  1. And give you the last word where you assume your opinion is the only correct, or even the correct, one. You’ve wasted so much time here trying to convince people that your opinion needs to be adopted and followed by everyone, you could have had a whole new cruise planned in that amount of time. Move on!
  2. Exactly! It is up to you to protect yourself if you think it necessary by not putting your hands in your own mouth when you eat. It has nothing to do with what other people do in line—-unless they are actually touching the food. You can’t expect that’s every single person has just washed their hands sufficiently and not touched a railing, table, chair, etc on their way to the buffet. So it is always up to you to protect yourself as you see fit. And stop harping about other peoples manners.
  3. ———-Where it went to the laundry. Should he have used his shirt sleeve or just done the outdoorsman thing and——well you know where that lands.
  4. Don’t people make that choice when booking? We have always specified bed arrangement when booking and have never ever had a problem.
  5. I keep reading about people needing to make a special request for the bed arrangement after boarding.. I understand this letter may be a new thing but I have always had the option to choose when I book the cruise or in the cruise planner later. The last time was in May of this year. The beds (on several different cruise lines) have always been arranged as requested.
  6. Technically, it says “to expedite check-in and minimize waiting” check in together. It does not say that it is mandatory to check in together in all cases. It just MIGHT make it faster for you.
  7. They tell you tip included because you are not charged the auto tip. Whether the bar staff get that credit or not is another question. If I get a free drink the least I can do is tip the person making it.
  8. I assume your husband also has an income and you don’t mention children. How much gas does it take to get to and from your at home jobs? 😂
  9. My experience has been that if you show up shortly after early seating starts you will get a table if they have empties. Never turned away or had to wait.
  10. OMG people! Bottles on a cruise ship are plastic. Soda cans can be easily crushed without stomping on the floor. Easy enough to shake out that last drop in the sink and crush by hand for most people.
  11. They apparently need to add a “how to make the most efficient use of your garbage can” class for those who don’t know how to crush a can or bottle or stack papers efficiently.
  12. You didn’t earn it. You bought it and got all those cruises to enjoy along with it. Some of us had to be working to support families rather than vacationing while you were “earning” those rewards. You get your perks every cruise while FTTF need to purchase each time and it is small perks for the price. What’s the difference if one or two of them get ahead of you in line—5 minutes tops? Chill.
  13. The problem is those troublemaking families don't think their behavior is anything but normal. It's normal at home so why not on vacation, and even amp it up a bit.
  14. If you are packing a large ziplock bag of medicine bottles, you are more likely to get questioned. One container with an assortment of pills they are not even going to notice.
  15. Another good reason to put them in generic containers with incomplete names. (After arriving in country if you are nervous). How many people have actually been checked for drugs or Px? I have traveled extensively and while I don’t have anything more potent than Tylenol, everything goes into a little container. I know which is which or write a list. I have never been asked what I have. I can’t imagine carrying all that empty space in pill bottles around. Maybe this is why some people get on the ship with 3 suitcases. 😂
  16. And since I’m paying enough for two they should just give me the second one. 😂
  17. You can EXPECT there to be just as much cereal in a box as there was three years ago too but there isn’t. The box is the same size and the price went up. You don’t get to choose what they provide. Unfortunately we do get to adjust our tips but fully charged gratuities pay for once a day service. You can’t change that. It became everyone’s business when you posted here. That’s what this forum is about. I don’t expect my beliefs to have any influence on you because you are right!!! End of story!
  18. The gratuities pay for the service they provide and if they say that service is once a day, that is what your are paying for. I don’t know where you get the idea you can decide what service they should provide just because they previously did it. You know before you go what they provide and what they expect in gratuities so if you don’t like it, don’t go. Just don’t stiff the people providing you with a service, which by the way is at least 95% of what it was before. No way is it half or your side of the bed would not be made. You really believe these companies are relying that heavily on your halved gratuities to make their business decisions. Most of us don’t need that much attention. We know how to throw trash in the basket and hang up a towel. Some people are just needy I guess.
  19. I don’t know where you have been sailing since the restart but once a day is standard (with extras like ice whenever requested). This is what you are “paying” for. So you plan on stiffing all the other tipped positions. Or are you planning on eating only once a day too. When you had twice a day, not every service was repeated in the evening so you are still getting more than half what you did before the change. Prices have gone up for everything.
  20. But the industry or CL standard is one cleaning which you are paying for. Twice is an extra for which you should expect to tip more. You’re no longer paying for two. I usually only expected once a day but never cut the gratuities. Neither do I cut them because I keep my space clean and tidy, reuse my towel and don’t pile up garbage. I know how to crush a can or bottle before putting it in the trash.
  21. Sorry you live in such a society of dishonest people. My experience says otherwise. More people can be trusted than not. A certain segment of society——no. Maybe cruise employees are more trustworthy than the passengers.
