How close are you to sapphire and is it worth an extra water, dinner with an officer and maybe priority seating for meals and entertainment ( when available)
On the joy this past June, I just had them separate into twins on each side with the nightstands in the middle. I don’t need a full size bed and the extra bed was convenient to use for placing things like next days clothing and having a place to pack up end of cruise.
When you get on the Bliss first go to wherever they were taking reservations for shows, they will have the lineup for the entire cruise. After that go across to where they are taking restaurant reservations.
Also if you socialize during the solo meetup, you may find people like minded in regards to dining and already have a table booked.
I do depending on the bed configuration. I like having the 2 night stands together for better access using them for storage. Also more room and not needing to shimmy against the wall getting in and out of bed.
I was on the Joy 7 day to Bermuda. Started Sunday, on Tuesday it came up on the phone for $10 a day for the rest of the trip. The offer came up when I logged in, and I heard it won’t come up if you have used all your minutes.
Have heard similar for other ships.
I am finding between Cruise Critic and social media pages that people/solos start communicating prior to the cruise. On one cruise (right after Covid) about 5 of us met up for lunch and then cocktails prior to the solo meeting. We were all solo even though we walked in together. I have also met solos who are staying at the same hotel pre cruise, share transports to terminal then go to solo meetup together.
I purchased on the Joy a few weeks ago and they told me that when I got home I could use the double up offer for my solo studio for next Summer Primo sailing.
Last Sunday on the Joy my room was not ready till 2:45 and my luggage arrived between 5:30-7:00…at least I had AirTag so at least I knew it as on the ship.
Sadly I think my cruise on the Ascent may be my last on Celebrity. I priced out Bermuda and it was ridiculous how much they wanted. Now taking NCL Joy for 1/3 the price with better perks.
Never have but I used to sail on Windjammer Barefoot and they occasionally had them. So by chance the following cruise I was on was one. As I watched the crew unload 2 pallets of bleach and extra towels I said to the Captain “ well I guess the crew will have it easy with less luggage” the reply was “ you would be surprised,it is more luggage….accessories .”
I don’t know about this…naturalist etiquette is to always place a towel wherever they sit nude, g string or thong. That’s a lot of towels and a lot of bleach.
Make sure that you are looking through the Website and not the APP. I could not order through the APP, but “bingo” it was on the website. This was just my experience, other people on the same cruise didn’t have the issue, it’s worth checking out.
Would also depend on the age and appetite for the others. If they are younger and not going to eat a 4 course meal then al a carte may be better. If that is the case look at the sample menus on the app and see what is there and price.
I have stayed at both. Hyatt house was okay because I got a good price NY weekend through Value Trips. If you are just coming in for the night and arriving mid/ late afternoon then HH would be good.
I actually stay either 2 days before or after to stay at the Riverside. Not only is it on the River Walk it is on Los Olas which is basically the oldest part of downtown ( in a good way) lots of restaurants to choose from at all price ranges , shops, galleries. Water taxi stop there.
3 bars on premises and a piano lounge in the lobby most nights. Fun watching the boats on the river.
