  1. I'm getting a little confused. We booked just last month. Our TA confirmation indicates we have a "Beverage Package (select alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks)"......does this mean we have any drinks up to a specified price? or, is it just beer and wine with meals? Sorry, the more I read the more questions I have. Everyone is so helpful though I'll keep asking. 😍
  2. This is something similar to a question I have. Our itinerary in the Caribbean shows two ports listed with a little anchor ⚓️ next to them. I'm assuming this indicates the ship will be anchored rather than docked, which means using tenders, right?
  3. Thanks. We do have one couple that's been on 5 or 6 O cruises but I don't know if that's much status. I was just hoping to get a table for 6 arranged in the main dining room before we get on board. With other cruise lines, we've just sent an email to the dining group direct, especially with large groups. Six of us isn't really large, but just thinking it could be helpful to have it set up beforehand. Otherwise, we'll do as suggested earlier and see the matrie d after we get on board. Everyone on this Oceania board is so helpful to us first timers!
  4. New to Oceania....how do I book a table for 6 before getting on the ship?
  5. We sometimes need subs on Thursdays when we play at the Allen Senior Center. Send me your email & I'll give you more info. Sandy bridgemates at gmail dot com
  6. We will! and thanks for the info, neighbor. We live right down the road from you in Allen.
  7. This is similar to all other cruises I've been on. I'll wait and see what time I get at online check in. Thanks so much everyone, all very helpful!
  8. First time Oceania, still asking questions..... We're only familiar with boarding times generally beginning around 1030-11:00 am. Our cruise on Allura in November shows boarding at 1pm in Miami. Is that the general boarding time for Oceania? Thank you.
  9. Yes, web site very helpful......quote: "Spend the afternoon with friends at a lively trivia contest or bridge tournament." We love trivia and bridge. Do they really have bridge on O cruises? Probably not on our Caribbean cruise this fall......I miss the days when all the ships had organized bridge games. There are six of us in November and we all play bridge. Is there any way to contact others on board so we could have a little mini-tournament of sorts?
  10. Ha ha....I don't care what they call it, I love Murano's! Wish they had one on every Celebrity ship.
  11. Early June we were on the Edge in Alaska. The Skagway railroad tour up to Canada was totally sold out weeks in advance. When we got on board, the Excursion Desk was able to get 8 more of our group on this excursion, all together at the same 11 a.m. time. I'm not sure, but since passports were required for this tour, they may have had a lot of last minute cancellations.
  12. What's the 6 bottle limit? Totally new to Oceania. Thanks.
  13. Also new to Oceania. Thanks. Appreciate the informative responses.
  14. Thanks! Didn't know that. So much to find out as we try out Oceania after 30+ years of cruising. 😀 I'll be back with more questions I'm sure.
  15. Booked with an online agent we've used many times (starts with a V). I thought it was weird too, but figured it wouldn't make any difference since we'd have to pay in a couple months anyway, so I didn't even ask. I don't think he's too familiar with Oceania. We've been on a lot of cruises over 30+ years, primarily Celebrity, RC and Princess, so "we're moving on up this time" and trying out a new, smaller ship that sounds very luxurious.
  16. Thank You. #1, we're good, not past final payment. #2 out-of-luck, our category is waitlisted. We're happy with what we have but it's always fun to save some money when possible.
  17. Sorry for so many questions but we are totally new to Oceania. We booked with a large on-line travel agent and paid in full for a cruise on the Allura at the end of November. If we see a better rate in the next month or so, will we be able to take advantage of the lower price up to about 90 days ahead as we've done on several other cruise lines over the years. Travel agent not available today to ask. Figure veteran "Oceania'ers" will know. Thanks so much.
  18. ok, will wait to do on-board. Thanks everyone for all your help. Very excited to try our first Oceania cruise.
  19. Hi, we're flying to Miami on Thanksgiving Day for a cruise sailing the next day. Wondering if most restaurants will be open that evening for dinner? Figure Miami residents will best know the answer...... which would help us in selecting a hotel. Thanks!
  20. Thank you ORV. I read all the comments and they're very helpful. Agree SATaxman I think we definitely want the Prestige package. Now my question is, our T/A is giving us $300 obc but I understand it probably won't be available for a couple days after we sail. If we pay for the upgraded drink package now, what can I use the $300 obc for once it's available on the ship? It's the Caribbean and we've been there numerous times. Too old for beach resorts and sun so will most likely just stay on and enjoy the ship with our friends. Any ideas how to use the T/A obc? If I purchase the upgrade on the first day onboard, would they then be likely to apply my obc to the bill when it becomes available. I think I'll have a hard time finding something to spend $300 obc on. Thanks everyone. I know I'll have a few more questions as we are newbies on Oceania but have heard so many great things, just have to try it before time runs out......😅.
  21. Hi, first time on Oceania (Allura) in the fall. We get beer/wine included at meals. We always get the premium drink package on other cruise lines so we can have a bloody mary and a martini, or 2 now & then 😁........ No idea what cocktails cost on Oceania. Quote from Chat option tells me it is $30/pp/pd to upgrade to Prestige Package. Any recommendations? It's the Caribbean and we've been there many times so probably won't do any excursions and just stay on board and enjoy the ship. Thanks!
  22. Group of 6 just booked Allura for the fall in the caribbean. As I understand it, there's no "reservation" dining times. Will the 6 of us showing up around 6:30 generally be a problem?
  23. Hi, after almost 60 cruises on primarily Celebrity, Princess & RC we are booked for the caribbean on the Allura this fall. In the caribbean hubby generally wears slacks and "Hawaiian" style shirts to dinner, not the crazy wild colored ones, but generally the "subdued" kind. I'm generally in black pants and nice top, sometimes sparkly top on more formal nights. Are we going to be out of step for Oceania? What's the majority wear? Thanks, probably have many more questions as time goes by. Very excited to try this new ship!

  25. Ha! We had several grandsons and their wives in their 30's on our Edge Alaska cruise earlier this month. I think they closed "the Club" dance party down about every night, 2-3:00a.m. and still made it to their tours the next day. Oh to be that young again. 😊
