2. We have been on Regent a few times at Christmas. Decorations in common areas and at entry into dining rooms, but I don't remember anything on our individual tables or in the suites. We almost always buy flowers on shore before boarding the ship, to decorate our stateroom. Cruise lines often provide some type of flowers in the suites, but we like BIG seasonal flowers on our tables. We also bring small seasonal decorations, table clothes etc to decorate under or around our flowers. We like our space to be festive. Often our room stewards want our decorations for their rooms when we leave the cruise. The big holiday question for us is will they have eggnog! I have made a special request in the past and they figure out how to make it in about 24 hours!
  3. Please note, I just got the FCC $ amount offered for the Dec 21 (Miami cruise) credited towards an already fully paid for cruise booked on Regent for April 2024! I just got the paper work showing the full FCC amount is being credited back to my credit card! I don't have to buy another cruise in the next year etc. The paperwork they gave us states the FCC has to be used on a new cruise booking, but Regent is folding under the pressure of disappointed cruisers! For those fully booked out many years like us, get that FCC credited to a cruise already booked! Good luck!
  4. I am so happy to see all the activity on Cruise Critic related to the MAJOR itinerary changes on our Regent Cruise departing out of MIAMI on December 21st. I totally agree with most of you on a MAJOR disappointment with $500 room credit. Oh, a credit towards a future cruise! Oh goody! NOT. We prebook our cruises two or more years so we can get cabins we want. With all the restrictions they have put on the 20% credit towards a future cruise, there is no way we can use it. I say the credit should be booked in the next two years and good for cruises 3 years out! Or let us use the credit on an existing cruise we have booked. We have a back-to-back booked for April 2024. Let us put the credit on this future cruise. We have had a family home in PV for over thirty years. Oh Goody! We get to go to PV? NO!!!!!! We were just there two weeks ago for two weeks. An extra night in Los Angeles! Oh Goody! We lived in the Los Angeles area for over 30 years. We really wanted to go to Ensenada as we were there several years ago and had a great wine tasting experience. We also really wanted to see Acapulco. We have never been there. The changes are clearly done for the economics of Regent. They are going to have a lot of us complaining on the ship! We have taken several Regent trips before but are leaning more and more towards Oceania. We have taken five Oceania trips in the last couple years and really enjoyed them. You might want to check them out. They seem to be able to stay on their scheduled itineraries pretty well from our experience. I also find almost all tours fully booked by the time we are allowed to book a shore excursion. They say shore excursions are included, but they need to put a big astricts on that one! Shore excursions included if you book a fancy suite. Nothing available if you are only paying $1000 a night each for the cruise. I also am still waiting to see what exciting excursions will be available for us lowly suite occupants in PV and Los Angeles! I have a feeling NOTHING of any value by the time they let us choose our tours. This tour booking wasn't a big problem on our previous Regent cruises. Unlimited Tours. NOT! This whole itinerary mess is making me question why we have booked cruises on Regent. Moving over to Oceania and abandoning Regent is starting to look more of a probability. I know they are both NCL owned, but you should get what you pay for! I am not feeling like we are getting it on Regent at this point. REGENT! I would love to see your response to my comments! I WAS A GOOD CUSTOMER. NOT FEELING THE LOVE AT THIS POINT!
  5. My latest communication with AQV is now they will try and get my refund to me AFTER THE HOLIDAYS! What a joke. They have had my full payment for over TWO YEARS! AQV is clearly not a reputable company. Please let everyone that wants to know, how awful they are. DON'T give this kind of company your hard-earned money. I will continue to complain until I get my refund. Best luck to the rest of you in the same predicament. I think they feel they can abuse Senior Citizens as we don't know how to use the internet as well of young people. Lets show them they are wrong! Get out there and keep complaining!
  6. Still trying to get my refund! I paid in full for a cruise more than a year in advance. They totally changed the itinerary, and we requested a full refund. I have been promised a refund for a couple months and still no refund. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and AQV promised them they would be processing our refund right away. Basically, AQV lied to the BBB. I cannot believe how difficult it is to get a refund. They have been holding onto my money since Nov 11, 2021 ! That is over two years. I honestly keep thinking I will see AQV has gone bankrupt! They are clearly having a cash flow problems. I did a little research and found AQV is owned by Hornblower Group, which is actually owned by Crestview. Crestview is based in NYC. Crestview is a firm that basically buys and sells companies for their investors. I would think AQV is cash strapped and cannot process refunds as they do not have the money. I have contacted AQV John Waggoner (CEO) and requested a face to face meeting. I want to know where my refund is and why anyone would ever want to book a cruise with AQV? Anyone out there have any suggestions on how I can ever get my refund? I would appreciate any feedback and assistance on this issue. Thank you.
  7. We are still trying to get a refund form American Queen. They keep saying next month, next month. They totally changed our itinerary (100% change) without telling us. We find out just two months from departure that we were transferred to a totally different cruise, with no notice to us. I called them as I had not received anything from them in so long. Surprise! Your itinerary has changed! I got approval for a refund and now I wait. They have had full payment of our cruise for almost two years! Do not pay for your cruises in full on this company until you absolutely have to. I am worried about the company going Bankrupt if they hold onto a client's funds and take many months to process a refund. Very poor business practices!
