  1. All tables hold 2/4/6/8/10 that I have ever seen. Nothing designed specific for an odd number.
  2. Not quite. If a guest has booked multiple B2B, you can send a single email and include all booking numbers. The next time the guest has a new cruise, need to send in the information again.
  3. I would have said you cannot do that until I saw the new policy change (it is a new thing). I don't see how there is a disadvantage unless the price goes up between tie of booking and when you sail. That said, Princess just has a price increase and not likely to happen anytime soon, but this could be a situation in the future (could?? - nope, it will certainly be a situation in future as prices always go up eventually). You can add it after booking and before sailing as well, so that is another option and can be used to avoid any pending price increase that may be announced in future. On the other topic, IDK how soon you noticed the cabin change, but you should have got after Princess to get your cabin back. You didn't mention cabins and ship and cabin category, but it reads like you were downgraded which makes no sense. What deck because it sounds like you were writing about Emerald mid-ship on Royal Class.
  4. There have been several of threads on this topic over the past year or so. First when Plus came out, and then when Premier came out, and again recently with the new price increases. It's like the dress code threads - same old statements. Either a guest consumes enough drinks to make the package worthwhile or they don't and it is an individual choice or option and it just takes a bit of thought and number analysis, understanding your spending habits on board. Although I consider the Crew Incentive and MedallionNet as "fixed costs", some guests are not at all interested in internet access and so they attach no value to that part of the package. If you are all-in for both of these items as we are, then it just comes down to a drinks analysis and value proposition. IDK if the OP is looking to see statistically what folks on CC tend to do. For us, I might have considered the Plus option before at $40 is I wasn't bringing wine on board, but at the new pricing we will never book with the package.
  5. You did not need to do anything. Surely you will be aware that there are no tables for five on Princess. Your party of five would have had to been placed at a 6-top and therefore NP at all to included a 6th person. ETA: I see now you are aware of the above note after reading entire thread. I'd also mention that when a reservation is deleted, in theory that slot should be open and not all that likely someone else grabs it first. I am not sure how quickly it opens. I recall back when I was playing around with DMW in earlier days, make a change from say 6pm to 7pm and then do a re-book for 6pm. Wipe all days out and start over. I seem to recall the slot wasn't always open after cancelling out right away. Anyway, cancelling out and re-booking ought to have worked IMO, but IDK what the DMW situation is these days and why that wouldn't work.
  6. NO. IMO, no guest should be making multiple reservations for SD as you occupy multiple tables and take away opportunity for other guests. Taking up 3 tables is especially bad IMO. It doesn't get you what you want and you may not be able to get a 4-top at the same time in the end. And NO, you should not have to pay when holding SD credits. I have found that function largely working for me last year. Again, IMO, no guest should be booking multiple tables and then wait until on board to try and fix it because you are occupying multiple tables and taking space from other guests. Of course the process and the App need improvements - especially when making a res with multiple cabins and each cabin having SD credits. Supposedly, the App DineMyWay specialists (there is a Princess phone tree option to get to them) should be able to help make a res. Otherwise, yes, you are out the money to make a res in advance. But it is Refundable OBC, so you are not forced to spend it on board or lose it. Making a res on board has not been a problem for me. I do it on embarkation afternoon.
  7. No offense intended at all here, but if we were able to cruise exclusively in the high-end staterooms, I would be less concerned by the relatively small OBC (to my overall cost) than I would be with the quality of food, drink, condition of ship and other amenities.
  8. The FCD will be returned as such to your Captain's Circle account if it has not expired at the time of cancellation. If it has expired, you receive a cash refund. This is a very important thing to be aware of in case you are cancelling with plans to rebook and think you are going to reuse the FCD. Check that FCD expiry date in your CC Account before cancelling the booking. If it is expired, you need to get Princess to extend the date so it will remain as FCD which can be used for the rebooking step. Unused FCD's are cancelled and refunded after two years. Every FCD you have on account indicates its expiry date. You can often request an extension if plan to make a booking.
