  1. \ Sunbury Plantation House on Barbados was the location we visited thru Cunard Line. They have the Plantation on this end of the year Caribbean Cruise under the The Best of Barbados. Please see if you can find a website for the latest information about Sunbury.
  2. We sailed the picturesque St Lawrence Seaway on the QE2 in the past and was in awl by the beauty of the sailing to Quebec. Cunard Line does sail the seaway during the Foliage/Fall time with other lines I am not familiar with but know there are other Foliage Autumn Cruises. The beauty of the the shore line so close to the ship was amazing and great pictures and videos. You also get to see Quebec as the destination. We would consider doing it future, The total time would be from a sailing out of NY would be 7 days each way (total 14 days). St Lawrence is a one of a kind waterway so unique and memorable.
  3. It was a while ago but we were charged $10 for a box of 10 at the Purser Office. We take our pills from home now that's prescribed. Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app
  4. Hi Tatka, From Ed & Bev from the 2017 sailing. So nice to have met you. Ditto on your description of Halifax. We enjoyed many of the areas you described in your listing except for one. We did like Peggy's Cove since we live near the sea and enjoy the water. But we are disappointed on how crowded the Cove is with tourist like us and also private, limos and Buses. The day we were there it was quite over runned. We were also disappointed with the lunch that was included at the restaurant connected with the tour. The quality of the selected lobster lunch was disappointed. Cold and Dry and very hard to take apart. I wonder if this is the way it is normally or because of the large group of buses. I love lobster and know how to handle it and this was not normal. I wonder if it was ordered as a separate sitdown guest the quality would have been better. We have had lunches or meals as part of a tours and haven't been disappointed and even surprised of the quality. But the tour guide of the Cove was very nice and informative with the history of the area. It was a delightful experience. Unfortunately since the lunch was not great we order on our arrival back at the ship room service as a added lunch (meal). Once again, Hello!
  5. Even though we haven't been to Barbados recently, we always for the many times in the past we visited it, we always considered Barbados our Favorite Island next to St Thomas. We favorite place we have visited in the past and would again, Harrisons Cave. Very Interesting. We also enjoyed and forgot the name, we visited a very beautiful plantation and later under a tent attended a sit down tea time. Enjoyed it very much. Taking a tour of the island we also toured the north coast a saw a area called Thunder Hole beach area. We show interest in shopping in the Terminal Building. Picking up some liquor and always their local Barbados Brown Sugar to take home. I actually order it now from home for cooking use. Barbados is our favorite island and hope it is yours.

  8. This will be yours in 5 Days......Aloha! lol.....
  9. First Bon Voyage on your sailing. Sorry to hear of your husbands medical situation and hope he too will enjoy the sailing. My mom also used a Rollator to walk. First In St Thomas it depends on where your ship will dock. There two locations ships dock, Havensight and Crown Bay. Havensight is closer to town and Crown Bay is quite a distance from the Main Town. It is quite a distance off the pier at each location to get thru the security entrances. I wonder of you can ask the shipboard staff of there is a golf cart/shuttle from the ship to assist your husband to the tour gathering location. Also, if you believe you may need assistance during the whole time, I would personally take the Ship Board Excursions since ship's staff will be with you all the time. Also you will know you will also get back to the ship on time if your husband becomes tried earlier on. You need to know if your tour operator will be aware of your husbands limitations and the assistance you will be in need of. As mentioned in the past, you also have to take in account the time of year you are going and also the climate you will be prepared for with keeping cool and hydrated.
  10. We have not been to St Thomas for quite sometime since our cruises due to fuel cost are not that frequent during the time we are able to sail, but we loved and remember St Thomas very well from the past. I am not sure which dock your ship will be docking at. It is either at Havensight or Crown Bay. Havensight is the nearest to the Main Street of the town. Crown Bay is off the beaten path and need to take a taxi or out safari trucks that shuttle passengers to the main area of town. They do have some shops that were opened for passengers that don't want to venture into town. But aware when using these independent vehicles and the price that they quote. We know many and others stating that they ran into trouble with the price. Ask the price first before getting on the vehicle. I would also use the same method if you are to venture to Magen Bay, the beach area. Magen Bay is quite a distance away from the main strip near the main shopping area. Havensight which can hold about 3 ships have a shopping mall with many of the shops along the Main Street & Veteran Drive. You can walk to the Main Town Shopping area but it's quite a walk. Veteran Drive has many shops and restaurants you can window shop thru. The more heavier shopping area is the Main Street. It has many shops for electronics, jewelry, perfumes, liquor, etc... You can even get things to replenish from drugstores if needed. At the far end of the street is even a US Post Office. I don't remember many of the names of the shops but a few...Riise for liquor, jewelry, perfumes.....My wife likes Mr. Tablecloth for Lines..... these are a few... You can pick at tourist free book in most stores by the tourist bureau......St Thomas/Virgin Island Now we always looked for. Well I gave you are starting..... Bon Voyage.....Hoping to One Day return to St Thomas again Too!

