  1. We were on the sister ship, the Breakaway where we ate at all three main dining rooms. The menus were identical for all three. Reservations were not required and the wait times were no more than 15-20 minutes. Of the three dining rooms, we preferred the Manhattan, which I assume is the equivalent of the Getaway's Tropicana. It was the largest of the three dining rooms. It had live music and a dance floor. On the two nights where there was a production show, we made reservations prior to cruising. The Maitre d' seated us at tables next to the dance floor. Not that there was a lot of dancing. The dancers were mostly kids and they were close to the stage. The one time we did not have a reservation, we were seated much further from the dance floor. No big deal, though. For us, we were fine at any of the dining rooms, but my personal preference was the Manhattan Room as it was the largest dining room, with live music and it felt like a main dining room on a cruise ship. The Savor and Taste were smaller venues and they felt more like a restaurant than a main dining room.
  2. On our 9 day cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway, we chose the Social Media option, which was unlimited access to Facebook. I was able to upload lots of pictures and it was pretty quick. Also, I was able to use the internet without any issue. My 14 year old son was also able to use the internet on his phone when I was not logged in. So you can transfer this on various devices, but you can only use one device at a time. The cost for this was $135.00 for the 9 days.
  3. We were in the Baltics from August 18 to 27th on the Breakaway. The majority of the time we had great weather. It rained in the afternoon in Copenhagen a day before the cruise, but the temperature was hot. Berlin was sunny and hot. We had rain in the afternoon of our sea day, and it was a little cool. For the rest of the trip, it was sunny (overcast one day in St. Petersburg) and it was cool. It was raining in Copenhagen when we returned. There were some windy days throughout as well. Definitely bring a jacket with you.
  4. Carnival Victory for me! I love the ceiling in the atrium. All that green....
  5. On the Breakaway in August, there was a show called "Rock the Pour House" at Syd Normans. I'm not sure if that was the name of the band, or the show. Anyway, the band featured a singer named Mig, who was a contestant on a reality show "Rockstar: INXS". He was high energy, and a lot of fun. The band played all sorts of Rock & Roll favourites. The venue reminded me of a neighbourhood bar. The drinks were good. The venue was always full, but people did come and go, so if you wait a bit, you could get a seat, and move even closer to the stage as other people get up and leave. Syd Normas was one of my favourite spots on the Norwegian Breakaway.
  6. We used Best Gudes for both St. Petersburg and Berlin. It turned out that our Best Guides Tour to Berlin was conducted by TJ Travel. To us there was no difference as to which company we used, the excursion to Berlin was excellent. The personnel at TJ had us on their list and did not discriminate because we were paying their "competion". Everything was well organized and we had a great time. Our Berlin tour was three days ahead of our St. Petersburg tour. We paid for both tours in St. Petersburg on the morning of our second day of our two day St. Petersburg excursion. For the record, we used the following tour companies on our Baltic Sea cruise: Copenhagen - Hamlet Tours - Grand Inner City Tour Warnemunde - Best Guides - Classical Berlin Tallinn - Saku Travel - Tallinn Highlights On Wheels and On Foot St. Petersburg - Best Guides - All St. Petersburg Grand Helsinki - SPB Tours - Panoramic Helsinki + Seurasaari Island Nynashamn - SPB Tours - Stockholm Highlights from Nynashamn
  7. The two rooms that we had at the Radison Blu Scandinavia Hotel two weeks ago did not have air conditioning. The windows opened though.
