  1. Welcome to Cruise Critic, @Jennifer75! I love both airports but each has their pros and cons. As you’re flying JetBlue, I would opt for Buffalo and get the first flight out. That gives you more options should there be any storms affecting your flight. Even storms in another area can affect a flight should your plane be arriving from Chicago, for example. The first flight out usually means that your plane is already on the ground so you don’t have to wait for it to come in. Also, CBP clearance will be behind you and you can arrive domestically. Plus… shopping!
  2. Thanks. I thought it might have been for a different reason. It took four of us about 20 seconds to pick ours up at the desk after checking in. I couldn’t figure out why everyone wanted to have them sent to their homes. I also couldn’t figure out an easier way of losing them. 😂 Maybe our sailing was an anomalie as it was just after the pandemic and I haven’t sailed with them again.
  3. Out of curiousity, why would you want them to ship to your home?
  4. Wow. I am SHOCKED at you being herded to the Lido Market and at such a late embarkation time. That is shameful and unheard of, especially as you’re in a Neptune Suite. At the very least you should have been allowed to enter the Neptune Lounge. Was there not a reception in the lounge this evening? You could have brought it up to one of the concierge attendants. At any rate, welcome to Holland America and your first cruise! I look forward to your posts.
  5. There are far too many individuals in Club Orange who work as a team for me to tip each one separately. I now give one envelope with a written note and additional gratuities to the Maitre d’ as we leave from our last breakfast. I am lead to believe that, since they work as a team, they probably also share as a team. Along the way I also send praises via the “Let Us Know” on the app, as well as on the follow-up survey. The OP never asked anything about monetary amounts.
  6. It would be nice if the room stewards were taught to pour a glass of water down the drains whilst servicing the rooms. It’s a simple fix to prevent the odors caused by ship movement unsealing them and allowing them to escape. We had 3 floor drains in our bathroom on the Oosterdam in June Once I started doing that, the odors magically disappeared.
  7. We found the same… until we were underway. Then it got freezing cold! Eventually things returned to normal and temperatures remained pleasant for the rest of the trip. I am enjoying your thread!
  8. Yes to the Full English breakfast station in the market. (And I pass on the clothesline bacon also.)
  9. Here are some recent comparison threads. Search for “celebrity” within the thread title and you will find quite a few. Welcome to the Holland America board!
  10. My daughter used it a few weeks ago and loved it. (YYZ-IAD) She said she zipped past everyone in the queue using the nexus lane.
  11. Hahahaha Texas. You are not importing anything into Texas so you can take that off your list of things to worry about.
  12. Darn. I didn’t even know that there was a new version being issued! Those are nice. Regretting getting a 10 year one now. Sorta. lol
  13. Neptune Suite passengers have priority check-in so you can arrive whenever you like. Boarding usually begins at 11:30am (+/-) for the priority passengers.
  14. They loaded fresh Norwegian salmon and cod and a couple of others I don’t recall the names of (redfish?) on our Norway cruise last month. They were delicious!
  15. Ah. It was on the regular menu for the MDR/Club Orange so hope is not lost! Have a wonderful cruise!
  16. We had a fantastic classical pianist in the World Stage last month on the Nieuw Statendam. Amazing performance and so much better than LCS.
  17. Definitely did not say it was specific to Apple products.
  18. Had it last month on the Nieuw Statendam. It was delicious.
  19. Definitely not USB-C’s since that is the connecting size which fits into my iPad and iPhone. They were USB-A’s and there was one at each of the bedside tables. (My sister had one and I had one.) There was at least one more USB-A outlet at the desk, so a minimum count of three. Sadly, I did not take a pic of the desk outlets so I cannot confirm there were four, but there was definitely three.
  20. There will be a minimum of two USB ports on the NS and — if memory serves since a few weeks ago — there should be four. One by each of the nightstands and two over the desk. Have a fantastic trip!
  21. The FAQ says they will honor current pricing for bookings made prior to September 1st. So, as long as you make your reservation by the end of August, you won’t pay the increased cost. The tomahawk steak is for two people:
  22. I am a Canadian passport holder and, a few months ago, our itinerary included Turkiye. Agree with @cruisemom42 that you do not need a visa. Have a wonderful cruise!
  23. Love Swiss Air; love Zurich Airport. You’ll be fine. 👍
  24. Days at Sea: 100: Bronze 300: Silver 500: Gold 700: Platinum
  25. Yay! I am so happy it went through! Here’s hoping you won’t have to fight for the credit. You know, it’s interesting you ask that question. I had read that it would be automatically applied going forward but I have no experience to know if that is correct or not. Hopefully someone will post with their experience but my gut tells me we will have to resubmit with each booking.
