  1. Welcome to CC…….. If a fun tour is sought, then consider https://adventureantigua.com/activities/the-xtreme-circumnav/ And compare the elements against the NCL offering. Book very early. Xtreme sell out fast, as space is limited to the boat seating, being very popular with holidaymakers and cruisers.
  2. Yes…. Along a main road/artery busy with cars and heavy vehicle traffic. Pavements/Sidewalk very narrow - About 20 minutes walk to town. Take a cab. Better still, see the island with all it offers with https://www.karamboletoursmartinique.com
  3. Dinner - Take the Wine Pairing Menu. Book early as very popular with Embassies, Government, Residents, Holidaymakers and Cruisers For music, suggest contacting the SJ Tourist Office for events on one’s day Or for a happy 3 Hours The Mezzanine from 4 pm
  4. Or ask the official Tourist Office….. https://www.st-martin.org/us/
  5. Yes…. Both venues serving good food/drinks. Karibuni is part of the Hotel, but is open to reservations for a day visit if there is availability. If having any questions regard any of the venues, they will be happy to answer. Yellow Menu - https://www.yellowbeach.restaurant/menu Karibuni Menu - https://www.lekaribuni.com/restaurant/menu
  6. Take the short ferry ride to Pinel Island Ferry: https://www.caribbeanpaddling.com/blog/ferry-schedule-to-pinel-island?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA8NKtBhBtEiwAq5aX2IkIXB_Ca0WWtfOvsXA_T2_PUC-PPertHs8lKoVBnrLsAHhibtrhrxoCcNgQAvD_BwE Beaches: https://www.lekaribuni.com/restaurant https://www.yellowbeach.restaurant As these beaches are popular with residents, stayers and cruisers, therefore space is very limited. Best to book well in advance to secure on’s beds and day.
  7. Heavy rain or not, it will still cause “problems”. Remember the tidal run the beach…. It does not “refresh” quickly. If one is committed to attending Great Bay, then walk West to the far end of beach to select beds. Or, if wishing to stay local then Divi, just round the headland. But do consider CCCO on Orient, with a cab back to Phillipsburg to shop.
  8. Best recommendation. Take the short ferry ride from Orient Beach to Pinel Island https://www.st-martin.org/us/learn-more/must-sees/saint-martins-pinel-island/ for a swim/snorkel in the protected Marine Park. Make a one’s “base” on Pinel at either Karibuni or Yellow Beach on Pinel Good Snorkelling along a designated, also safe, reef area for gentle waves snorkelling, ideal for little ones to swim or snorkel with adults. For any adults being a much stronger swimmers then head for bigger rocks/waves with more fish round the headland to the north. Ferry: https://www.caribbeanpaddling.com/blog/ferry-schedule-to-pinel-island Karibuni: https://www.lekaribuni.com/restaurant Yellow: https://www.yellowbeach.restaurant As these beach stays are popular with residents, stayers and cruisers, therefore space is limited. Best to book well in advance.
  9. Reiterating one’s thoughts and observations months ago.. Ship capacity say 3000 pax - Theatre maximum capacity 835 pax = 4 shows per evening. Do the Math on timings, including troop recovery period between shows. With the first show say at 19.00
  10. Alternatively, copy what one has undertaken, use the search facility (imbedded in top bar of thread) ) using a “key word” (name of hotel etc).
  11. Yes, simple and ethnic….. Custom will be appreciated and valued…. Let them know your arrival date/time and party size, so they can set up the beds. Also, if one wishes an all inclusive then here is the link to a recent thread
  12. Ask……. https://www.visitantiguabarbuda.com/contact-us/ They will know
  13. Half Moon is a secluded beach, but no facilities, no beds etc., with good, but variable, snorkelling to the far left when looking out to sea. On first visit, just exploring by oneself one will miss out on so many places, the history, culture, etc. Consider a group tour with Lawrence of Antigua, taking in the sights etc., then while driving note a beach or two of interest for one’s next visit. Popular (ease of reach) beaches will always be busy, leaving the more upmarket venues alone (published in many posts) If of interest, there is a recent exchange on AI resort (previously overlooked) Lastly, if there is a special treat required, take a look at a Rock Pool day at Sheer Rocks, can confirm it’s a luxurious pampering day, with truly wonderful views. The ambiance, food, drinks and service are excellent. Hope one finds something. No doubt other CC members will post to assist.
  14. Never taken it…. However, the ship will probably be the powered Cat ‘Elegance’. As a “Ship” tour the boat will be rammed with 50/60 pax (sometimes even more to max out the ship profits). Not the usual number of pax for their own tours. On this ship tour one is usually guaranteed noise, drunks, embarrassing (booze cruise) behaviour etc.. If one wishes to do a circumnavigation in a small party, with adrenaline, then consider https://adventureantigua.com/activities/the-xtreme-circumnav/ Book early as space is limited…..
  15. Plenty of cabs from quayside, Taxi Fares …… work on “Darkwood Rate” Taxi Fares ……https://www.antiguanice.com/v2/documents/Taxi and tour fares - ABTB final.pdf Outward driver will be pleased to be booked for the timed return.
  16. Travel savvy? For what it’s worth. I was a Shotokan 2nd, and competed. I would stay on the ship.
  17. No idea….. would not give any advice….. except STAY ON THE SHIP
  18. If one feels the need to go for a walk, then wear a full suit of body armour a Kevlar mask, helmet and carry a pair of fully loaded XM556
  19. Fact…. Friends thought to go “outside” the dock area to buy a Burger from a well known establishment. On exit of the burger bar, wallet, cash, credit cards, Wife’s watch robbed at gun point. All in daylight. Police and witnesses not interested. STAY ON THE SHIP!!!!!!!
  20. To assist, a screenshot of website showing a view from the ship of the Emporium. Note the side streets left/right with market stalls…..
  21. One can see the market stalls from the ship, along the quayside and up through the side streets. Opposite the ship is a Duty Free Emporium (building with green shutters, steps leading up to the entrance door), where inside are displays selling a great variety of leather goods, gifts, liquor, souvenirs and local crafts.
  22. Think the admission fee includes transport there and return. Book one’s visit online https://chukka.com/destinations/barbados/harrisons-cave/
  23. Try Charles (Charlie’s Angels) - phone number. 340 514 5000. It’s been a few years since, but consider him the best. Good Luck
  24. Out of courtesy one will let @TTEllis know of you kind efforts and the posting same. Todd is always seeking advice on AI’s
