Royal Princess Delayed Embarkation Nov 9

We were also delayed for a Crown Princess cruise from Fort Lauderdale due to deep cleaning for the noro virus. We arrived at 1pm. and were accomodated in the Convention center, and did not board the ship until 7pm. I would suggest that you have some snacks with you, and also reading material, as it was a long boring wait. This was the cruise to nowhere. We were on the ship for five days, and did not visit any port. The ship returned to Fort Lauderdale, and underwent a 2 day deep cleaning.

    Sept Isles. Why?

We have always enjoyed the QM2 Canada cruise which we have done a number of times, but after seeing the itinerary this year, we decided to give it a miss. Replacing Newport, and Boston, with ports like Sept Isles, Rockport and Corner Brook were not attractive to us. We have booked the QM2 Caribbean cruise sailing 25 November as a substitute. Even the ports for the two QM2 Canada cruises in 2019 do not appeal to us. A pity as we really enjoy sailing on the QM2.

    Carnival Pride 25th March 2018

We did not use the internet. Our daughter had the social package, and managed intermittent use. I spoke to a lady who had the premium package. She said that it was so slow that she requested and got a refund. We made good use of the Carnival Hub app which worked very well on the ships network.

    Carnival Pride 25th March 2018

We did not use the Alchemy Bar. We frequented the Thirsty Frog where the games were for the grandkids, and had the pub trivia. I did not get the names of the bartenders.

    Carnival Pride 25th March 2018

We did the Bahama House tour in Freeport. We were at a house across from the beach, and backing up to an inlet where you could kayak or swim. The grandkids loved it. We sat on the back porch, and had unlimited drinks. They served appetizers when we arrived, and a lunch before we left. They also had internet. The tour lasted 4.5 hours. It was a very relaxing tour, and enjoyable. There were a total of 28 people on the tour.

    Carnival Pride 25th March 2018

We have just disembarked from the Carnival Pride after a 7 day Caribbean cruise. We had a fabulous time. The Cruise Director Leigh Xuereb, and his team were great. They kept us entertained the whole trip. The buffet had a great selection of food. Our cabin, a midship balcony, was roomy compared to some of the other cruise ships. We were pleasantly surprised with all the venues available on the Pride. The embarkation/disembarkation went very smoothly. Well done Carnival.

Interesting update on upcoming royal sailings!!!

I just spoke to Princess, and they gave us $100 per person for our 20 day sailing on the Royal for 29 January. We did not need to go through our TA. Thanks to Cruise Critic for alerting us to the OBC.

    Coral princess 21 feb - 4 mar

We have just disembarked the Coral Princess after the Panama Canal Cruise. We must say that the cruise was fantastic. Great food, service, entertainment, and fortunately good weather. This is the first time that we have been on a Panamax ship, and it was nowhere near as crowded as the Grand ships, and the elevators were fast and not crowded. The promenade deck is great, reminds us of the QM2. Our thanks to the crew of the Coral Princess for a wonderful cruise.

Coral Princess Panama Canal 1/19/2014 Review

Thanks very much for your comprehensive review. We are currently making a 2 week trip down to Fort Lauderdale to catch the 21st Feb sailing. We are in Charleston, SC at the moment, and the weather is not very good. Can't wait to get somewhere warm.

    Madeira on the Royal

Thanks for the video. It brings back great memories of our visit to Madeira last year when on the Ruby Princess.

    Madiera Islands... a gem!

We did the full day tour of Madeira, and absolutely loved it. That was a great call by the Commodore. It was also nice to see the Commodore roaming the ship, and talking to passengers. It was a wonderful cruise.

Live From The Ruby Princess Med-T/A 10-19-11

Unfortunately we had to cancel this cruise, but have booked for next year. We have done this itinerary twice before on the Emerald, and Ruby, and really enjoyed it. Everybody have a great cruise. We will follow your progress.

What Cunard Should Do To Improve the QM2's G32 Club

We did a crossing a month ago, and went to G32 every night. We enjoyed dancing to Vibz, and the dance floor was crowded when they played. However, when the DJ came on, most people left the floor, and the music was variable. It would be better if smoking was banned in G32. One night it was really smokey, and our clothes reeked when we got back to the cabin.

Rubyn Princess to Allure of the Seas
If you are parking your car at the port, use their free shuttle back to your car, and then take the shuttle to the Oasis. This will also allow you to leave items in the car that are not required on the Oasis.
Please read Allure vs Oasis. We are considering do this when we disembark the Crown Princess and transferring to the Oasis.
