Your beef lunch dish looks like perfect comfort food on a chilly day š. How did it taste? -
Goodness, I hope not. Weāve an AC flight booked for early Jan from YYZ to YVR to connect to an Air NZ flight. I was hoping this pilots strike situation would be resolved by then. š¬

Travel insurance, who do you use for trip interruptions etc
Barwick Cruiser replied to rowval's topic in Canadian Cruisers
We have medical through my husbands work, heās retired now but still covered so for out of province/country trips we recently bought interruption/cancellation thru Costco. They use Manulife. We found it difficult to get just C&I insurance without buying medical as well. -
Still confused re. Classic vs. Premium drink packages
Barwick Cruiser replied to Jose Zalfadilla's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Premium coffees are those without alcohol, such as lattes, cappuccino, Americans etc. Once you add alcohol they become specialty coffees and are only covered by the premium package, or by paying the difference plus 20% if you have the classic package. A few of the alcohol coffees are covered by classic package but most arenāt. Adding a shot of Baileys to your coffee adds a cost of $1.20 if youāre on the classic package. -
Still confused re. Classic vs. Premium drink packages
Barwick Cruiser replied to Jose Zalfadilla's topic in Celebrity Cruises
And, for non alcohol drinks you pay the full priceā¦waters, smoothies etc. We had the Classic package on our last cruise and even with the additional charges for purchases over the classic limit we didnāt come close to what it wouldāve cost to upgrade. Obviously thatās a variable depending on what and how much you drink however keep in mind that you can just go with the classic and paying the up charge for a few days and then see whether it would pay to upgrade. Some days we mightāve broke even and other days, especially port days we didnāt come close. Ymmv. -
Wow, took me 6 pages to catch up but so glad I saw this threadā¦love your postings @Jim_Iain! Hope you have a wonderful time, youāre only a couple hours west of me when you disembark in Toronto. Beautiful itinerary and although itās early you might be lucky and see some Fall colours! š Cathy

The difference is most likely due to the reduced number of passengers. July would be a busy month with passengers but August would be swamped. Agree about the dishes being left in the hallway..weāve never had an issue with our attendant removing used dishes from inside our cabin, not sure why passengers think this is acceptable. Canāt imagine what their homes look like. To the OP, thanks for posting your review, as another poster wrote, very few current reviews on the board. š

When do we apply for Nexus renewal?
Barwick Cruiser replied to Barwick Cruiser's topic in Canadian Cruisers
Because of the backlog in applications and renewals, theyāre allowing you to use your current card, even if expired, so long as youāve initiated the renewals process. You should all be fine. Weāre currently waiting for renewals on our cards which donāt expire until next May but will def be using them in January and May when we travel down under (NZ) and to Europe whether renewed or not. Weāre just hoping we wonāt need to do interviews again š¤ -

Canadian flights Ottawa to Fll or Mia
Barwick Cruiser replied to PatandStu's topic in Canadian Cruisers
Yes, that is what I meant š¤¦š¼āāļø Thatās what I was thinking would happen as well, thus why 90 minutes could be a tight connection. Knew someone would have relevant info! Thx @Fouremco -
Thank you for this wonderful report and your beautiful pictures. Weāve done Alaska twice but havenāt done a land portion in Alaska which weād like to do next time. Weāre torn between adding a cruise line land tour or just flying in and doing it on our own before embarking the ship. Would you do it the same if you were to repeat or do you think youād see more and have more flexibility doing the land portion on your own? Thank again and safe travels home!

Canadian flights Ottawa to Fll or Mia
Barwick Cruiser replied to PatandStu's topic in Canadian Cruisers
Will you be able to go thru customs in Ottawa or will you have to do that in Toronto? Might make your 90 minute connection a bit tight? So nice that you are able to travel with your parents, hope you all have a wonderful holiday! -
$100,000 for a Bottle of Wine! Just, Why?
Barwick Cruiser replied to NorthStarStateCruiser's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Couldnāt they just return the sealed bottle for refund, or sell it online, and use the money to buy some decent lobster and beef? The whole ship could enjoy! š š -
Thank you for this helpful explanation. We are leaving from Amsterdam but returning to Rotterdam. Getting to our Airbnb prior and then to the port seems straightforward itās getting from R to Schipol at the end, in a timely yet cheaper fashion that weāre trying to sort. Seems like we can walk to a tram station near the disembarkation and take that to the train station. From there itās direct ride to Schipol. š¤ Did you purchase a transit chip card or just use your credit card?

When do we apply for Nexus renewal?
Barwick Cruiser replied to Barwick Cruiser's topic in Canadian Cruisers
Our credit card was charged about three weeks ago, havenāt heard anything else. No news is good news? -
We disembark on a Thursday in June. The only nonstop AC flight is at 12:15pmā¦Iām thinking that would be too tight? Other option is same flight next day and we stay either in Rotterdam or closer to Schipol. Of course that adds to the expense of the trip. KLM has 2 non stop flights at 10:50am (never make that) or 5:50pm. If we took that later one weād have plenty of time to get to Schipol and could maybe store our bags in a locker until we can checkin? Thanks for the suggestions!
