Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We’re staying at the Hilton riverside before the cruise this Saturday night but they’re calling for possible flooding. Is that going to interfere with us walking to the Norwegian port?
  2. Did the sloth/monkey place feel like a sanctuary or more like a zoo? My daughter doesn’t know if she wants to do it because she’s concerned about the welfare of the animals.
  3. I was wondering if the monkey and sloth place felt like a sanctuary or more like a zoo. My daughter is concerned about the welfare of the animals.
  4. We will be there on Christmas eve/christmas Day. Do you know if things will be closed on Christmas Eve? Will we have trouble getting transportation either of those days (cab/uber/streetcar)?
  5. I have that booked for the night before our cruise. I have read that it's a good place to stay for getting on the ship (within walking distance). We get in the evening before, so won't be doing too much sightseeing. But I wanted something centrally located to sightseeing for after, since we'll have the whole day. Or at least near a streetcar stop. But please let me know what you think when you get back!
  6. Staying a day after our cruise. I can’t decide which area is best to stay in- 1. Close to port so cab ride won’t be much. Then take streetcar for sightseeing 2. in between port & French quarter 3. In French quarter. Cab from port may be more expensive but more convenient to sights and restaurants. also will have luggage so need to be able to have a hotel that will store luggage for us
  7. I checked the streetcar route and you’re right. It doesn’t look like that station is open anymore. It looks like the closest station is on the other side of the Hilton riverside. Unfortunately that hotel is running a little high for my dates. And it’s not coming up on Hotwire. I did book that for the night before my cruise though on your recommendation! I got a great rate through Hotwire!
  8. Awesome! That’s not too bad of a walk at all!
  9. Ok. Is the Hyatt place walkable then do you think? It’s hard to judge distance. Or do cabs go that short of a distance? Otherwise thinking of staying at the intercontinental
  10. Are you able to take the street car from the ncl cruise port with luggage to your hotel? If not is the Hilton garden inn walkable with luggage from the port? Or Hyatt place? If not how do you get there? Do cabs or Ubers go that short of a distance?
