  1. That's great, thank you and Happy Cruising!
  2. Thanks to both of you. We are currently on deck 4, port side, used Club Orange, no aft balconies available. Sounds like no need to switch to starboard, thank you!
  3. Hi all. Booked on the Koningsdam Inside Passage round-trip from Vancouver in late July. Does it matter which side of the ship we are on for gawking at the scenery? I feel like, since it's round-trip, that what we miss on the way up we will see on the way back. Currently booked on the port side. Is it worth/needed switching cabins?
  4. Hi all. Haven't booked yet, but am seriously considering an early June cruise on Koningsdam from YVR - YVR, and have scheduling questions. The itinerary shows us cruising Tracy Arm around 9, and Juneau from 1-10pm. Is it possible to do the Tracy Arm Glacier explorer (6 hour) excursion and then a whale watching tour from Juneau? Would we want to? thats a long day. What does that look like? Glacier boat from 9-3, and then whale watching 4-7? Is that even possible? The Glacier explorer excursion looks amazing, but I'm also hearing that Juneau is THE place to whale watch, which is a must do for us. Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi all. We will be on one of four ships docking in Dec, from 1p - 10p, any suggestions on what to do? (HAL) We love beaches, but not sure if the timing is great for a beach day. 2 adults, no kids. Alternately, what's your favorite bar/restaurant within walking distant of a pier? How do we know which Pier we'll be docking at?
  6. Not refundable, price has gone up, and I would lose OBC. Overall, I'm thrilled to be going and will have a not obstructed balcony which is way better than a week at work so I'm still excited! Thanks everyone!
  7. TA said she called but was told 'you could not downgrade once you have upgraded'.
  8. Thanks everyone. I was checking to see if I made a bad decision...and I did. Originally booked obstructed balcony guarantee, but couldnt stop thinking about non obstructed. Asked my TA if it was possible to switch, she said yes for $200. I approved...and THEN realized I'd forgotten about Club Orange. Asked the TA to undo and sign me up for CO but can't undo. So, lesson learned. Worst case, I still get some sort of non obstructed balcony, so it'll be lovely! Thanks everyone.
  9. Oh wow, cool. Ok thank you!
  10. Thank you for responding. I've read that once you purchase Club Orange, one of the benefits is an upgrade in cabin within category...hence giving me the chance to choose a cabin. I'm just not sure which level of category...obstructed only, or all balconies.
  11. Hi all. Apologies if this has been covered. Sailing in Dec on Nieuw Statendam. If I'm booked in an obstructed balcony guarantee and then purchase Club Orange, can I choose only from obstructed balconies? Or would I have the choice of non obstructed balcony cabins as well?
  12. Hi all. Which cabins are the 'worst' obstructed view balconies? Do any of them not have a couch/loveseat? All of them are better than the view from my office lol, just preparing for the 'worst' possibility...I booked a guarantee for the first time. Going in December. Thank you!
  13. I assume this has been covered but I was unable to find an answer. If I purchase the soda package, will I be able to request a can of Diet Coke and take it back to my room? Or does it only include fountain soda? Thank you in advance!
  14. Thanks for the suggestion! So, my TA 'held' a booking for me a few days ago. Deposit is $150, due today. I had planned to email her requesting to re-book with the $25 deposit, but the cruise cost has gone up $100. That won't kill me, but feels silly to pay more on the off chance of a future sale (that doesnt sound promising). I appreciate you all, thank you!
  15. Hi all, I'm new to HAL, have cruised with Royal and MSC before. About to book on Nieuw Statendam for December. If I discover my cruise cost has gone down before final payment, can I revise my booking to the lower price? Or would I basically need to cancel that original cruise (and lose my non-refundable deposit) and re-book? What are the chances they'll have a sale for the 4th of July? Does HAL really even have "sales"? Or is the price the price. Am booking an obstructed balcony guarantee, solo. I've never done a guarantee before, any tips? Thank you in advance!
  16. Hi all. Considering a cruise on Nieuw Statendam in Dec out of FLL. I don't want to pay for 'Have it all', and am mainly content to not access the interweb for a week...or so I think lol. Is it possible to pay for, say, 1 or 2 days of internet access only? If not, no biggie. I'm happy to get lunch in port and utilize that internet to check in at home, just curious about the options. Thanks in advance 🙂
  17. If you've done this, I'd love to hear your thoughts/tips/advice? How did you like it? My travel buddy wants to do this, so we've already signed up but I have questions. I've read we can just take a taxi to/from, that seems easy enough. What do we do with our stuff once we get there and want to ride slides and lazy river and whatnot? Do they sell out? I believe we will be 1 of 5 ships in Nassau the day we are there. Do I bring a towel from the ship (MSC Divina), or is that a bad idea? I feel like it's humongous, will we spend most of our day walking/waiting in lines? I assume yes with 5 ships of people in town, just want to be prepared and plan for a decent buffer to get back to the ship on time. What was your favorite food/snack/restaurant? Any other tips? Thank you 🙂
  18. Oh, that's it? Ok good, thank you!
  19. Hi all. Scheduled on Divina in March, headed to Nassau and Ocean Cay. If our arrival time in Ocean Cay is 130p, what's a realistic time we will get off the ship? Trying to decide if a cabana for that day is worth it. Thanks!
  20. Thank you both. I think I'll return the car to MIA airport and Uber, thank you!
  21. Hi all. I'll be visiting family March 1-5 near Fort Myers, then driving a rental car to Miami hotel on Mar 5th for MSC cruise on March 6th...my check in time is 1pm. My questions are regarding my rental car: What drop off location in Miami should I choose...just Miami airport? or is there a cruise port drop off for some car agencies? I figure, worst case scenario, I drop the car off an get an Uber to the cruise port but I feel like there might be a better way. Any tips?? Best way to do this?
