  1. Don’t worry about my name - I answer to anything!
  2. Thanks for posting the link to your cruise review Host Jazzbeau. It was fascinating - I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
  3. I can certainly see the difference, nordski! We woke up to a beautiful sunrise this morning.
  4. I totally agree about piped music -I hate it! I made a comment about this on the survey.
  5. Azamara will always do their best to meet customers needs/wants.
  6. Couldn’t resist taking a photo of these lovely autumn berries on our riverside walk today. I think it’s a Spindle Tree (Euonymus Europaeus) but I’m not certain - anyone else know for sure?
  7. You can always book excursions in your account & pay by credit card, then as soon as you get onboard go to the excursions desk, cancel the booked excursions to get a refund to your credit card & immediately rebook them using your TA provided OBC. Just make sure you give sufficient notice (48hours for most excursions, tho’ a few special ones that involve overnight stays are 30 days).
  8. Depends where you stay & where you go. You can walk around some lovely areas where there are few tourists. We had a great walk around the Jewish Quarter and saw very few other people. Just avoid the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square and the route between them.
  9. Another suggestion for Venice is to book the ‘secret itineraries’ tour of the Doge’s Palace. They offer the tour in English and it’s great. You get to see behind the scenes, including the cell where Casanova was held. https://www.venice-museum.com/secret-itineraries-doge-palace.php?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxbf8j9638wIVFeR3Ch00UgS2EAAYAyAAEgJ3pfD_BwE
  10. Venice is wonderful and it’s perfectly possible to avoid the crowds. Go to the ‘tourist’ areas (especially the Rialto Bridge & St Marks Square) either first thing in the morning or in the evening, get a Vaporretto to the islands, walk around the quieter areas (e.g the Jewish Quarter). Before you do anything else, take a Vaporretto from one end of the Grand Canal to the other to get the feel of the place. We had a week there, but stayed on the Lido, which is quieter, and took the Vaporretto every day.
  11. Azamara provides free shuttles when it is docked outside a town (with a few exceptions in towns where the local taxi union doesn’t allow this).
  12. You seem to assume that Azamara know the situation in every country all the time and that this does no change. In fact the situation seems to be pretty fluid. Let’s face it, Azamara could have made things easy for themselves by simply saying that passengers can only go ashore on ships excursions whatever country they are in, instead they are doing their best to allow people off on their own wherever possible. I think that deserves plaudits rather than complaints.
  13. Thank you for the photos, mice. I’d never heard of Bannerman Castle and have looked it up - what an amazing building and interesting history too. Sounds as if you had a lovely day!
  14. Thanks again, uktog. So helpful to hear all the wrinkles of travelling in current circumstances, and great to see all your photos, especially of the menus and food!
  15. I have no knowledge of this, but I would have said that if you had a dated screenshot of the UK website with that guarantee on it, then it would be hard for them to say it doesn’t apply to a UK booking made up to the screenshot date! Sounds like the onboard team are making it up as they go along!
  16. In current circumstances even noon may be a bit early. It depends how they organise disembarkation in current COVID times. I think it’s likely to be more staggered than previously.
  17. UK offer isn’t nearly as good- $500 OBC & free Wifi, no price reduction.
  18. I’ve not always found the invoice accurate in this respect, and when I bought an ‘Experience More’ package I didn’t get a new invoice showing the new OBC amount. I rely on the amount shown in ‘My Account’.
  19. Johannes showed photos of new Greek dishes on his social media page - he was tasting them.
  20. They had queues in Manchester going out, but walked straight through Corfu airport & had their luggage in half an hour after the plane landed there.
  21. Interesting that they are looking at Passenger Locator forms in Athens. My daughter & family (2 vaccinated adults & 2 unvaccinated 15year olds) flew to Corfu in July and no-one looked at any of their paperwork in Corfu airport!
  22. Thanks, Anne. It will be very interesting and helpful to have another perspective on travel in general, and Azamara in particular. Hope you have a wonderful time.
