So excited to follow this! Getting off a RCCL cruise and think I need to sail Ecstasy again before she sails into the sunset forever. We ran from Katrina on her a looooong time ago.

I like both, but we find cruising fits our family lifestyle better right now. My husband travels 90% of the time, so he loves cruises where he can genuinely unplug and relax. I don’t know if you’ve seen all the port of call boards; many places have lots of safe excursion options that aren’t tied to the cruise ship. That may give you a *little* more balance those two vacation options! Oh, and to steer things back on course: I don’t care if the mashed potatoes are instant or not. They add unicorn dust or something, because those suckers are GOOD. 🤣

We are sailing Monday, too. The current group heard from a crew that 130 people didn’t make it on the ship because they had COVID. So there’s that.

I’m so sorry about your mother. We buried two teachers at my school in the last six months. COVID has taken so much from so many. I wish folks would be kind about it. But I realize asking kindness of anyone on any side of any issue now is just too much.

I mean, I want to win the Powerball, but it just doesn’t happen. We are headed on a cruise in a few weeks that’s booked to 100%. We sailed Celebrity when it was 40%. The cruise lines are fighting rising costs and mounting debt and, frankly, need to make money. We are all aware of the risks we are choosing to take when we board. To quote both The Rolling Stones and Yo Gabba Gabba, “You can’t always get what you want.”

You want no masks, but you want reduced capacity? Sounds a little hypocritical, but go off, I guess?
