I boarded at Pier 27 this past May, I got there at about 11:00 am. The line was out the door and around the corner. There was only two lines before security, one for those who had their Medallions and other long line for those without. I did not see an area for waiting. Yes, as an Elite I was very surprised. Others in line were surprised too.

I stay at Westin Bayshore several times. I cab it to Westin due to not wanting drag my bags. That was about $6 Canadian dollars and most cabs take credit cards too. Yes, it right next to the water. Don't know when you will be there. But in May the Tulips are in bloom at Stanley Park. If I don't dine at hotel I usually go to Cardero's. The is about 100 feet away and it has both inside dining and outside dining. I done the hop on and hop off which is fun. I had afternoon tea at Fish house in Stanley Park. Oh you can rent bikes to go around Stanley Park.There is a part of Chinatown to stay out of. So ask the hotel which part that is.

I sailed on Discovery in May. I had set dining time. First night was fun with 2 other couples.. But due to random assigning never seat with them again even when they were in line. I really did not like each night with different people. Felt like I need a recorder to play "my name and place where I live". In the next weeks I trying another cruise line to see if it is the same...

I agree the new dining does not work for me. I was on the Sky Princess with the new dining. I met with 2 couples and we hit it off. But after the first night no longer could arrange for same table mates. Every night having to say my name, where I am from was no fun. I opt for Crown Grill some times due to this. But then I had OBC to use. Slow service was another problem so just opt to have no desert and leave after 2 hours.

I too can not wait for things to get back to normal or sorta. I was on Sky Princess in May. My balcony was lovely and cabin steward was great. But there it ends. There was no setting at dinner with same people as before. Yep, don't really love saying my name and where I live over and over again. Dinner were long and twice I left before desert after 2 hours. Will not go into show times and when you can get into dining room.
