Emails from Crystal - are you receiving them ok?
travelberlin replied to Stickman1990's topic in Crystal
I am not receiving their emails. I have resubmitted my subscription today. -
I agree, most probably those will remain.

Recommended or required I could not make them online. I guess it would have to be done after we board. I am more interested now on Tastes due to the cooperation with the Beefbar.

Beefbar dining concept announced for Crystals ships

I like it. This sounds good. Ivi -
I have just made reservations for my cruise with the Symphony for this sommer and the only two restaurants available to make reservations were Umi Uma and Osteria. Tastes was not offered for reservations. Ivi
-
During my cruise you could dine at Tastes also without reservations. It was not very busy.

Nothing concrete yet. Cristina Levis wrote this on another social media in relation to this question: „too early to say. We are working around the clock to make it happen but there are various things that we do not control.“ Ivi

Ok maybe they are more tour providers now. I remember last year there was a reputable one but was fully booked. I went ashore trying to find something on my own after some unlucky try to do it via shore excursions team (not very knowledgeable lady and not really interested in clarifying details of the shore excursion). So I found the Zimbabweans tour providers 😊

In Port Stanley it is better to take a ship excursion to see the penguins. Not much to do if you are on your own. Be aware of independent people offering to see penguins. I was approached by Zimbabweans who offer those tours. It turned out to be that the beach they wanted to take us, was one previously mined. Zimbabweans were hired to take away the mines. The beach was not still open for the tourists. I declined to take that excursion.

All repetitions are tiring. Even those images of “bitting the horse” 😉 I guess the repetitions can not be avoided as long as once in a while some people who know little but think they know a lot, arrive with a parachute on this board and start the subject again. Ivi

I hesitated to answer to your post. But actually your words are the key. You say you really don’t know what others are beefing about. Exactly! you do not know and you cannot generalize that „all have got all their money back „ or “those who didn't are trolling “ or “have not learned to count or do their maths”. I am very happy that you have not lost anything. But please show some respect for others who have. And please move on. This subject has been discussed enough and most of us are very tired of it. Ivi

Thanks Terry for this post. You are absolutely right. And besides that, since the EI is limited to the end of 2025, not all the certificates can be used due to previous commitments. Ivi

Is there a possibility that if you bid for a balcony ocean view cabin, you would get just an ocean view no balcony? One does bid for a particular cabin right? Not just for any upgrade.

World Cruise 2024 Segment Papeete to Auckland aboard Serenity

Have a wonderful cruise Terry and Kerry! Looking forward to reading about your experiences. Ivi -
I agree not to put off travel. We have been in so many places in which the situation has changed so much and the country, even though we might be able visit it now, ti would not be the same than before… Ivi

I am very glad you had a wonderful time visiting Berlin although it was just some hours. Although I am not particularly fond of traveling long distances to visit a big city just for few hours, I have to recognize that I have done it once and I also had a good time. It was a visit from Le Havre to Paris. I am not sure I would do it again. Ivi

I agree that Warnemünde is nice to spend the day. Berlin is too far away and it is very little to see in the short stay there during a shore excursion.

I have been in all those ports (except Riga, which we have visited not on a cruise) with another cruise line. They are very easy to do things on your own. I have walked from the ship to the main attractions without a problem. But from The cruise terminal to Visby center is probably more than a mile. Lovely walk though (see picture below). Tallinn center is also more than a mile from the cruise port.

MS Hamburg is also going through the Red Sea without guests.

There is a company called: „welcome pick ups”. We have used it once from the port to the airport.

Wise words Keith. After looking at your different bookings and evaluating your options, have you decided to apply the non refundable 20% promotion to any of your bookings? Or at least the 10% promotion, which is refundable? Ivi

The changes are not easy for travel agents either. Besides trying to rebook guests affected from the cancellations they are still doing business as usual with Crystal or with other cruise lines. I would contact my travel agent to request information instead of waiting to be contacted.

I agree, except when it is something exceptional such as the Grand Buffet used to be.

Luxury cruise line that's Royal-ish??
travelberlin replied to chill6x6's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Since you want luxury but similar to Royal, maybe MSC Yacht Club is for you. None of the smaller luxury ships would be similar to Royal.
