So the charge has to be at least one for $500? I might have one for $150; and another couple for $100 each (tips for people). So not one charge for $500 -- but a series of charges that add up to $500.

I was the poster who mentioned the teens did not like Celebrity. They actually were my nieces not my children.

My son who was 7 at the time like the boat. I liked Summit. My sister in her early 40s found Celebrity very dull and quiet at night.

For multi generational cruises we will be looking at other lines.

My family enjoyed Royal far more than celebrity.

As Host I would pay the 12.5% they will expect no more. You can have it taken off but most people don't.

I live in London and pay the discretionary service charge all the time. But I'm from the US so my views on tipping could be different than the norm.

I switched to one of the price protected sailing -- but no aft D1 or hump cabin. Will keep my eye on cabins and other sailings, once the flurry of activity slows down.

I am also impacted by the changes. A couple of questions before I call this morning.

If I change to 5 day leaving February 12 does price protection mean that you get pro rata rate for a 5 day cruise based on price you paid for 7 night cruise? (I hope so)

Those who know Royal better than me -- is it likely that the dry dock will be extended further into February? I would hate to change and then have to change again.

Alternatively, I can book a cruise in April but the nice aft balcony I booked (1688 and 1388) is not available. Any other good cabins to look out for?

I assume I have to keep a D1 to get price protection. If I'm wrong please let me know.
