  1. Yes! We will be flying back to NY also! Great advice from everyone! Thank you. Now I have a LOT to consider
  2. Thank you! I didn't even think of that regarding the flights! Great advice!
  3. We're looking at booking a cruise to Alaska in 2021. It appears that June will be the best month that works for us. I'm only Platinum on Royal and currently have 2 cruises booked on Celebrity. I love having the drink package I'm just not sure if I should ditch all the others and go with Princess or Holland (never been on either.). Where do we start, Vancouver or Seward? North bound, South bound or close loop? Should we spend the extra $$ on a balcony? No kids, 2 couples. I really just need to know what to book then I can figure everything else out. **side note, we have to have at least one stop in Juneau since husband was born there**
  4. We just went to Leonards also. I see your from Jersey. There's no comparison to what we can get here. We had 5 of us and none of us were impressed. we all wished we had a zeppoli instead!
  5. Dole plantation is nice. I recommend having one of the employees cut a pineapple for you ($7) they put it in a Styrofoam plate box and I swear its at least 2 pineapples. You have to ask the employee (don't go to where the food is) Also, be sure to ask them to pick out a pineapple to take home! I don't recommend Budget (car was junk) but be prepared for lots of traffic on H! and H2. Easy to get to the Dole plantation but its near Schofield Barracks and North shore. Schofield will be busy between 3-5 and north shore is always busy! Great trip, enjoy!
  6. My kids just did an open water shark dive in Oahu. They loved it. Its called one ocean diving. NO CAGE. So be ready. They swam with 19 sharks and was educated about sharks the whole time. I would highly recommend them. Do know, they won't go out unless there are at least 4 people. Great experience. Enjoy!
  7. Just got back from Hawaii and boy did we burn our backs from snorkeling. We use Sunbum (Costco sells 3 for $18) also, I would recommend just wearing a rash guard all day snorkeling. We were out there for hours and didn't realize it and burned. You definitely have to reapply every hour!
  8. Just got back from Hawaii. we were In line to check our bags when we were told we had to get out of line and go to the Ag scan first. Make sure you look for that before anything! And surprisingly, the airport was quiet busy!
  9. We booked a sting ray excursion thru viator last year. When we tendered, we got off and they cancelled the tour because of rough seas. I immediately called viator. after about 3 calls, I was able to get my money back. Since then, I have chosen not to use a 3rd party pre pay. I now pay when I arrive! Enjoy your cruise and hope the weather pans out!
  10. I was on the same cruise and totally agree with everything. Why do we still go to Nassau????
  11. Do you. Again, I'm in a bella balcony got a military discount (10%) brought the price to 1900 then got 5% status match for platinum, drinks on us and only paid for my teenage daughters port fees (kids sail free) Sailing spring break easter week for $1800.00. Booked this one year ago tomorrow. I love how on Cruise critic, you always have to prove you really did save the money!
  12. I have a veteran and status match on my cruise for next week.
  13. Same here. Just call and have it applied! And don't forget to status match too. You will get a discount for that also.
  14. park at Newark airport parking at one of the hotels or car spot then uber to the port. Should cost no more than $8 a day and uber maybe $15.