  13. Ditto....we like to have a safe margin on return...we've seen people running and boarding the gangway in time but not left behind. We too use the ship's excursions as a safe way to travel a distance from the ship and know they are waiting for us. Don't even want to know the feeling of having to make your way to the next port on your own with everything and everyone on board. Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app
  14. I am using Photobucket on the Basic Annual Plan since I only add those photos I am interested in sharing on CC. I have no problem posting by copying the link address of the Photo to CC and there they are to see. I am not using it as a photo storage site. Other photos are stored on a 1TB external till I need them. PB works for the purpose I need it and happy it is easy to use. Thanks for the info bluemarble..
  15. We learned and use Photobucket for CC photo posting..
  16. They aren't that bad, really........
  17. We enjoy the Full Moon nights along the side of the ship shining and glistering from up high.
  18. Kathleen, Seven Days to go and My Wife and I wish you a Very Happy Bon Voyage! Yes I truly understand, I was in Emergency Medicine/Administration many times during the Lobster Shift. Out of the blue a lonely phone ringing down the half lite hallway... Ed & Bev
  19. We enjoy booking the Club Britannia and experience the Pre Grill experience, dine whenever instead of a set time, same table for the three meals with extra al carte menu w Flambés and a decently nice cabin. We really don't care to experience a dedicated out door sunning area as we really aren't SUN People. If course if a upgrade from the Upgrade Fairy is offered we would like to experience that class of accommodations.
  20. We too like to stop in the G32 to and see the other NightOwls tearing up the rug and being so alive in the Midnite hours. How can one not stop at the Kings Court to get that one last bite before dreaming of the Morning Breakfast hours away and seeing the New Risen Sun on the horizon. I always like to walk the ship before bedtime and oh how silent it is unless you are passing a late night bar or the Casino with the coins dropping or cheers for a win at the Tables. But walking in the more isolated areas with it's silences, another experience of it's own. I work in the hospital and how interesting it's to experience the wards, floors and corridors around 3 to 5AM, again another experience from the hustle and bustle of the day. Bon Voyage and Enjoy your experiences with Good Cheer!
  21. I think lately they like to use a Queen's Name and keep the name short exc. for Elizabeth. We would like Queen Anne. Caronia's name is enjoying a well deserved retirement. She was a pleasure to have sailed on her.
  22. We took guidance from our travel agent which we have used for several years with a possible guarantee cabin last year. She thought with our sailing history and CWC status we would be upgrade (for sure) instead of settling for a particular cabin. Well that was not the case. Yes we did stay in the Club Britannia Class cabin on Deck 13 and enjoyed the brand new look and feel of that addition from the previous refit. But the uncertain feeling over the period did come true with remaining in that grade and not really happy with the location. Cabin was too far forward and the restaurant (Club Britannia) was too far aft of the ship. We would have been happier to pick a Club Cabin on 12 which is what we did for next years sailing. BTW....Once we were guided to try guarantee on the QE2 with a possible Deck 4 cabin with upgrade. When we got to the pier we were extremely happy when we were informed we were bumped up to Queens Grill Cabin.....Upgrade Fairys Do Sometimes Reside At Check In Desks.
  23. Ditto Lanky, We too have one being considered being sort of not to long because of personally reasons related to a family member's health. But we miss the old fashion days like when we were on the QE2 with Caribbean Cruises were being offered other then the now a days during November, December or World Cruise. Wish they would consider bring back the old types of cruise lineup.

Ray, Things must have changed for Club Britannia Cabins. We did have powder creamer and hot chocolate in our cabin beverage tray with the kettle on the QM2 two years ago in Club Britannia Cabin. The tubes are oversized about 4 inch in length. Both sugar, alternate sugar, powder creamer. Sometimes we did bring liquid cream or milk from the buffet area. The Belgian Choc Hot Chocolate is Options from the Switzerland thru the UK. Package is mixed with 200ml hot water for delicious hot chocolate. We did get extra from the Kings Court but the Stewardess left extra for us without asking after see saw us using it. Please check it out the next time.
