  1. We’re each individul’s on board charged charged directly you or did their purchases get charged to their credit cards?  If their cards were used for their purchases that could be why part of the refund went to them.

On a different cruise line now, I booked and paid for2 excursions on my credit card.  I later cancelled them and I was tefunded to my DHs credit card .

  2. If the upgrade option isn’t available go to your booking and check Order History.  It could be that the upgrade option is not available because your Classic beverage package hasn’t been added to your booking yet.  Without the Classic showing in the system can’t offer the upgrade.

It is not unusual for “all included “beverage package and/or wi-fi not to show up until around final payment.

You can call Celebrity and they will add the Classic package to your booking, it will then show in Order History”. The rep can handle the upgrade when you call

he is currently on the Beyond.  Just finished our cruise on June 29, although it has been two weeks so maybe he’s back on Reflection.

he seemed nice enough but I didn’t ever see him around the ship.  We had booked this cruise/ship for Captain Kate.

We were with him on the Beyond and saw him everywhere.  But he doesn’t loo like most Captains.  Very low key, relaxed, casual, like he would prefer jeans and tee shirt vs jacket or shirt with lots of stripes.

  4. We were on the Beyond and there was a group of 12 seated next to  us the first night.  They were loud, not intentionally I’m sure,  but 12 people carrying on a group conversation with others seated 2-3’ away is annoying.

We asked to be seated in another part of the dinning room.  Next evening 2 other couples seated around the large group asked to be moved also.  It would be nice if there was a semi private area for large groups.

The best scenario with this new non-refundable deposit (I'm not sure how new as we wee in a cruise in May after not cruising  since before the covid shutdown, is if you have a travel agent with a group booking.  They are always refundable.

Often but not always refundable. We have group booked  rates that were non refundable.

  6. Sounds like the article is outlining the amenities for. 3 separate stateroom categories and what you posted is for the Retreat only. There should be info on the other to categories as what is shown are not AQ or Concierge amenities.

Please help me understand this post concerning current cruise directors.

We have been longtime X cruisers, since 2011.

We have asked the same question for years, "who are the current cruise directors", we always get the same answer, "X does not broadcast what staff/crew are on a ship".

    Why ?

I've  seen on other cruise boards on this site and they routinely publish what staff is on what ship.

    Why doesn't X do this ?

X doesn't do it because they choose not to.  Their company their rules.  The officers and staff that are comfortable with their information/ whereabouts being public information post on social media.   The  majority of them choose not to.

  8. There is no list of any officers or staff and which ship they are on.  Celebrity does not provide this or like people’s assignments postered by others on social media, privacy reasons.  A few who tried gathering the info and posting here were banned from the site

  9.   No need to worry. Blu is your assigned dining room but you can dine at the 4 MDRs also.  In Blu if you dine about the same time every night they try and keep you with the same wait staff and the same area.   So if you plan to eat in the MDR on some nights let the Blu  host know so they don’t try and keep a table available for you.

  10. For departure at the endI have gotten a wheelchair within 5 minutes by going to area for anyone needing a wheelchair.
Last time I went to the Retreat the wait was almost 40 minutes.  I had notified them ahead of time, as had the others who were waiting. The first 2 to arrive at the Retreat got chairs quickly then it slowed down.

Getting a wheelchair for embarking at the Retreat checkin has been very quick.

We got both on a recent cruise, a bottle of wine plus a daily cheese platter with fruit.

That would have been in lieu of the daily canapés.

Years back on embarkation there was the bottle of sparkling wine and a plate with 3 pieces of fruit on the table when you boarded.

I’m about to book an Aqua (sunset) cabin on Solstice #1670 for late 2026.  I wonder if I’ll hear the pool music from my balcony?

Doubtful as the pool is midship forward and 2 decks above you.  We recently did a deck 11 SV on the Beyond and never heard a doubt from the pool

I have had good luck ith downloading an app that measures sound volume.  When the meter reaches the “pain” level I screenshot it.  Showing this to an officer was effective in getting the volume reduced.

DH has done this also with the DJ blasting music in a venue that is almost empty.  Every time they have lowered the volume.

But you should be fine going to Pearl Harbour if you walk off the ship in the morning but then you do have to go thru the regular check in process to get back on.  This will be all explained when they have the b2b meeting on board and how to do it.

Is this a recent change?  Every B2B we have done if we left the ship we were given a transit pass which circumvented the check in process.  It was a seperate line for returning B2B passengers.

  15. Thanks all for the info and opinions.

We booked the cruise about 7 months ago with a guarantee MD mini suite.  We are down to 10 days until sailing with no cabin assignment.  However others on the same cruise are reporting their bids to upgrade from a balcony to a mini suite were accepted, what’s with that!    Online the cruise is showing as Sold Out so no way to see what’s available.

Yesterday with no cabin yet assigned we got the email offer to upgrade from our from our guaranteed MD mini suite to a reserved collection one.  Part of me thinks not assigning a cabin but offering an upgrade  bid is a ploy to get more $.

We will probably bid the minimum and see what happens.  We may get to the pier and find we don’t have  a cabin.

    Thanks again.

  16. Taking our 1st Princess  cruise and currently booked in a  guaranteed mini suite.  Received the offer to bid on a Reserve Collection mini suite .  The minimum bid is $15 pp pd  what does the Reserve get other than seating in the Reserved section of the dining room.
