  1. MIT - great trip report. Really love the details and picks - feels like i’m Along for the ride. Can anyone tell me if there are cabana’s on the Summit and if so is there a trick to securing one (ie: booking in advance?)

    Balconies on Eclipse

Can anyone tell me if the balcony dividers on the eclipse can be opened to join two balconies? We will be travelling with friends, and are hoping that we can join our balconies. This is typical on the Princess Ships that I've been on, but I don't know if this is the case on Eclipse.

    Dining in Blu on Eclipse

Thanks very much Don and Lois!
  6. Sorry everyone. I hate to beat a dead horse, but the main reason we are booking AquaClass is to dine in Blu. So, I want to ensure I have the story straight. Please let me know if the following is correct. Blu is the priority dining room for AC. If you are in AC, dining in Blu does not cost anything extra. When making your reservation, however, it is important to reserve for Traditional Seating, because if you reserve for Open Seating (Select) it is possible you will be placed in the Main Dining Room Having said that, even if you select Traditional Dining, you are seated on a first-come first-serve basis. In other words, you aren't put at the same table every night with the same waiter at the same time. Have I missed anything? Has anyone in AquaClass ever NOT been put in Blu and then wanted to correct it later and couldn't?
  7. Thanks so much for everyone for your insights. Well, I can really see that there is an overwhelming fan club for Aft Cabins. I'm going to enthusiastically trust your experience and give it a try! Our TA has confirmed that there is one available and we've got "a lock" on it! It will be a first for us after just 9 cruises. Thanks again...something new to look forward to!
  8. Hi everyone: I'd really like your opinions on this one. I just finished reading a great string on the benefits of selecting an Aft cabin. And, as a result, I am thinking of giving it a try on an upcoming 30 day cruise. But, I really want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly, because about 5 years ago, we were on a Celebrity ship and my sister-in-law had an inside Aft cabin and whenever we visited, it was vibrating. And I mean everything shook, ever so slightly, always (well, perhaps not when the ship was in port). The glasses tinkled, the walls creeked.....softly like white noise, but nevertheless, it was there. As a result of that, I swore never to get an Aft room ..... and never have. So, has anyone been on the Diamond Aft? Does it shake? And, if you were going to be there for 30 days, would you choose it (assuming of course that it is available). Thanks so much for your input.

    Captain's Circle benefits?

I agree with the others. The only real benefit offered by Gold Status is that you are one your way to achieve a higher level of status. I don't know what level my father-in-law has, but one of his perks is unlimited free internet. Now, that's worth it!

    Beatle Maniacs

Well, I went on line for you and found their "My Space" page. http://www.myspace.com/beatlemaniacs Guess you need to send them a message and tell them to get their butts down to the Crown pronto!

    Volendam Questions

Bengoshi: Thanks for that! Now that is wonderful news! To my recollection I don't believe Princess or Celebrity allow passengers to bring their own wine on board, even if it is just for their room. Thanks again!

    Volendam Questions

Hi All: Well, we are about to take the plunge and sign onto either the 15 day from Singapore to Sydney, or the 29 day which extends onto Aukland, on the Volendam. This is the result of Celebrity cancelling their Australia/New Zealand route. I see that you are all avid Holland America fans.....so I'm shy to admit that my line is Celebrity. So, some questions: We will be booking a Verandah room. Any particular tips that we should know? Any "better rooms" than others given special features of the ship. Also, I've heard about the wine card on Holland America. Is it true that this is just for "house wine". Any chance of smuggling in some nice bottles in your luggage? Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks so much!
