Good afternoon. This discussion is helping me immensely for the planning stages of our Norwegian Fjords cruise. We are yet to book it but hope to very soon. Hubby & I definitely would love to do the train from Bergen to Oslo, but I’m a little confused with the website vy.no as it only appears in Norwegian! I’m I doing something wrong, please help! 🥴🥴 Vicki.

Hi CCWineLover, yep, that’s 100% correct. I’ve spoken with a Viking Rep again this morning & there is no $25 booking deposit for us. We certainly do have different terms & conditions & one of those is included Gratuities, which I do like. We are now seriously looking at the 2025 Into the Midnight Sun cruise, very excited. Thank you TiiiSailor. I have notified the cruises are now listed for June 2025 & we are very interested. The only hesitancy is that the deposit of $1,000 per person (which is fine price wise) is completely non refundable & we are not allowed to move the deposit to another cruise, for any reason. This was the case when I spoke with a Viking Rep here in Australia around 6 months ago. Now, not that we would necessarily would want to do this, but given the cruise isn’t until 2025, things do come up. I was strongly advised to get travel insurance, which we always do, but it’s still a bit of a concern to me. Do you know if these cruises sell out quickly? We have not sailed with Viking but very much like the look of their ships & what they offer. Also, are the ‘included’ tours worthwhile or do you find booking their paid tours better? My DH and I are also looking at Viking's Midnight Sun cruise, we have not cruised with Viking before but we very much like the look of their ships and offerings onboard. Firstly I’ll apologise if this has already been discussed, but I couldn’t see anything. Hubby & I will be in Dubai at the conclusion of our cruse in Nov 2023 & I’m interested to hear of some hotel recommendations for a 2/3 night stay in Dubai. We have been to Dubai before but this was an overnight stay on a Princess cruise in 2018. Not sure where to base ourselves, in the City or by the beach, also are taxi’s expensive in Dubai? I'm following this topic with much interest as Hubby and I are also very keen to experience Viking for the first time. We are particularly interested in the Norwegian Fjords and would also like to thank everyone for your input and it's also answered some of the questions I had. Vicki. 🙂

Hi all, I realise I'm thinking well in advance, but could anyone give me a rough idea of when Princess will release their 2025 Norwegian Fjords/Land of the Midnight Sun cruises? Thanks for any advice. Vicki. 🙂

We have done this cruise a couple of times cruise & it’s fantastic, even on the Solstice on one occasion. Cannot recall where she was located at the dock, sorry. My recommendation for accommodation would be the Prince Waikiki, we found it to be very safe, comfortable, very clean & quiet. It’s not necessarily cheap but would highly recommend it. It’s located near the Ala Moana shopping centre so towards the port but I would imagine you would need a taxi especially with luggage. Hope that helps & enjoy your cruise. Vicki. 😊

Just had a look at her webcam & it's showing ‘heading to Eden’. I didn’t hear anything on this mornings news. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I rang our local Viking office today to ask their booking conditions, we are from Australia. I was informed we would need to pay $1,000.00 per person (this is more for a longer or a World cruise), our final payment date would be 120 days from the departure date. This $1,000.00 per person deposit is completely non refundable should we wish to cancel, or are unable to cruise for any reason. There is no opportunity for a Future Credit of our deposit monies and naturally I was advised to get Travel Insurance as soon as is possible after the deposit is paid. I thought this was all quite reasonable. Stay safe and well. Vicki. 🙂