  9. You have conflated the physical Medallion with the (formerly) Medallion App (now Princess App). The Medallion opens cabin door and identifies who you are to ship personnel. In the latter capacity it serves as a vehicle to charge your cabin account for purchases. There are no issues with those functions and were in place before the Princess App. The change to MedallionNet packages with UNLIMITED internet and a 50% discount from LIMITED internet came under Jan Swartz's watch and not J-P's.
  10. #! - The Arrival Group times are check-in windows and not actual boarding times. However, anyone arriving after boarding has commenced will process thru check-in and then head right on board. #2 - Terminal check-ins begin well ahead of 11am (pretty much 10am-ish). Once checked-in, early arrivees wait in the terminal for boarding to commence. #3 - Boarding anywhere is not very likely to occur before 11am. Plan on 11am as earliest start and most often it is sometime between 11 and 11:30. #4 - The times above can be pushed back if unusual circumstances dictate a delayed schedule. #5 - The Arrival Groups in Princess App mean virtually nothing. Come to terminal and check-in when convenient for you. I have been know to show up at T2 by 9:30am, or a few mins ahead of that in order to ensure being on board first, or among the first. There is always a small number that are going to be there early like that for similar reasons.
  11. Boy! Look at those legs .. er I mean leg room.
  12. Best way to go in the first place.
  13. The announcement was sometime prior to mid-Dec and my understanding is the new pricing applied in the System on Dec 15 or 14. I imagine it is affecting cruises sailing right now. Folks did have a chance to purchase at the old price before the new price came into effect.
  14. I know and @Shelly97060 knows in Post #7. Your presumption is incorrect. Anyone can sign-in to MedallionNet if they know the login credentials of any valid user and that valid user is not already maxed out on their device limit. Login is Cabin Nbr and Birthdate.
  15. The 50% percent discount applies no matter when the eligible guest purchases MedallionNet. I have posted previously that the new prices are the same pre-cruise and on-board so it no longer matters when you purchase a plan. If purchasing on-board, the cost is charged to your stateroom account and not to a credit card. If the guest has OBC on account, it is used to offset any balance owing, including MedallionNet. Yes, it USED to be more expensive when purchasing after boarding. With the new price increases in effect, the cost of MedallionNet for guests is the same on-board as pre-cruise.
  16. This is a different issue with the credit card since the App recognized your CC Member level and applied the discount.
  17. I have never seen this as I would bring my own cards to the ship or access the free ones provided in the Library games area (typically). But I would order the lower priced ones.
  18. I believe that a great deal of the issues around the former MC App (now Princess App) were data integrity issues and not necessarily application programming (coding) issues. I also believe that were the facts to be public that significant initial data integrity issues were related to whatever the integration or conversion process is between the POLAR (legacy reservations system) and the MC App system. As we all know - at least regular participants in this forum - data integrity issues persist to this day. We are now less than five months from the second anniversary of MC App launch and it boggles the mind how some of the basic issues continue after that much time. It would be an interesting case study of an IT project were that ever to be allowed.
  19. Hmm. sorry, I have to agree with others that the App functions intended for onboard a ship are by and large much better working and reliable, etc, than the pre-cruise experience. Yes, the events page is poorly designed compared to what they had before and the messaging page is not as good as WhatsApp or similar smartphone apps.

  21. I would go since we are down here in SW FL for Winter, but mtg is in April and we are back north by then.
  22. <deleted> I saw a response after posting this joke.
  23. Which brings us to another question. Especially from a Shareholder perspective. While I understand that the various brands like CCL, HAL, PCL have their own identity and such, surely they could have shared technology platform and made it possible to have a similar app with custom badging and wording and such, but the base functionality should be the same in terms of registering for a cruise and so forth. Whatever technology works for booking dining ought to work across cruise lines, just as it should across different ships. Who knows if anyone considered this, but HAL and PCL are managed overall in a group and Jan Swartz is in charge of both now. Seems like a lot of unnecessary expense to develop distinct systems (maybe there are some shared concepts at the core we don't know about). What is clear is that PCL managed to hire the worst people and do the worst job by far. And even worse, they just plod along and don't appear to have done anything about it such as firing their asses out of their and bringing on some competency. Of course you all know who I would show the door first. (For the newbies, his initials are JP - in fact it is also his nickname).
