  1. I just booked NCL ESCAPE for 2016 ,

But I am not sure which promo to pick.

Beverage Package VS Unlimited Dinning Package?

Me and my wife don't drink much , may be one or two drinks a day the most.

but we would love dinning at different restaurants , But at this time NCL is not sure which restaurants in ESCAPE will be included in this package ...

which one would you pick and which one have better value for money ?

  2. In October 2013 we sailed on the Serenade in the Mediterranean for 12 nights. Sailed out of Barcelona, Spain to Cannes, France; Livorno (Florence), Italy; Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy; Naples (Sorrento), Italy; Venice, Italy; Ravenna, Italy; and Dubrovnik, Croatia. Best itinerary ever. So many excursions to choose from and all of the ports were totally worth it, no duds. I would take that cruise again in a heartbeat!!! Highly recommend!!

How was the weather in October ?

  3. Best is what matches your interests.

I sailed a 12 day Med cruise on Celebrity Equinox from Barcelona to Rome, Naples, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Ephesus and Malta.

It was perfect in every way. I did miss seeing Venice and Florence but there's always next time.

Personally, I would never sail a 7 day Eurooean cruise unless I was combining it with a land trip. The cost and time involved in travel as well as jet lag are things to consider when taking a short cruise.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

May I ask which month you did this cruise?

How is weather in Barcelona in June , July and August?

  4. Why do you want to go to Europe? Do you have any specific interests (food/wine, culture, architecture, fjords etc etc)? Is it your first trip to Europe there? Thinking about these will help you decide which ports to go to and which itinerary to choose.

It is really hard to give you advice what is best without knowing any background and knowing what kind of experience are you looking for.

    Some things to consider:

    - If it's your first trip to Europe I would suggest choosing a mediterranean cruise that will include Portugal, Spain, France, Greece and Italy (or as many of these as possible :-)

    - Keep in mind that mediterranean weather is very different than Baltic sea and northern Europe - where it can be cool even in a summer, while some southern Europe ports can be very hot in mid July-August

    - Lisbon is one of my favorites, the old Lisbon is an amazing area just to wonder about and explore

    - Even though Croatia is not very popular it is really beautiful there, not as touristy as some other ports on itineraries

    - I prefer Greek islands over mainland ports - much smaller, charming and tons of fun :-)

Let me know if you have any more specific questions, I grew up in Europe and spent lots of time sailing around there.

I never been to Europe, So I am looking for good itinerary,

How is weather in Barcelona in June , July August?

  5. You said you're driving 4 hours, all to avoid what, a 1 or 2 hour stop?

Even a super long 4 hour layover would still be breakeven timewise (cheaper, with no gas expense). And you can spend that time actually doing something you enjoy like reading a book, watching a movie, instead of driving a car.

Too late for this trip, but I would re-consider how you actually spend your time next trip.

I had really bad experience with Stop overs, Last year flight was delayed due to lightning in summer , we missed the connection flight waited 7 hours in Boston and then one of our luggage was lost and we got it next morning. I rather be in car than stuck at the airport.

Plus the price I paid ( $79 including taxes) is too good to be true for non stop flight.

  6. The area near the the airport is very safe and surprisingly easy to navigate, almost no traffic on the north side of I-94 near the airport (Merriman Road Exit). Springhill Suites, Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites (free snacks and cocktails!) and others. Trust me it's a VERY easy area to get around in where the hotels are. Leonardo's Restaurant just north of the hotels is great!

I will start looking in to these hotel prices. Thank you

  7. Jet Blue has really good customer service. The important thing is to remember you are on vacation. Call them, and see what your options are. You may have to have a connecting flight, if that suits you better than driving early in the morning, or having a hotel night. However the end result is you get to the ship on time. Did you book through RCCL or yourself. If you booked it through RCCL, they would help you fix this. It cost the same amount of money booking through RCCL. (choice air).

No I booked directly with Jet Blue

  8. First check to see if JetBlue has another flight that suits your needs better. If so, call and ask for that one.

If JetBlue has nothing better for you, then check to see if there are good times/prices currently offered by other airlines that will work better for you. If so, consider asking JetBlue to refund you ticket; even if the fare was originally non-refundable, I think they have to let you have the refund since they made such a big change in your itinerary.

If no other carrier has a good flight at a fair price, you might be stuck with JetBlue's new flight time....I hope you find something that works better.

So far that's the only flight that is direct with Jetblue, All others Jetblue flights are stop overs.

It was really good deal, We paid $79 per person for non stop flight.

  9. For our August Oasis of the seas cruise , we booked JETBLUE non-stop Flight from Detroit leaving days earlier at 7PM. Since we are from Toronto and we were planning to drive( 4 Hours) to Detriot Airport and we thought this would be perfect flight .

This morning I got an email from Jet blue that our flight time has been changed from 7 PM to 7:30AM. That means we have to leave from from our home around Midnight Or drive evening before and sleep in Hotel in Detroit and take this early flight.

But this will cause so much inconvenience.... and extra expenses...

Does anyone had similar experience ? and what are our other options....

  10. I am not sure how correct this information is, But I called RCCL this morning about the same as I only got 1 page of set sail pass. No luggage tags for my December cruise. As per RCCL, I should be able to print my luggage tags with cruise documentation which will be ready after 49 days left for my sailing.

Again , not sure if this is correct info.....
