Have you ever tried chomping on chocolate covered coffee beans? Highly portable and strong. -

Memories! My first cruise was on the Carnivale. Tablecloths, crumb scrapers, the whole bit. -

Quick work. How many more to go? 😊 -
Lead Guest Canceling (3 people in cabin)

Sounds like you’ve not had a broken bone with surgery. The first week to two weeks is rough..She will need to keep it elevated more often than not—not easy flying or standing in lines. It will swell, requiring icing. She can go but it well be very uncomfortable and inconvenient. And she will be on painkillers which as everyone knows do not mix with alcohol. Hope her friends are willing to help her dress and go to the bathroom. -
Obviously not asking for the definition of average. Just stating that the calculation for the entire US and all the diverse cost of living areas, is meaningless. You may want to go back to school to learn the difference between average and median which you seem to use interchangeably. It is meaningless to include millionaire salaries in calculations determining what is a living wage for a normal person. And where you live absolutely makes a big difference. I made no claims about age of restaurant workers. That was your bias.
-
You’ve already been proven wrong about that wage statement—very wrong. I thought you stated they don’t even get enough off hours to sleep but you want them on the internet. Or would there be a internet czar who would make sure they were only using it to talk to family? Bingo! I think crew would be happier if they were given a free massage once a week. Think how achy their muscles must be after catering to all the whims of passengers. It’s appalling the cruise line can’t provide massages—as it wouldn’t cost them anything. They could get them at night when the spa is closed to guests. Can we please start a petition? (Insert Tongue in cheek emoji)

Twin beds instead of King configuration

Always make requests in my cruise planner and have never been disappointed. No need for a TA. Just a computer. -
With the vast range of salaries, what does an average even mean? Cost of living certainly varies greatly across the US so comparing average US salary to an isolated area is meaningless. And comparing a college student restaurant worker to an aeronautics engineer is also meaningless. Even if you looked at median salaries it would be closer but still meaningless.

12 pack of water now $11.95. No warning?
2wheelin replied to jxtgreek's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
And amazingly they both allow you to drink tap water so no concern at all for me. -
So if you tested negative with symptoms, you would have done something differently than if you tested positive? The misery/contagion is the same covid or a cold. Also test isn’t always accurate if done to soon.
-
$112 times 4=$448. These are your “service” gratuities. Other auto grats (such as drinks) are not optional. Drinks however, are optional if your expenses are too high.
-
Not true. A very large number of them give only grief. Good advice but it can be extremely time consuming and you still need to get that in writing. I have had them promise gifts and credits which never showed up. And you definitely need to research what is your best price from the cruise line first. Their group rate is not always flexible to changes. A good TA is probably as important as a good friend.

Tell me about it! I’m from near Minneapolis.

Yes, another document/naming question
2wheelin replied to S.A.M.J.R.'s topic in Royal Caribbean International
The difference is that you HELPED them do it and gave them lots of good tips. The OP implied he did all the planning and just now realized he hadn’t thought about this earlier. No one advised you to keep it a secret and hope she figures it out on time. We just told you to let her make the decision about this (and maybe a few other things you just went ahead and planned) You knew what the choices were before posting. -
Yes, another document/naming question
2wheelin replied to S.A.M.J.R.'s topic in Royal Caribbean International
First thing you need to do is bring her into the conversation. Explain the situation and ask what she wants to do. This doesn’t mean saying, “Sweetie, I’m sure you want to use your married name on your seapass don’t you.” -
***Admins*** Can we get a sticky for Cheers! Questions?
2wheelin replied to grillinchillin's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
An even bigger help would be if people would put the subject in the title. So many posts with titles like: “question”, What would you do?”, “I am so frustrated”, “Do I have to”. -
17? 😂 You both missed the point! If you follow the thread, I was responding to a comment about checking IDs being the reason to follow a rule. But I guess I proved the point that people on CC choose which rules they will follow. I really don’t care either what the rule is, or even if they strictly enforce it, as long as people are not disturbing others. Too many people can’t judge what may disturb others tho. Other rules concerning bookings, what may be brought onto the ship, things that affect choices before leaving home, should be followed.
-
Now I understand. If they check IDs you tell your kid to follow the rules but if they don’t check, break the rules because you are special. A 15 year old could be perfectly courteous drinking in a bar—why should we care?? Because of the rule!!

Cancel vs. No-Show for 1st guest with casino offer

That means they don’t have other offers available. Available being the key word. How is that so hard to comprehend? -

Suck it up. People here complain all the time when Carnival is perceived to not enforce rules. When they do, people complain. Sorry your cousin can’t go but those are the risks. Casino players should be aware of risks. What if everyone a month before sailing decided to see what better promotions are out there and want to reprice. I realize that is not what you are doing, but others might not be so honest. Insurance should cover all in the room and then they can rebook with the current promotions? -
Was the plan for your mother to spend all her time in the solarium? Daughter can be with her at other times. Aunt can apparently relieve you so you can get respite. Will you need to plan ahead a bit more? Maybe. Find it interesting that daughter was so excited about the prospect of being old enough for the solarium when she apparently has never cruised before. At least not with you. Sometimes we need to tell children the plans have been changed. They’re more resilient than we give them credit for. And as others have said, if she is not creating a disturbance, no one will care if she is there. I can’t imagine anyone so rigid that this could be a deal breaker and canceling a cruise. There are plenty of quiet spots on any ship I have been on. Please look for the good (you still have your mom with you) and put the other on the back burner and have a good time. This can still be a great time for your daughter and her grandmother to be together. Give her plenty of time to go off on her own as well.

When he was under 18? I’ll bet he doesn’t know the recipe for most of the items in the dining room either,

I’m with you there. But what was proven is that not many posters have a sense of humor and would rather find fault with another human. Even on the off chance he was bragging, SO WHAT! -
